Wow, gorgeous build LT12V ! Great to see amazing new features with working fans and innovative gearing. Wondering, if there are 3 M motors hiding under the boiler and only 2 gears sticking up from the wheel base where does the third motor go? Is it because you have 2 motors just for the back half of the loco?

Replacement Mabuchi motor for 9v trains
bricks n bolts replied to dundarach's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Motraxx 263 will work most likely but it runs off 12v rather than 9v. I switched out a PF motor for one on my 12v layout. -
Switching from 12V system to 9V system
bricks n bolts replied to AlmightyArjen's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Did you switch over to 9v/RC wheels on the wagons also? Can't tell from the video, they're just moving too fast.... -
Congratulations Commander Wolf, is a thing of beauty Very cleanly done with wheels and swivel plates.

Lovely train station Kivi. The integrated bridge and road tunnel are a great touch.

Building the Emerald Night via Bricklink?
bricks n bolts replied to timmyc1983's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Like it, would love to see the built version. -
Some strange things are up at the train station, the night CCTV is picking up something : The hard-up stable owner is handing over her old horses to the farmer who's taking his cows for slaughter It gets worse, the horses are not only chained up but restricted by metal posts and heading to a processed beef product near you What metal posts were these I hear you ask? I was wondering what could be done with these : It's a lamppost pack from 1958 ! Can be used for any sort of cargo, not just horses They're too small to be used as real lampposts in minfig scale and can't hold a real light, other suggestions welcome.

Excellent, and the durt is gone! -
Beautiful detailing BMW Have some questions, what paint did you use for the side of the wheels, do you think it will take long running without scraping off? How did you finish off the sides of that brilliant head lamp? Are those the Enlighten window pieces that come with printed curtains in the carriage? Also love the horse on your previous "Battle of San Juan Hill" creation

Retro using the12 volt system and being caused to use bad language.
bricks n bolts replied to Locomotive Annie's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Thanks for that Annie! I still have a long straight section of blue conductor on RC bley. Think I'll be able to completely make my mind up when I've completed a loop of it, still need to buy some RC curves. It is very nice on the later wheels, did you modify some conductor rails for curved usage yet? -

Remember some of the more recent technically purist parts are far more scandalous. For example, need I remind everyone :

MOC: A Steam Crane for the Kotanga Tramway.
bricks n bolts replied to Locomotive Annie's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Nice effect with the different colour sleepers. So is this now your preferred 12v track solution as opposed to grey conductive rails on brown Enlighten track or will both co-exist? I see you've made different angle 12v points -

That's a great crane Annie, like the boiler / clean colour scheme and looks very solid / practical -
Congrats LT12V, fantastic train glad you found room to expand the collection!

That explains the part next to the doors, (I assume you mean this: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=3839a ), but I was wondering about the teeny tiny door handles. Thinking about it, I'm guessing now they are minifig utensil hammers and pick axes ( http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=6246b & http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=30193 ) ?

Oh wow, they're really cute  I expect there are many, yet to be dreamed up, multiple uses for these.
