    10194 extra carriages

Everything is relatively cheap except for the windows. At more than €8 each, it makes a very expensive carriage. Using the standard square frame would be considerably cheaper but won't look nearly as good.
  2. Awesome! Keep going, this would make an amazing creation if you could put in all the planets!

    Pullman version 2

Looks nice! The extra length is more proportional and the extra width actually makes the ends of the carriages easier. My only complaint would be that it looks to be sitting up a little high on the bogies.

    Modular building

These are incredible, the amount of detail in each is staggering. Each building could do with it's own post. You've really managed to recreate so many different architectural styles so well at an enormous scale, amazing!

    Unpopular LEGO opinions

I hate baseplates and wish they didn't exist. Regular plates can fill the same role. I like friends figs. And best of all, if you don't make your own creations, you shouldn't bother with Lego. Anyone can buy and build a set.
  6. I couldn't believe that the micromotor can move the boxcab, let alone anything else. Really cool!

    Main Street 2015

I always come back to this same stale comment but it seems appropriate here: your town needs trees. Your street looks very nice and everything is good quality but it appears so concrete without some more foliage to soften the edges. Even the most arid towns' horizons are dominated by tree cover. Something like this would bring untold life to your town.
  9. If it's too small, try Duplo. There's always been small parts and will no doubt continue to. They make a build more detailed and intricate. Considering the huge size some AFOLs build with their tiny parts, I can't imagine the hobby being very accessible with larger parts.

Virtual Lego and Renders should be stated on MOCs?

And I'll just leave this long winded thread by yours truly here.

Virtual Lego and Renders should be stated on MOCs?

Imagine if you went to a Lego show and everyone simply had ipads with their digital creations on it. Not everyone has the money to make what they really want, which is understandable, but part of the challenge is making something with what you have. If it's not out of bricks, then it's not Lego. Sitting at a computer is not the same as putting the physical bricks together - you can't know if the parts are available, or if it would really stay together. The modelling programs are for planning and design to assist in making your model a reality, not a final product.

6th Anniversary REVIEW: 31015 Emerald Express

This set pales in comparison to its 2008 counterpart, 4837. This new set is smaller and not as well proportioned, and the omission of the second set of small wheels makes the set less dynamic. The carriage in particular looks out of proportion being so short with such large wheels. The red accents are also unwelcome as they don't tie well with the rest of the set. A step back in my books!
  14. Bricklink sellers don't sell parts at a loss. If you're looking to expand your collection, regardless of what type, buy sets that are currently available.

Aussie sales! Share the news of LOCAL sales!

For the love of all things ABS, I hope not. A Lego store in Australia would be good fun and all, with it's pretty pick-a-brick walls, but you'd lose the ability to get these exclusives on sale. Without a Lego store in Australia, the exclusives are given to retailers, who then discount them to help them move. The Lego stores wouldn't be so generous. Plus, with the prices they charge here for sets, can you imagine what they'll charge for pick-a-brick?

    PseudoMOC 4563 Load & Haul

Nice! Is it heavy enough? How does it manage with a load? With the exception of the smooth roof, this could pass off as a 90's set.

Best sets to get to start a town?

The new creator set (31026) will be a good option for towns, it includes lots of doors and window parts. It launches later this year.

EUROBRICKS SERVER! PM for server id Hey everyone, I've set up a server for Eurobricks members to join. It's a freebuild "survival" server and anyone with a history in Eurobricks is welcome. Survival in the sense that it is a survival environment, but you are free to spawn materials to fund your creations. My house. No fat chicks. That's right, use a client side mod such as Too Many Items to give yourself whatever blocks you want to build whatever you want (within reasonable guidelines of course, no extreme profanity, racist material, etc) wherever you want (again, within reasonable guidelines, no building on top of others' creations, griefing, etc.)! Build the house of your dreams, or a castle! A boat? A palace? Anything you want! Or a boatpalace. The map has been made by myself using worldpainter, with a sea level of ~25. While that does mean that your mines will bottom out quicker, it does mean you can make your creations taller above ground. The spawn building. There are a bunch of commands for you to use on the server to help you get around, manage your inventory, and communicate with other players: /god - invincibility. Don't worry about fire, lava pits or long falls. /give <item ID> [quantity] - Give yourself an item. Install "Too many items" for easy use of this command. /sethome - sets your home location. /home - teleports you to your home location. /tpa <playername> - Request to teleport to a player. /tpahere <playername> - Request the teleportion of a player to your location. /tpaccept, /tpyes - Accept the request of a player wishing to teleport to you / you to them. /tpdeny, /tpno - Deny a teleport request. /clearinventory, /ci - clear your inventory. Ditch all that worthless crap you spawned earlier. /tell, /t, /m <playername> [message] - Send a private message to a player. /warp <warpname> - Teleport to a predetermined location. Not listing a warp will list the available warps. /time <day|night> - set time. /list - view names of the players online. Warps are kept for settlements. If you're making a town, ask a mod for a warp point. Otherwise, use /home and /back. DokuCraft Texture pack! So explore the map and find a nice spot for you. To make this easier there are a series of roads to traverse the continent with. Branch off from one and build your estate, or build a home for yourself in the town. Complete with infrastructure! To join, just send me a private message with your Minecraft username. I'll add you as soon as I can to give you access to the advanced commands. What are you waiting for, go and build!

Moc Lego Steam Locomotive LNER 4472 Flying Scotsman

Nice FS. It's always interesting to see how people approach this and what elements are important to them. I like the running board over the wheels and the lighting system, both of which I never managed to get into my version. The tender is a tricky one to make look better as eight wide, maybe some parts in front of the wheel holders as decoration? I do think it looks very heavy on the frame, with the wheel splashers sitting on the far extents of the footplate rather than over the wheels. The cab is also a bit too tall which makes it look even more top heavy. It'll look great with green wheels, look forward to seeing the finished product!

They look fantastic! So dense and organic. Very nicely done with interesting use of the pirate ship wheel piece.

MOD: Victorian Railways AEC Rail Motor Car

Front windows are two dark red plane windows sandwiching a transparent brick (with plates on top to bring it to height). Front doors are stickered panels.

10184 Town Hall MOD - Public Library

I really love the interior, it is very detailed. The reading tables are just like the ones in my city's state library, complete with banker's lamps. I don't like the exterior personally, I think it'd look better if the windows were aligned vertically. Makes a great addition to your street, makes me want to do it to mine.

    Alternate Palace Cinema Movie Posters

Detroit is weird. I know it's in a dire financial situation after the downfall of the auto industry but the fact that so many giant swathes of land are unoccupied amidst the skyscrapers astounds me. Surely the land itself is worth more than a carpark? But do check out Jim Garrett's wonderful Detroit architecture. Some of the best Lego skyscrapers I've ever seen. But back on topic, has anyone tried a Type 1 door frame, with a clear glass pane in the front and a white pane in the back?

Useful sets for parting out - Shop for me please!

^ Because he wants town parts specifically. Considering you missed the first three modulars (Cafe Corner, Market Street, Green Grocer), the Haunted House should definitely go on your list. Sand green is unfortunately absent in your lineup and this set has some great part variety, all of which are great for buildings. Grab two at least.
