[SPC] Cat A - Brickblood Pirates

Pretty cool crew! I have used the same hat (but brick beard's one) and the shoulder pads from the Darth Malgus for my captain too. I hope he's different enough from yours so I can enter him. If not, I can change him. I will post a pic later on my thread so you can check him out.

[SPC] Cat A - The Hook Hand Gang

Ha! Cool figs. The guy in the mask is great. I'm waiting on the CMF series pirate in the mail for a hook, I've got the same legs on My Captain fig. I'm thinking we will see more of Sir Rodney's leg :)
  5. Hi all, I've been working on some min figs for the Space Pirates competition. Last night I took apart my Space Miner fig. I watched a video and followed it. I took the individual arms and legs out of their sockets. Now one of the legs is pretty loose. My question is does the process of removing the individual arms and legs risk damaging the min figs? I have a bunch of great figs and want to get the most from them build wise without damaging them. Any advice would be welcome.

    [MOC] A Late Delivery

Hi All, Another Sci-Fi, robot, pizza, apocalypse related MOC from me. I know is a very over subscribed genre these days. It's called "A Late Delivery" And yes, I do know I'm weird.

Does dismantling mini figs damage the leg?

OK got it. My figs will be keeping their limbs as nature intended. Good job I read this before doing any more experiments. Thanks guys.

[MOC] Harimau - WipEout HD version

Ah, Seen this build just this evening on Flikr. Wipeout is one of my fav games. I always loved the ship designs, especially in the early PS games. This captures the look perfectly.

    Space Pirates Contest !

I think it's open to interpretation. That's the space where creativity lives. For visual representations in pop culture there are plenty of examples of space pirates e.g. Disney's Treasure Planet or Space Raider corn snacks from the UK. Which reminds me I'm hungry...and only a sci fi themed corn snack will suffice.

    [MOC] A Late Delivery

No! The pizza is preserved in a futuristic suspended animation chamber that slows down it's vital signs. This particular pizza could be a thousand years old. And besides we all know left over pizza tastes pretty good..

    Space Pirates Contest !

I have not taken part in any contests here before. Where do I post my entries? How should they be labelled when posted?
  17. Hi all I've been looking through my collection and lamenting the lack of coloured pieces. I'm sure most new guys get to this point. My collection is around 8 months old or so and I seem to have more whites greys and blacks and very few colours like tan, dark red and the primary colours. For example I have more grey and black brackets than I'll ever need. My queries are as follows. What is the best way to build up more interesting colours? Should I concentrate on one colour and seek out as many sets as I can in that colour? What advice would experienced collectors give regarding how they built up their colour resources?

I like it. Lots of gold pieces, wow!

Experienced collectors best way to build up colours?

@Navy Trooper Fenson yeah I've been looking at EBay a lot. I've got the Cantina without the mini figs from there. It's always the licenced sets that seem to appear. Not Chima or Ninjago mores the pity. But I'm keeping an eye out for them. @Orange Leader I've taken to Brick Owl lately and just ordered what I hope will be useful elements in a variety of colours but that can be pricey. I guess Lego is an expensive hobby..

    Adding Muzzle Flashes to Photos

Missing Brick is right. Think about what you are trying to produce, and why. I could build an entire lego scene in a 3D modelling application such as 3Ds Max, texture it, light it and produce a rendered image that to the untrained eye would look as close to "real life" as you can get. But I don't. I don't because the most important thing about Lego to me is the physical brick. That's the base object. The core of the medium. The skills I'm interested in seeing are how someone builds with those bricks. Not a demonstration of their digital skills. That is a whole other ball game.

    [MOC] The Fly

Hi all I've been collecting for 8 months now so my creations are getting a little bigger (and hopefully a little better). I've been watching more classic Sci-Fi . This MOC is a homage to "The Fly". Please remember always check the Teleporter for insects before stepping inside.

[MOC] Attack Of The 50 Foot Mini figure

Hi all Here is my latest build "Attack Of The 50 Foot Minifigure". It's inspired by the classic sci-fi movie "Attack Of The 50 Foot Woman" and built using a large minifig head from my Lego desk tidy. Thanks to all those who replied to my request for help finding a screaming mini fig head Sven F, Peppermint_M, tkatt, dr_spock and the rest. I actually got most of the figs and heads recommended as they were all so good. Thanks Guys :) This is how it goes together.

Experienced collectors best way to build up colours?

Yeah this makes sense. I'll keep an eye out for clearance sets beyond my usual tastes. I suppose I could eBay the unwanted mini figs. They do seem to include a lot of them in the Ninjago and Chima lines. I'll check out the set contents, maybe watch some build reviews to see what has the best pieces so I know what to look out for. I just got 3 creator sets in the last few weeks and they do contain interesting parts and more importantly for me plenty of colour :)

There are no Lego stores in Ireland unfortunately :( Those classic boxes seem like a good investment. Lots of colour variety! I think that the large creative box will be my next buy. Thanks a lot Iria.

Is PaB at the Lego shop at home site? What is classic? I've not bought any Ninjago. I usually look at City, The Lego Movie and Star Wars sets. I guess I should branch out, it's just I'm not into the Ninjago mini figs and Chima too. They seem not very re-usable to me. Is PaB that section on the Lego site? What is classic? Mixels now that's a good idea, thanks.
