Sorry to hear Anio.

[WIP] I've seen many nice Tie Defenders and I wanted to give one a shot. I made the wings with bricks and I'm pretty comfortable with the structure thus far in terms of stability. The pylons are connected with an axle and another 2 technic pins. I believe this should hold up well enough. I'm probably going to mod the pylons again as I want them a bit wider. I've done like 5 different cockpits, but for some reason I'm just not satisfied with it. Am still looking around for inspiration =) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Completed Tie Defender. I might modify it, would be minimal. All that's left now is for me to make a stand =) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Revision 1 Made the Defender almost in scale with the UCS Tie Fighter. I think I am off by 3 studs on the wings as I couldn't find a way to cut down the length any more without affecting the shape. Also have 2 alternate stand builds. The one with a single pillar stand involves me having to remove a few tiles at the bottom and exposing the internal structure a bit (but only from the bottom). I also put a tie pilot in for scale. The Defender now comes in at just over 1700 pieces and 116 unique parts. The stands are each 150-200 pieces.

Got my bricks in today. Gonna start building it hopefully this weekend. And then the hammerhead after =) if anyone is interested then I'll probably do instructions.

Thanks. Do you mean to have the head at a less steep angle? Or do you mean more sloped bricks? I could adjust the angle or even add more slopes but I do not think I'll do it just yet, I have extra pieces for when I do build it. The remaining bricks should all arrive I'd say in 2weeks or so, but I still have a couple of other projects lined up. Not sure which one I'd like to start on 1st =s

These are rip-offs from clone brands who do not have any licences from Disney. Do not think this is the appropriate forum for it.

Thanks. Thank you. Your Venator is truly impressive.

I happen to be near a book shop and they actually sold out on the Visual Guide. Was hoping to have a look at the other book you were talking about, but they don't seem to carry it. Thank you =)

Looks really good.

Maybe check the mold type and colour? Upload on rebrickable and see what errors are found. LXF often uses outdated pieces (which can cost more, so it is a good habit to replace them with the newer ones), but bricklink SHOULD carry even the older ones.

I bought it when it 1st came out, have yet to open it. Wanted to use it in a Hoth setup, which I have neglected for a long while. Usually the UCS sets tend to be sold out within the day of release, but this one didn't generate the same level of interest. Same with the release of the new Death Star which I don't think I'll be buying any time soon.

Thanks for checking it out. Glad I read your post before I stopped by a bookstore. Anything interesting in the book though? Thanks! I'll probably build my initial one and then mod it after for comparison. I'd like to build it 1st before doing anything with it.

Okay, just testing out to see how easy/difficult it would be for me to add some mods. I dont see an issue with adding another engine on top. The sides I added the pods or exhausts or whatever it is, I can lengthen it without any stability issues.
-
Thanks! The picture is better than what I've managed to find. Looks like an additional engine on top. And the sides are somewhat reversed. I have about 60% of the bricks so I've gone ahead ordered the remaining bricks. Also added some parts for an additional engine and other pieces I think I'll need for mods just in case. Thank you!

Yea you are correct, this is the Corvette. I couldn't find very many details in terms of the schematics and actual size. Does any one have screengrabs of any sort from Rogue One? I still can't find any decent ones and the movie has been out for 1-2weeks now.
-
Thanks =) I get what you mean. I used these pics for reference and then just modded the sides a bit so it wouldnt look so 'neat'. Gonna build this after I'm done with my Tie Defender

Hello! 1st off welcome to Eurobricks =) You can go to http://rebrickable.com/ - Anio and many of the MOC builders upload the parts list there. You download the parts list from the relevant MOC. Example, if you go to my rebrickable account: http://rebrickable.com/mocs/dmarkng/ucs-tie-bomber Click on Import/Export Options Then: Export to BrickLink (XML) You will get the downloaded parts list which you have to open up. Now on to bricklink: click on Want on the top right corner. It'll have a dropdown menu, click on Upload. Then simply copy paste the downloaded parts list there, upload it to bricklink. Go ahead and buy to go through the list of buyers or use their automated search for all the parts list, etc etc. Cheers!

Wow.. thats wicked. I'm still trying to figure out how you did the turbines. Did you use a tube of some sort with #60476 and then connect it to the white dish?

Made some minor revision and got a stand done =)

Thanks for the kind words. The support cones are held with an Axle, and then to each connecting plate that holds the 2 wings, I've another 3 technic pins. The entire central body is a mess of technic parts. I am optimistic it SHOULD hold well, but will only know when I do build this eventually. Thank you! =)

Moved up the latest pics to the top of the thread.

I couldn't wait to complete it so spent a couple of hours last night finishing up the cockpit. It has a full interior and accessible from the top hull. All that is missing are the guns on the front of the wings. ********** Its almost on scale with the UCS Tie.

Yea have to be careful with it as the body is not connected to the wings at the central point, so it becomes front heavy. mine is holding up fine though. do u have pics?

[MOC][WIP][LDD] Minifig Scale Rebels Ghost Build

Impressive! Like how you have the fold up wings. -
I'm actually working on a Tie Defender =p, but very slowly as I'm a bit busy now. So I'm curious how this turns out. I only have the wings designed thus far, picture below. How are your central plates connected to the back of the hull? I have a general idea of what I want to do, probably will use http://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?id=1092#T=C in some form to connect the central plates as you call them to the 'bridges/pylons' which in turn connect to the rear of the main body. Intend for mine to be bigger (wings are 60studs long across), so I'm not sure if it would help you much. I take it you are using an axle to connect the central plates to the rear body?
