BrickBob Studpants Posted May 29 Posted May 29 The Venom bust leaked, and this might be my favourite one yet! The minifig‘s cool too ^^ Quote

The minifig‘s cool too ^^ Official images are out now I'm definitely not complaining that we've got a Tom Hardy Venom figure, but the choice to make the bust movie based just makes it a bit too plain for me. A comic version with part of the spider emblem would've given it a bit more pizzazz. It's definitely not bad though, I do like that the tongue can be removed Quote
Kaijumeister Posted June 2 Author Posted June 2 That is a seriously cool bust, and I don't even care about them. The shaping and proportions to capture Venom's musculature and otherworldly appearance are superb. Watching the reviews of the BND sets, as expected the buildable Spidey is a complete bust, the Spidey vs. Hulk set has some cool play functions but that doesn't redeem its blandness, and the Prisoner Transport is quite solid. I didn't realise Spidey's head is actually new - there's some slightly different printing on the eyes. Quote
Scarilian Posted June 3 Posted June 3 Venom bust generally looks alright from the front, but from the side it looks like his upper face has been mushed in, the teeth don't come out as far as they should. 11 hours ago, Kaijumeister said: as expected the buildable Spidey is a complete bust From the reviews seems to have a serious design flaw in its ankle joints so it's unable to actually pose at all without falling due to a lack of friction. The build also appears to be unstable and prone to falling apart. Maybe Lego know something we don't and Tom Hardy's Venom will show up in Avengers: Doomsday so they wanted a way to get the figure out and about prior? Though its more likely they are testing the waters on if including a figure impacts sales of the busts and choosing this design also means less printing required for the chest due to the lack of Spider symbol. CloneCommando99 Posted June 4 Posted June 4 I’m very curious how 2027 is going to play out for Lego. Secret Wars isn’t releasing until December and there’s nothing else coming movie-wise. Hopefully X-Men’97 sets but probably just Infinity Saga Endgame Final Battles. 22 hours ago, Agent Kallus said: It looks okay, not quite equine enough though. Quite the neighsayer aren’t you. I think we can expect a set or two based on it, plus perhaps more Sony sets in general and likely more Doomsday sets. And more lame Endgame sets of course, as you say Quote

If I had to guess, I feel like we'll get a Normal January Wave like the ones We've Had years prior (like 9 sets). I also could see us getting a Spider-Verse Wave in the Spring kind of similar to how the NWH Wave Was, where we get One Set based off ITSV, One Set based off ATSV, and another set based of BTSV. As for Secret Wars, I could see us getting 5 sets for that movie. Aside from that, I think there will also be The 2 Yearly Busts and a D2C (maybe a MCU Based Baxter Building?) Quote

My guess would be: Q1/Q2 - Avengers: Doomsday Wave 2 (3-5 sets) Q2 - Beyond the Spider-verse Sets (3 sets) Q3 - Marvel Studios Series 3 CMF Q4 - Avengers Secret Wars Wave 1 (3-5 sets) Along with 'Epic Moments' collection sets, a D2C set, 4+ sets focused around Spider-man & his Amazing Friends, probably another buildable Groot or Groot-sized character, maybe a legacy set or two to give us missing figures. At the moment limiting factor in making one articulated is still the joint pieces not being strong enough, though admittedly not tried the ones used for the T-Rex Skeleton yet. Quote
cosmic Posted June 8 Posted June 8 Okay so kind of a weird thing to complain about but here goes. Love the Phase 1 Black Widow we got in the recently retired Quinjet/Avengers Tower but really wish she had the Hollywood Starlet piece in orange as opposed to the hairpiece she uses in AoU. I agree with her using that piece for her Phase 2 figure but like many here who have swapped her hair I enjoy the curly swoop more as it seems more accurate to the 2012 film. So anyways its a very easy fix and a dumb thing to complain about, given I could just go on Bricklink, but I really wanted to order this hairpiece directly from Lego and it seems I can't! Which is annoying me (obviously) lol. This Hollywood Starlet piece is available for sale on Pick a Brick in a variety of colors but NOT the medium nougat orangish color that Black Widow needs. I thought it would be, given Sigourney Weavers Star Wars character uses it in currently produced sets, so Ifigured it would be listed for sale. Wednesday Adams pigtails and some of the One Piece hair pieces are available for sale on PAB, and those are exclusively molded for Licensed characters! So why won't Lego Star Wars list that hair piece given its just a recolor of an existing hair piece that already has multiple colored listings in the first place! Lol I know its a silly thing to complain about but I swear it drove me up the wall and I just had to complain about it haha. Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted June 10 Posted June 10 The MCU Doom minifig leaked, and it looks great! Leg printing, arm printing, an armour piece, and the new hood in dark green! Quote
hvader Posted June 11 Posted June 11 Holy moly that Doom is beautiful… please don’t be an exclusive figure to a set… I want multiples of this to army build into doombots!! Quote

Supposedly he’s exclusive to the bust. So either Dr Doom isn’t in the rest of the Doomsday set, this figure isn’t actually exclusive, or we’re getting three distinct Dr Doom minifigure this year. Yeah, the face is rough, which is really annoying for an otherwise 10/10 figure. I guess it can always be swapped with the calendar's face. It is a bit weird that they've got two different sets where they're clearly hoping a not-insignificant number of people will buy it just for Doom, if this one is truly exclusive to the bust. Feels like they're self-competing a bit. 1 hour ago, Clone OPatra said: Jokes on us: all other figures will now have unprinted torsos and the Kaz/Bruce Wayne/Draco Malfoy head to compensate. Every single minifigure besides doom is just SH1114 with different accessories depending on the character it allegedly is. Quote

I could see it being like the Iron Spider figure, and only the arm printing is exclusive to the bust On the other hand, if he is only available in the Bust, it'd be kinda crazy that none of the Doomsday sets (I can't remember how many we're said to currently be getting) include not only the titular character, but the ONLY villain in the movie Quote
hvader Posted June 11 Posted June 11 I refuse to believe none of the Doomsday sets besides this will have Doctor Doom. That would be insane Quote
BoyLego Posted June 11 Posted June 11 Wow, I was so wrong, was not expecting it to be so different. It looks great but I think I actually prefer the comic version, hoping that comes in a mech or magazine so I can get it cheap. I will definitely try and get some of that shoulder armour though as it really helps to balance the big hood. Quote
Swordy Posted June 11 Posted June 11 That new Doom looks incredible. Great to see LEGO Marvel implementing more arm and leg printing this year. I doubt that trend will continue past these Avenger-movie years, so I'm glad to be here as it unfolds. I hope this figure shows up at least twice within the next year and a half. The shoulder pad element would work great for Mark I Iron Man, and that hood in dark green is exactly what the comics Doom needed, in my opinion. Quote
kevkipo Posted June 12 Posted June 12 How does it make any sense that none of the other doomsday sets include Doom?? Huh??? Quote
psqidexslizer Posted June 12 Posted June 12 1 hour ago, kevkipo said: How does it make any sense that none of the other doomsday sets include Doom?? Huh??? They could still include Dr. Doom. It just wouldn’t be this specific minifgure (ie, they cheap out and lose the arm printing). Quote
hvader Posted June 12 Posted June 12 Imagine all the Doomsday regular sets having Doom’s face on their boxes, only for there to be no Doom in them Quote
