lightningtiger Posted October 13, 2014 I'm back again with my favorite kind of MOC......a hardware store ! This time a bit different, no stickers at all, based on the new Lego shop design and an original logo/name/brand. You can see why it's called ANVIL Hardware right ? I still might have a few little changes yet......like staff and customers......and it will be forming a new series of MOC's by myself (no, not for NM). Keep watching ! Off the wall Posted October 13, 2014 I really like it. Nice work. I would like to see how it looks with the black anvil removed from the front and the bin at ground level also removed. Excellent use of the clear bricks and I like the use of the tan floor tiles.
lightningtiger Posted October 13, 2014 Thanks 'off the wall', the anvil is been used as the sign and the dump bin goes out the front but I still have a wheel barrow and ladder to stick out there yet.....oop's I forgot. Another reason for the anvil is no stickers required......plus if it was gone how would know it's an ANVIL store eh ? Keep watching !
eurotrash Posted October 13, 2014 Another well laid out interior and a good looking facade LT! Have you considered an open backed residential second story for it?
LAKAbricks Posted October 13, 2014 Do you have an idea, how many hardware stores, you have built by now? I like the rather clean design on this one.
lightningtiger Posted October 13, 2014 Thanks 'Iaka' and 'eurotrash' for your comments, actually I might consider a second floor BUT not much support for a floor as you can see. Now either city or country hardware stores over almost five years........guess two dozen or more........hey, I'm a bloke and blokes love going to hardware or tool stores ! Just as women shop for lots of handbags, men (and some women too) love to shop for tool belts and tools for said belts ! I'll have more done to it today, so as usual.......keep you-know-what ! cgarison Posted October 14, 2014 One of these days, I am going to break down and build a hardware store modular building. I like the detail you put inside the store. Nice MOC.

Withacee Posted October 14, 2014 Nice one! Love the facade and the interior, and the "Ikea" atm Straight from the money machine to the heavy machinery. Convenient! Looking forward to the pizza take away as well. Keep clicking those bricks together.
Hobbythom Posted October 14, 2014 Hi LT! You are the undisputed king of shop interiors. I've got to get something of my chest though. I sometimes get the feeling the shops you place them in serve as a showroom for the stands, displays and whatnot. The reason I feel this way is that most builds are white, with white and dark tan tiling and white counters. I feel like that with your ability to build convincing shop interiors you could build something really awesome if you step out of your comfort zone and build something grand, colorfull or something you've never build before. Catch my drift? Feel free to ignore the following and please take it as well meant advice and encouragement, not as critisism.
lightningtiger Posted October 14, 2014 Thanks for the feedback guys.......now what would you suggest out of my comfort zone ? Pizza take away joint is coming along nicely......pizza oven is in already.....keep watching !
Hobbythom Posted October 14, 2014 Hi LT, What I mean by out of your comfort zone you ask? Just from the top of my head: build something modular sized, build a hardware store in a very old building, build a mountain town ski gear shop complete with cliff side construction.... Something radically different than you would normally build. Even if it turns out it is not you prefferable style it could still give you challenges, new ideas and inspiration. As you say: Brick on!!!
lightningtiger Posted October 14, 2014 (edited) Well, I have done a two storey modular a few months back plus a few 60 plus stud open backs.......but I might think about another modular one day but they don't fit in with my Avalonia or New Mannum structures. Keep watching ! Edited October 14, 2014 by lightningtiger
LAKAbricks Posted October 14, 2014 Like the cash maschine, LT. Not exactly discrete in design, but somehow it looks like something you could see around. And the dark blue of the CityBank is not a bad colour to use
lightningtiger Posted October 14, 2014 (edited) Thanks 'Iaka' for your kind words, yeah I was lucky my spare parts people had those 1x3 curved slope pieces in stock in that colour. Pizza take away gets finished today......I hope......keep watching ! Edit - I just noticed 19001 posts since 28th October 2009.....only a fortnight or so shy of five years being a member of EB.....not that's a long time eh ?
