LEGO Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors

Recommended Posts

I really need the pictures from Nuremberg, I already checked the Elf´s pictures...

Please, where are the links??????

I've looked around quite a bit and still have not seen any pictures for Star Wars sets from Nuremberg.

Are they not allowing pictures for Star Wars or are they not being presented?

Does the new snowspeeder pilot (microfighter snowspeeder) resemble one from the movies, or is he made up?

If true the news is excellent. About time that Lego expanded into construction which may include character busts, iconic buildings (hint hint) and so on.

Did nobody read the link?

The article is just clickbait by some shady idiot who wants some attention for his site by making up stuff. The key sentence is pretty messed up.

They look like the LEGO® Star Wars™ General Grievious (10186) figure from 2008. Same size, same laser sword, but no LEGO® Technic parts and similar to the LEGO® Marvel Super Heroes figures from 2012.

He says the new products look like UCS Grievous but are at the same time similar to the DC/Marvel CCB figures from 2012 which are as far away on opposite ends as you could get design-wise.

He says there are no technic parts in the new figures but also that the lightsabers of them are the same as the ones from UCS Grievous who had them made out of technic 2L axles and 2L axle connectors.

This is just going to be identical to the 2012 Marvel/DC figures and the Ben 10 stuff and will do just as great.

I thought the “no pictures” thing would be just for the Episode VII sets, right? We may yet see some pictures of the other sets.

Lego employees on this low level don´t actually care about their products. Most likely the whole Star Wars brand is embargoed because the people at the fair are too lazy to call up company or check Wookiepedia to find out which sets are episode 7 related.

That's a pretty absurd statement don't you think? Or maybe it's just because you don't care and are being lazy.

You’re probably right, but I’m still hoping for some pictures of the non-Episode VII sets to show up in a few hours.

People who have been to the show have stated photography is not being allowed for most of the TLG licensed products. TFA sets wouldn't be out for the general public to see and I doubt we will see anything until this summer.

That of course don't mean we might not see some kind of reveal.

Phew, what a relief  I was afraid I might run out of space pretty soon, but thanks to those six mystery sets being construction figures instead of regular sets, this destiny of mine has been delayed.... for a couple of months anyway

So in sum, we'll get 5 regular sets in May/June/July (depending on where you live), 6 construction figures and 6 Episode VII sets in September/October. I guess this'll be the norm from now on, seeing how there'll be a new SW film each December for the foreseeable future

I really hope this Construction figures stuff is a hoax, it’s a waste of essential minifigs that should be released in normal sets. Also I don’t understand how are they going to make those, I mean a Vader or Boba might work, but what about characters with normal human head? Is it going to be like Galidor head or something… shudders

They already made construction figs (using technic) in 2001:

They used to stick to either droids or fully armoured characters.

Yeah I know they did, and it didn’t work out very well. Now imagine how horrible those would be if they had human heads too for normal un-masked characters… that would be completely non-LEGO-like, and ugly as hell.

These construction sets better be brick-built Figures like they Use in the Legolands. Otherwise they will be the First Star Wars sets since the beginning in 1999 I have to think about before buying.

I HATED these Bionicle-styled superheroes sets...

Greetings. Hendrik

As a fan of Star Wars and BIONICLE, I should be pleased with new CCBS characters......

....except I don't want it. I collect LEGO Star Wars mostly because of the ships, which look great on display and are enjoyable to build. The minifigs are pretty much pointless without a ship, speeder, or some type of vehicle.

So translating a Star Wars character into CCBS would mean they get no ship, and thus they really have no appeal.

More likely anything Star wars shown is in a sealed controlled area. They would not likely make a "stuff you can take pictures of" and "stuff you can't take pictures" of division of the Star Wars stuff. They would simply put it all in the No Pictures! room.

And as for who would be at the fair? No they don't send the low level peons who know nothing. They send mostly marketing people, who may or may not know what day it is based on the level of inebriation. But they all will know their product well as a product (if not technically). I used to get sent to trade fairs all the time. I was senior technology development and management and the even as a Director. The major shows like Comdex or CES or E3 I never left the floor of the booth. I was there to insure that the sales and marketing people knew what they needed to know about the product on display, and if they didn't know something they could bring the question to me. I used to get sent in 3 days early with the set up team. just to insure that all the product was set and working right. (We also had the big national porn convention in our show for 3 years. so once we finished our setup we offered our services in getting the porn industries tech working. Most greatful people I have ever done any work for . And much nicer than you would really expect.)

You are being a little short sighted. Besides having been asked for this very thing often, for the past 10 years, it means that certain contractual issues have been overcome. If Lego is now allowed to make buildable Star wars characters just as they did with super Heroes, then a few other doors may have opened up. It is likely that Disney may be more finely parsing what is and isn't allowed from or by certain vendors. Show of hands, who would like to see Star Wars CMF's? Or Super Hero CMF's? Constraction figures may be a sign that that is coming closer to possible.

It also means that those leaked pics of a Boba Fett constraction fig that have been circulating for months might not in fact be a Chinese Bootleg brand.

Well; about the SW construction figures rumors, maybe they will be more like the Toy Story "Construct-a-Buzz" 7592 and "Construct-a-Zurg" 7591... Who knows.

I hope so too.....

Still, it would save me $ as I am not interested at all.

On the other hand, isn't it odd that it would mean there's only 1 Rebels set this summer? Rebels is popular right now, especially with the kids; this would be the perfect time to release some sets. Not that they should release 6 more Rebels sets, but at least more than just the big one (the carrier).

Having said that, I have a feeling at least two of the construction figs will be from Rebels.

Quick summary:

5 summer sets (we've seen pix of 4 of them)

7 Episode VII sets later this year (no pix yet, but they've been announced (numbers+price)

A rumor of 6 construction figs

That leaves the rumored EchoBase set that should arrive in october. Any news on that one?

Please don't be like that, this is absolutely not fair from your side. Great and nice guy from Germany who is attending the show in person and has the blog for years now, and you just start insulting without knowing? Absolutely not OK as AFOL -.-
