My guess (and it's only a guess) is that he used two solid-colored 4L bars instead of lightsaber blades, used a wand tool to select one bar at a time, turned the selection white, and gave it a colored outer glow.

Very summarized, but yes. There are many variations but the result is more or less the same.

You can make the swords are crossed, or that they are like in the picture.

IMHO, first one looks better, since lighting and setup are perfect.

Stormie is standing on the rock or sand? It looks like som dirty sand to me, but whatever it is, it shows

a Stormtrooper in desperate (or maybe not) search for something. Perfect!

Well, I call it trans-blue since there's no actual trans-blue bar 4L, and this looks better than any other version

of blue lightsaber.

It is a customized light up saber hilt. I run a fiber optic cable into the hilt.

I've devided it into two (originally 3, but the pictures didn't work out as well as I'd hoped) different posses. If you could select your favorite out of each, that'd be great.

I agree with ceroknight, I think the back-lit one looks best.

That said, I think that avatars should be nice, clear, easy to see images. Preferably with transparent backgrounds.
