[MOC] Winter in the Raven's Wharf - Medieval City

Recommended Posts

Hi!

Today I start my new project:

Winter in the Raven's Wharf

This will be my biggest MOC to date and there are quite a few topics to cover

Winter in the Raven's Wharf_E1

I plan to build a medieval port somewhere in the far north. I did surveys on YouTube and Instagram, I asked what season to choose...

...Winter won!

The project will consist of several parts, the whole thing will be divided into several baseplates. The size of 60x150 studs is planned.

On the waterfront, I will want to build a lot of buildings for residents, but also military ones. The main attraction, however, will be the large ship I'm already building

There are several inspirations, I will definitely turn on the Witcher 3 game more than once to explore Novigrad and look for interesting ideas.

The main ship will have about 1500 parts and I will definitely make a PDF instructions for it.

I've already built a small boat for a fisherman, I'll probably build more of these.

I'm going to need a lot of parts, especially for building water. Since I'm building winter, I'll want to use the new animals from the City Arctic series - I'll add some seals, but I'm tempted to add a killer whale as well.

You can learn more about this project from my video, link below.

I will be glad if you write what you think about this project, but also write your ideas what I can build here :)

In the next episode I will definitely want to show the finished ship, I will have to make sails and instructions.

The ship contains 1380 parts, some custom lines and sails.

The construction took several weeks, I had to order some parts.

There is a lot of space on board, there is a greting panel, a steering wheel, a working rudder.

The ship is distinguished by 2 triangular sails, I was based a bit on The Naglfar from Witcher Wild Hunt game.

There will be instructions for the ship, it will be on rebrickable soon.
I still need to prepare a few things, a description for the ropes and a template for the sails.

I also built the first piece of water with floes

Great job as always, looking forward to watching the video. If the latter doesn’t cover it, out of curiosity, how did you paint the sail so perfectly? I think I saw on IG you did it by hand???

That ship and also the fisherman‘s boat look so great. Can‘t wait for the instructions as I am dying for a more realistic medieval ship!

I keep catching these on YouTube so no need to comment here.

But for anyone who hasn't looked over there, Edge of Bricks makes some of the cleanest Lego-iest videos of MOCs going. No subscriber-boosting BS, just sweet sweet Lego goodness.

The tower is a great addition to the moc! But my highlights are these nice techniques you use for the three support pillars for the wharf's wall on the right and those modified plates you use for the ladder. The snow on the roofs and water looks great too! And of course the ship! Do you plan to expand the layout further?

EDIT: Just saw that part with the ramp at flickr
