In my experience the blue and white bricks are the most prone to warping and discoloration. Me and a few people at our local lego group talked about it last night. It seams the blue is known to be problematic in older sets.

Okay, so, in regards to shoretrooper ranks we see in Rogue One a private, a sergeant and a captain, with the visual guide saying the coloured chestplate plus faulds indicates the rank of captain. I want to have a shoretrooper corporal, sergeant major and lieutenant but wondering how to do it - potentially having the coloured chestplate and no faulds in order to indicate lieutenant, whilst not sure how to do corporal and sergeant major. I'm thinking for sergeant major having sergeant chest markings + kama + faulds, whilst corporal bnasically looking like a private but with a kama, but faulds or no faulds? Any ideas?

I found this phot that shores some of the ranks. This will help. 

 

The arms are not really available from lego. So if you want it more accurate you’ll have to paint or have custom printing done. As for the torsos all three are avaible between the three versions that have been released. And they all wear the same helmet.

When I assembled my squad I was lazy about it. I used the poly bag trooper as the commander. The one that came in the tie striker are my NCOs and then the rank and file from the battle on the scarif set.

I seem to remember reading somewhere that all shore troopers are non commissioned officers. Can’t find where I read it now. From what I understood was as a specialist they would split up and act as squad leaders of standard stormtroopers so I think the idea is the average shoretroper is a corporal or Sargent and the blue markings are staff non commissioned officers and officers. Not sure but my guess is but I could be wrong.

No blue = corporal and Sargent  

blue shoulders and small chest stripe = staff/first/master sergeant etc 

blue upper chest = all officer ranks 

Markings more distinguish groups of ranks than specific ranks. 

Also ive never seen a complete break down of ranks in the stormtrooper core like I’ve seen for the imperial navy and army. I always had the impression there are not that many different ranks in general.

Hi all,

Does anyone have the exact dimensions of the 75055 Star Destroyer?

I'm looking at getting a UV-blocking display case but all I can find online are the box dimensions. The LEGO store description has some vague dimensions that I don't entirely trust.

hey apparently the online lego store costs a lot more than my local kmart. had to pay 100 for a tie fighter but kmart was selling it only for 80

why though because i had to get it from lego.com just to get a darth vader pod :(

After seeing the new Harry Potter sets, I like the look of the way the minifigures can hold there wand - straight up or pointing out in front due to the pommel on the end. Would love to see this as an addition to lightsabers - surely we're due a new mold?

The stud face on the Guavian soldiers (specifically 75180 Rathtar Escape).  Is the stud tall enough and the proper dimensions to interface with 1X1 round females?  Such as a 1X1 round plate or 1X1 cylinder?

Do someone know why sw lego generally include so few mini figures (if its not a UCS playset) compared to other themes of lego? For example the new Harry Potter wave have a very generous inclusion in number of mini figures in comparison.

Maybe because of the License-Costs. I think the Star Wars License was -also before Disney bought Lucasfilm- not the cheapest.

But would the license cost be for each mini figure not for each set? Sounds weird honestly

Hasbro obviously have a long-held master license with Lucasfilm to produce Star Wars figurines.

I sometimes wonder whether that has any influence on the quality (detailing) or number of figures per set?

As a collector of minifigs primarily, I base my “value” of a set on the number and/or quality of the minifigs. As a result, must be said I’m buying fewer and fewer sets lately. Certainly wish they’d bulk up the minifig count!

It's for both of course (for the ship/speeder/building/... and for the minifigs).

Have no idea how these license works, I thought it would just be like they paid an fixed amount to be allowed to produce sw lego, not to pay for each piece, each mini figure etc. The only thing I can compare with that I know is how arrangements and procurements are made with suppliers of goods and services to comunicipality departments and its not that detailed because it takes to much time, but of course it's possible.

So if they paid licence money for each minifig can't they have a collectible series then as the sales would go up by a lot too.

Yes exactly, so thats why I doubt it. I wonder if lego can answer these questions if you send them an email. I think I will just do that actually and see if anything comes up

I also don't know for sure. That's only how I thought, it would be.

How UCS supports behave? I'm thinking about putting the Slave I on its stand, but iirc, I read here some time ago that it tends to bend..

Hi Jockos, if you do a search on the forum you will find the thread on the UCS Slave 1 bending or not on the stand - some simple mods are detailed which can help avoid/mitigate the potential bending - other folks have not had anything happen at all.

I think the recent HP releases are a difficult thing to make an example against. With it being a complete relaunch they were always going to have to redo every minifigure and the success of the waves wasn't always guaranteed (although I'm sure market research told them they would be or the investment would;dn't have been made in the first place).

With that I think they've been hugely generous on the minifigures for those sets, although they may be looking to limit the amount of sets released and as such the amount of mini figures may be increased per set due to this.

If HP were an evergreen theme such as SW and had been going continually for 20 years with the amount of sets that SW gets each year then there'd be such a huge duplication of figures it would be unreal. So maybe Lego looks at how many sets they are going to release and limits the figures accordingly. They need to keep things fresh and offer something new each wave whether that be a new figure, an updated figure or whatever.

Thank you, I will search for it! But I'm also interested in other supports, such as X-, Y-wing and Snowspeeder, where the stand can be tilted. Will it damage the pin or any part if it's in "flight" mode and/or fully vertical?
