    Winter Village: Snowy Owl Beer

The Snowy Owl Beer really catches the spirit of a Christmas Market. I like the details you have made on the wood. All we need now is a "Wurst" (sausage) on the grill.

    Winter Village: Swing Boats

A really great entry. I liked the idea from the first sight. You have good details on the swing boats, and a good combinations of colours.
  3. A Christmas Market without a small train for the kids? Of course not. And this train is really brilliant. And I love the addition of a station. It's not often you see that.

MOC: Sugar & Spice (Modular Building)

Really amazing MOC, Kristel. I agree that the grey facade is not a problem. I think it's because of all the details that break the monotony of a grey wall. And yet, the details aren't too much either. And the blue/white walls are incredible. It was one of the first things I noticed from the interior. Combined with the tiled floor, it makes the Sugar & Spice a "non-LEGO" LEGO cupcake shop. I think it looks good with the "Friends colours" in all the grey, it really brightens the impression of the building. The rooftop garden - just the way I like it

    MOC: 4wide crash tenders

So good to see some 4 wides again, Farnheim. I have never really decided on a size yet. I like the extra details on 6 wides, but the 4 wides are ... just more original. They don't dwarf buildings or compete with trains in size. And you can tell the difference between a car or a truck. Your crash tenders show my point exactly. They don't look like small cars, just because they are 4 wide. And yet, you have managed to put in a lot of details. The robotic arms on top of the tenders are just great. And so are the pictures EDIT: And ohhh... Those "red" wheels - even hidden behind black bricks, they bring up the memories
  7. Inspirational! I am also looking for ideas how to make interior for department stores. Partly for GE which I also think has a way too Spartan interior, and partly for my MOC department store. I, too, agree that Lightning Tiger's many shops are a good place to get inspiration. EDIT: I forgot to write, I also like the coffee shop. Really a good idea.

    Restaurant 'Le Parisien'

You can see more pictures on Flickr, including a close up of the gate which I assume is the front door, you are talking about. Alois, this is a really beautiful building. The French balconies on the 1st floor are really what I associate with a Parisian/French building. Great work on the details of the facade.

The Lego Movie - rebuild town?

A nice lille feature The sign also shows the direction to Paradisa, the predecessor to Friends, and to Century Skyway airport. The other directions shown are to Busy Express Way, Midtown and City Center. I guess Midtown refers to the good, old Town , and City Center to its newer version City. The Busy Expressway I have no idea about. Anybody?

    Town build

It's a great classic town, you are building there, lincolnwho. You really have some classics among the sets. I can't wait to see updates from your "epic town". The only thing, though, you should post some pictures here on Eurobricks. You have quite many pictures - also not relevant for the town, you are building.

Winter Village: Tram Stop (contest entry)

Thanks for the kinds words, to all of you. Greg3, the tram was originally two studs longer, but I had to shorten it a bit to fit the allowed size of 16 studs. I can only say, I am quite happy with the result, too. I did not try to build a certain kind of tram, just to find the style of how a WV tram would look like. It's the first tram MOC, I have made. It won't survive for long, as I had to cannibalize other models. But later on, I will give it a try again. My future town will have a light rail, so a museum tram will be just great.
  12. The Winter Village Market is a busy place. Minifigs from all over the town are coming to enjoy all the stalls with mulled wine, pretzels and other delicious stuff. And of course all the good offers. The children have fun riding the carrousels and ferris wheels, and are amazed by trains and landscapes showed by the local LUG. All day long, the trams bring the minifigs to and from the market place. I think someone has been doing some shopping at the Grand Emporium today. And look! Look who's coming to town... WIP - Town Layout - Brickeyville

This project really has got some potential, lostdriveway. You are lucky to have space for such a table. I hope you will be able to make streets with buildings on both sides. I look forward to see updates on the process.

    Brickville 2014

Good to see new updates from Brickville. You really have a distinct building style, SalvoBrick. Your buildings are closed as modular buildings, but the size fits classic LEGO fine. And the architecture picks up elements from both classic as well as modular buildings. Very recognizable. I look forward to see further updates in this thread. Happy New Year

    Ballabreek 2014

Good to see new developments in Ballabreek again. I look forward to see even more in the new year. Quite impressive how many things you have squeezed into that little car

Expand the Winter Village Contest IV

It's really amazing to see all these entries to the 2013 WV contest. Remember the resistance to the changed conditions at the beginning. But I am glad the contest was changed. It's so nice to see all these creative and original entries. Some entries contain the same idea, but interpreted in different ways. And it really shows that small MODs can be based on great ideas. Good luck to all contestants! No-one mentioned, no-one forgotten.

    LDD MOC: City Hotel

This is an interesting hotel, CM4S. It is really nice to see, how a classic style/city style/open-back hotel could look. And briliant with the lift - though it may not be a feeling having other guests looking into your room when they are passing I would like too see this in bricks - also because then you really can see and adjust the architectural details. I think the front desk is a bit too high. It should be lowered by at least one plate, preferably by two. I like your suggestion for a luggage cart. I have tried to figure out how it could be built. The only thing needed in the hotel is a restaurant. But hard to make, if you want to keep the brick count down.

Advent Calendar - Xmas in a small town

It's a great advent calendar. I really like the samovar. It's new to me to see one in LEGO I look forward to see everything together.

    Modernizing 80ies style City buildings.

Hi bartvdpoel It really could be interesting to see the results of this project - and other suggestions. When I get space for my layout, it will be built up by many classic models. I would like to expand/upgrade them, but still try to keep as close to the original look as possible, though. I guess more people have tried this, but just one building came to my mind. The good old 6365 Summer Cottage that has been rebuild in LDD. You can see the result in this thread. In the thread our fellow SalvoBrick refers to some remakes of two named models, namely the 4554 Metro Station and 1620 Chocolate Factory. The links he provides are not active anymore, though, and I cannot think of which models he is referring to. Let's hope he will take a look here, and can still remember which sets he was talking about. /Laka

    MOC - Row Of Shops

It seems to be an elegant interior, "LT". What about a mirror, so the customers can see how they look wearing their new clothes? Keep on the good job inspiring other MOC'ers to make interior ;) /Laka Edit: Just removing the double text the mobile version of Eurobricks created in this post... Second edit: Just now I saw the shirts under the desk. Quite cool One thing, LT, I think your desks are getting a bit too high for the minifigs. I know it's hard to make a good-looking, detailed furniture without making it a little too big. But those poor minifigs will get their arms hurt...

    WIP: Streamline Moderne Building

Even more art deco. Fantastic! Soon it's time to make an art deco directory ;) Really a nice design, "AussieJimbo". The facade with the typical 'three' (almost like a magical number) in art deco. And yet the more simple design of the streamline modern. I am looking forward to see the interior.

    Monde Cinema

I was just about to leave for a walk when I saw the headline: Monde Cinema with the tag "art deco". After I got the 10184 Town Plan I have had a thing for art deco. And Monde delivers it! You have done it again, Snailad. This building is really beautiful. I love the art deco details. You have really caught the spirit. The lobby is really impressive with the details. I can see the inspiration from both Egyptian and Mayan culture there. And the little happening in the bar What's not to like about the Monde?

    Review: 10243 Parisian Restaurant

Thank you for a Really a great review, "dj2005". Lots of wonderful pictures and comments. Though I wonder about one of your last comments that TLG has not released any dedicated restaurants until PR. Besides several pizzerias, I guess the hard working chef and waiter at the 6376/10037 Breezeway Café/"Ristorante" (http://brickset.com/detail/?set=6376-1) will be disappointed to read that ;) But otherwise it's good the citizens of Lego City can choose something else than Italian food and burgers. I can only agree on the advise to buy at least one of the PR.
