The Green Brick Giant

World Racers Summer 2010

Recommended Posts

All of the World Racers sets were at my TRU (in Ohio, USA). It was very exciting to see all of the new parts in those sets although I didn't end up buying any.

They are also available in the Lego Store in Downtown Disney, California! :classic:

More teams would make it more expensive. Two teams is enough for a race and a story. You can use your imagination and make more, that is what I am doing while I wait :classic:

:oh: We should have a contest to design our own team!

Great! I'll start making the stickers and devising an already over used color scheme!:tongue:

I was thinking people be a bit creative with things, but overused colourchemes are the ones that look nicest.

How about our own Wacky Races contest eh ?

I would do the Ant Hill Mob in a hotted up 1930's car with a chain gun !

When are these sets hitting Oz shores ?

I'm a conformist! ! :sweet:

Why are there only two teams? Seems kind of cheap to me. :hmpf_bad: The pieces look cool, but there's only around two color combinations.

I said the same thing as soon as we had any pictures of the sets.

I'm guessing it's so next year they can have two new teams.

It seems like one of the better sets and it comes with my favorite minifigs in the theme! :classic:

DEX-treme is the guy with the Red and Green glasses.

MAX-treme is the guy the Red scarf and Red glasses.

REX-treme is the guy with the serious/mad face.

Team Backyard Blaster's Members :

Bubba Blaster is the Grumpy member who is kinda fat (No Offense to him  ).

Bart Blaster is the guy with the Sideburns and has an angry face.

Billy Bob Blaster is the guy with the Glass Red eye.

Not bad names.

Those remind me charecters from Mad Max.And there also was a character with name Bubba.

Building instruction of a World Racers promo set is found in lego.com

30031 World Race Powerboat

30031.jpg

http://cache.lego.com/bigdownloads/buildin...ons/4593142.pdf

It is noted that 30031 is Race 9, while the 6 sets (8896-8899, 8863-8864) are Race 1 to Race 6.

So where are Race 7 and Race 8?? :sceptic:

Race 8 is found

30032 World Race Buggy

The more I look at these sets the more I like them. I'll probably wind up getting a few of the cheaper ones.

"Desert of Destruction" looks alright, too expensive for me. I'd like to see a review of it though.

I like 'em, picked up the set with the bikes in it. Only for the parts, the minifigs are nice.

Finally Lego feels the power of the Dark Side! To me this series is the re-imagination of the classic board game Car Wars combined with the best of Death Race 2000 and its remake Deathrace. I don't know about fish bombs, but dynamite is effective at stoping other vehicles. Give the minifigs passengers some Tompson sub machine guns from the Indy sets and you've got it made.

Sets are now in Italian toys shops. I'll just wait for a 15% off; standard prices are far too high.

The promos are neat. I'd get them just for the cool minifigs.

Only Race 7 is still a mystery now. I could imagine that it will be a store exclusive.
