Bucky Barnes

torso from the Doomsday sets is up in the usual places.

Don't really think of all characters they qualify as a spoiler, they're one of the ones most obviously in the film, but

Spoiler

while it's good to see they know how to print on his arm in a non D2C set, this figure feels too plain without the red star on his right arm. Other than, it does look good

Can I just say thanks to @Mandalorianknight for using the spoiler tag and it would be great if people replying to them could remember to do the same. Even rumours can spoil a movie for those wishing to go in without knowing anything.

You're welcome!

Just another thought though, could Lasher actually be a green Symbiote Scorpion that was only identified as Lasher for his trait of being... green?

It would be a little disappointing but I suppose randomly half- venomizing characters isn't unheard of for lego.

Randomly included in a pick a brick order sent to one of ours (@Classic_Spaceman), no less, according to the usual place.

It's officially confirmed that he's in the film, that one is OK to talk about

He could be in the set alongside a bunch of random other cast members, but this is fueling my theory that the New Avengers Tower is a sneaky thunderbolts set with Doomsday branding because Marvel didn't give them enough for doomsday. Very much hoping we get the full team (And also that John has his helmet and not that stupid beret). Of course, this would go against my other dream that the vehicle is the X-jet with that team (though it's almost certainly the F4 ship)

Bucky's torso seems accurate while also being generic enough that it'd work with other characters if desired, which is good for army building. The most glaring omission is the lack of the 'star' symbol on his other arm though, as seen in the post-credits of Thunderbolts.

Looking at the BND trailer, I can’t believe the pigeon from that Hulk set is actually in the movie… good job Lego (?)

I've seen it proposed that this torso has an unfinished print- the red on the A is missing, if Bucky's wearing the same costume in doomsday as in the thunderbolts post credits (which I assume he would given IIRC the Russos made that post credits and it takes place seemingly during Doomsday).

I'm fine with the missing star, though. Always felt weird to me that Bucky would voluntarily put a red star back on his arm given last time it was there it was as the symbol of the soviet union, who aside from... you know... being the soviet union, were forcing him to go murder people against his will.

Lego knew John Pidgeon was the film's true villain, bravo lego, expertly done. (It's still weird to me that by all accounts this film simply doesn't have a main villain.)

Bucky’s torso looks awesome. The lack of arm printing on his right arm doesn’t bother me all that much to be honest.

The BND trailer looks fantastic and I love how much style Destin Daniel Cretton seems to be bringing as a director. Nice to see Epic Clash at the Big Grey Rectangle is accurate to the film in Lego’s defence.

The spidey tracker website accidentally released a GIF of a very grey hulk, implying they've recolored him for the trailer but we actually ARE getting a grey hulk- though sadly not a Joe Fixit

Tombstone

Given how little he's been marketed and yet how it wouldn't be a spoiler to say that, I don't think so, though I would like it. It's in the middle of my hopes and fears for this movie, a sort of "yeah that could be pretty cool" thing. Maybe:

Spoiler

Tombstone is trying to be the new Kingpin of Crime. He sets in motion many of the events- Scorpion escaping, the tank chase, etc- and Spidey is too distracted by all the criminals he's throwing at him, Jean, and his own changes to realize the master plan or even that there IS Tombstone running things. The hulk rampage was orchestrated by Tombstone by playing Jean and Spidey against eachother and is done to eliminate a bunch of evidence the DODC had against him.

By the way, my best-case scenario for this movie is:

Spoiler

They have successfully hidden Shathra and we're partially adapting The Other. The characters/plot go as follows:

Movie starts with the montage of him fighting characters like Boomerang, Tarantula, and Tombstone, as well as Scorpion. The montage also shows him stopping Punisher from killing someone. We know that 4 years have passed.

We then get a look at sad loner Peter in his apartment where he reads a voiceover of his letter to MJ as we see him go to the coffee shop, watching her and Ned but still unable to bring himself to actually give MJ the letter.

The inciting incident is the tank chase from the trailer. Scorpion is being transported from normal prison to a DODC facility, but the tank has been hijacked and is careening through the city. Punisher is chasing it down as we see in the trailer. Spidey and Frank have their trailer interaction before Spidey continues chasing the tank, but he's unable to stop it from crashing into a DODC facility. Spidey is confused to see the tank hijacker is an old lady (we see this in the trailer) who immediately swaps to a guard body and then hits Spider-Man with a mental attack that triggers his changes.

Spidey wakes up in a web cocoon with organic shooters and goes to Bruce Banner to ask what to do. Bruce agrees to stay in touch with Spidey, who's then invited to the DODC. DODC guy explains they're hunting a mind-hopping villain and give him some information on her- they think it's a woman who turns out to be Jean Grey, and have a photo of her with Punisher.

Punisher is protecting Jean. Spidey tracks him down but Jean isn't currently with him and Frank refuses to tell him where she is. Spidey argues with him (seen in BTS footage) before a massive mental pulse goes off and Spider-man swings away to the source.

This middle section I'm a bit choppier on the specifics and order of, but they're largely supported by trailer material:

The Hand are attacking the prison Matt Murdock is incarcerated in (Apparently Born Again S2 ends with Kingpin exiled and Daredevil voluntarily going to jail), either to kill him or break him out. We get a quick cameo from him where Spider-Man is like "what is my lawyer doing here dawg" and Matt says something about how he's going to abide by the law and stay in jail. Spidey lets his instincts take over and is able to demolish The Hand ninjas.

That night spidey goes to MJ and Ned's apartmentwarming party (trailer). He meets MJ "for the first time" after telling Ned- but not MJ- who he is. He leaves after seeing Eman Esfandi's character, presumably Paul, is dating MJ, but as he's swinging back to his apartment he's attacked by Scorpion and nearly killed. He gives into his instincts to win, but this time instead of just winning, he's caused a lot of collateral damage and injured civilians. (We see him throw scorpion so hard it flips a currently occupied and driving cop car, which doesn't seem like a normal spidey move.) If they have any balls they'll adapt the bit from Superior Spider-Man where he punches Scorpion's jaw off. Spidey is then taunted by the telepath.

The next day, the DODC raid Tombstone, who upon being questioned as to how he knew when Scorpion was being transferred, seems to imply the information literally popped into his head. The DODC ask spidey to come in and tell him this... but also reveal the extent of his damage and injuries in the scorpion fight and try to arrest him. (Scene at the end of the trailer where he fights two DODC guards) After he escapes, the telepath continues to taunt spidey. (This is that scene from the trailer where a telepath taunts him through random civilians on the street, at one point threatening to "go visit MJ", which seems too evil to be Jean- why would she threaten innocent civilians just because he cares about them?) Following this is when we see him asking Bruce Banner in a trailer about good vs bad mutations. Bruce decides to help him see what's going on with his mutations and comes with him as Smart Hulk to investigate after someone gives spidey a mental image of the abandoned DODC building.

Before investigating this, Spidey goes to get MJ (who remembers being saved by spider-man, just not Peter). Punisher agrees to protect her, but MJ almost immediately hits him with the "so he's risking his life and you're just sitting around?" and he goes after him. (Literally this whole paragraph is from the trailer)

Looking through evidence in the abandoned DODC building, Banner realizes there's different energy signatures between mental outbursts of energy and more violent attacks- the DODC have it wrong, or they just want an easy "win" of capturing the telepath they've found, but there's a SECOND telepath out there. At the same time, we see MJ in punisher's hideout finding Jean, who gives her backstory. In the DODC building, Banner collapses, freaking out. Against his own will, he removes his wrist device and Hulks out into a savage grey form (accidental gif upload by an official website revealed the green is a trailer edit and he's actually grey in the fight with spider-man), fighting Spider-Man.

This is where we run out of trailer footage and it becomes entirely speculation:

Punisher arrives to help (early trade articles upon punisher's announcement claimed he and spidey would 2v1 hulk), but it's not enough. Spider-man fully gives into his instincts to beat him, and even then, he's barely staying on his feet- which means he's unable to stop Shathra (in somebody's form, maybe Paul, that would be funny) from coming up behind him and grabbing his head, finally close enough to take over his mind. This is where we find out she's the secret villain, an entity that feeds on spider-beings' energy and has been orchestrating these events to forcibly evolve spider-man into a "full meal". She's going to use spidey to kill Jean, who, as another telepath, is the only one who can stop her. (It is intentionally vague why now that she has spidey she doesn't just control him into letting her siphon his energy).

Punisher fights Spidey to buy MJ and Jean time- I don't think the studio will go full man-spider, but I also don't think it's a coincidence that we have a Punisher appearance, a spidey-evolves story, and a director who's talked about the 90s cartoon. They're 100% loosely adapting Neogenic Nightmare where Punisher fights Man-Spider. Jean has unlocked MJ's memories and manages to push MJ's voice to Peter's mind through Shathra's attempts to block it, and her connection to him frees him from Shathra's control. Spidey is then able to stop her in her true wasplike form, which also clears Jean's name with the DODC.

Spidey and MJ aren't dating again yet, but they're close again. Jean gives Ned his memories back too and they ask if she wants to stay with them, but she says she got invited to a school in New Jersey. We get a final swing by Spidey...

... that's interrupted when his spider-sense goes crazy and Ezekiel Sims appears played by Keith David (Keith David is in this movie as an unannounced role). Sims warns Spider-Man that now that he's fully awakened, new dangers will be drawn to him. He asks why he thinks Shathra didn't just siphon out his energy once taking over- it's because he's not the only spider-totem. He reveals his own powers, as well as that Spidey wasn't the only one bitten by the spider, and we close on a shot of Silk in the bunker.

Post Credits 1 is a Morlun reveal, where he grins, baring his fangs as he tells another inheritor that a full-course meal just woke up and he intends to eat his fill. Title card reads "Spider-Man will return", with the spider-symbol of The Other appearing behind it.

Post Credits 2 is Banner talking to holograms of captain marvel (who has to be in this movie in some capacity because Brie Larson's been in every single movie DDC has directed), Bucky Barnes and Yelena Belova (rumored to be in the movie at one point), Sam Wilson, Wong, and Shuri. He warns them that the incursions are growing, yet another multiversal entity slipped into their world, and nobody's heard from Stephan Strange in a year. The final title card simply reads "Doomsday is coming"

And my worst case is:

Spoiler

The whole thing is just a soft pilot for the MCU X-men franchise. The villains are all just kinda there, Jean is one of the main characters and despite how actively caustic and threatening she's being to spidey is just a scared teen, and the DODC are a "twist villain" despite having been antagonistic to spider-man in multiple prior movies. (Seriously. You CANNOT tell me the voice that's threatening to "go visit MJ" is Jean Grey.) The DODC are heavily implied to be rebranding as one of the mutant hunting agencies from the comics, Punisher and Spidey manage to get Jean to a "school where she'll be safe" that's heavily implied to be the X-mansion, and we get 1-2 cameos of other X-men characters.

Yeah no offence to the dude, but he isn’t a reputable leaker.

According to Unibricks, the four Doomsday sets will be revealed on 26th July (alongside the rest of the merch for the film). In summary, we know to expect:

- A Brickheadz Multipack

- Doctor Doom Bust

- Location build

- Ship build

- Epic Moments set (priced at $99.99 so we can expect a sizeable build)

Marvel film marketing tends to be pretty front-loaded to be merch-friendly, and from the leaked footage and trailer descriptions that have been shown so far (along with some disparate leaks of Hasbro merchandise such as Titan Heroes and ActionVerse figures) I think we can make a few assumptions:

- The merchandise should cover the three main ‘teams’ representing the three colliding universes for the film: 1) New Avengers / Sam’s Avengers 2) The Fantastic Four, and 3) The X-Men. This lines up with how the trailer descriptions so far have emphasised these groups, along with individuals like Steve and Thor.

- The location build probably covers New Avengers/z Tower to give the main Thunderbolts cast.

- The ship is probably Excelsior, reasonable to assume it’ll include the F4 with Thor and maybe Steve.

- The Epic Moments set probably covers the big sentinel battle, so we’ll get some of the FoX-Men characters along with a couple of characters from the other two ‘universes’. No doubt they’ll want people to buy all the sets to pool the minifigures into this scene though.

I’d be surprised if characters like Shuri, M’Baku, Namor, Torres etc. make the cut for this initial wave given how large the cast is.

Overall, a smaller wave even for a big film isn’t the worst thing in the world. If that means the sets in general are tighter, with appropriately detailed minifigures and solid builds, I’m all for it. I’m glad the largest price point in this wave hasn’t been dedicated to a pointless oversized action figure the way the BND wave has.

Was really hoping that the Epic Moments set would continue the ongoing aspect of them being legacy focused, I think having them focused around upcoming movies risks inaccurate detailing as they'd presumably be working on concept art. Most the 2027 sets sound awesome because they are either comic-inspired or legacy themed, it's nice to have a break from the MCU and it's a bit unfortunate that the subtheme of 'Epic Moments' is going to be relegated to new movies also, didn't we already have the 'Final Battle' style sets for that?

If accurate then:

  • 40880 - 'Avengers: Doomsday Brickheadz'
  • 76345 - 'Avengers: Doomsday Doctor Doom Bust', 379 pieces, $49.99
  • 76347 - 'Avengers: Doomsday Vehicle set' - 433 Pieces, $59.99

  • 76352 - 'Avengers: Doomsday Avengers Tower', 954 pieces, $109.99

Spoilers due to speculation on figures following some leaked visuals, teasers, public cast list, etc:

Spoiler

Doomsday Bust:

  1. Doctor Doom (Likely the only way to get Doctor Doom until the Thor set in 2027)

Fantastic Four Excelsior Ship:
I think this makes the most sense to include two of the Fantastic Four and a few of the Wakandans judging via the teaser trailer.

  1. Susan Storm (Fantastic Four)
  2. The Thing (Fantastic Four)
  3. M'Baku (Wakandans)
  4. Shuri (Wakandans)
  5. Namor (Wakandans)

Sentinel Battle:
Ignoring Doctor Doom it appears to have 11 people in the later portion of the fight, so best case scenario would be we get them all and a Brick-Built Sentinel, but I think they won't have more than 9 figures. Some are notably lacking in detailing, such as Steve who looks like he wouldn’t need torso or leg print, so hopefully that'd mean we could include them all as figures despite the pricing. I've moved Mister Fantastic & Sam Wilson to the Avengers Tower set to be safe though.

  1. Gambit (X-Men)
  2. Nightcrawler (X-Men)
  3. Mystique (X-Men)
  4. Cyclops (X-Men)
  5. Beast (X-Men)
  6. Yelena (Thunderbolts)
  7. Steve Rodgers (Avengers)
  8. Thor (Avengers)
  9. Shang Chi (Avengers)

Avengers Towers:
Honestly expecting this to partially serve as a Thunderbolts set, having the majority of that team included.

  1. Sam Wilson (Avengers)
  2. Ant-Man (Avengers)
  3. Bucky Barnes (Thunderbolts)
  4. John Walker (Thunderbolts)
  5. Red Guardian (Thunderbolts)
  6. Sentry (Thunderbolts)
  7. Ghost (Thunderbolts)
  8. Human Torch (Fantastic Four)
  9. Mister Fantastic (Fantastic Four)

Something like this would give you:

If the epic moments set is what Scarilian suggests, I just don't see a way for this wave to include them anywhere that makes any sense. Now they could just put them somewhere that doesn't make sense, but they could also save them for a spoiler wave later on or just do the classic Lego Marvel Skip Major Characters we've been seeing. Allfather knows with only 3 normal sets this wave'll skip at least a few.

Good list, here's my guesses. Slightly less optimistic in some ways, but with the more optimistic view of compartmentalizing the teams so you can collect the ones you want. (As I still think they weren't given much concept art at first so the tower and ship are literally just thunderbolts and F4 sets, with a few extra characters hastily shoved into the tower once they got concept art if we're lucky.)

Brickheadz: Assuming it's a five pack like the star wars ones, I'm going to guess Doom, Thor, Steve Rogers, Reed Richards, and Cyclops, being similar to the trailers we've gotten and how they split up.

Vehicle Set: I would be shocked if this wasn't the F4 ship with Sue, Reed, Ben, and Johnny

New Avengers Tower: I bet this includes the Thunderbolts*/New Avengers: Yelena, Bucky, John, Bob, Ava, and Alexi. If we're lucky maybe they add a few figures- I'll guess this is the set the wakanda based guys and overflow samvengers would go in, so maybe this is where we get Shuri, Namor, or someone like Torres.

Epic Moment set: I really do hope this is

Spoiler

The leaked scene. Build is probably X-mansion rubble with two big sentinals. I would guess we could get ten figs here, so I'd say:

Steve Rogers, Thor, Gambit, Nightcrawler, Mystique, Cyclops, Shang-Chi, Beast, Reed as our only repeat, and Sam Wilson.

It's still too optimistic of a guess list, though, in my view. Actually getting most of most of the teams feels unlikely. Even as well as Lego Marvel did last January and seems to be planning next January, with all the secrecy and stuff I could see half our fig count being just Wakanda Forever and Fantastic Four figs with some of the major players left out completely because nobody told lego in time. Even getting all the thunderbolts feels optimistic to me.

I think they could skip them to include them in a potential wave 2 in 2027, or even later releases based on other scenes or moments with those characters. They have popularity enough to potentially sell another set and the scene described does not appear to have them and would probably sell without their inclusion.

We have to remember also that Secret Wars in 2027 (I'm still expecting it to be pushed back to May 2028) is coming along with the 20th anniversary of the MCU in 2028 so they'll probably throw MCU characters, legacy sets and nostalgic revisits of older sets at us over 2027 & 2028 that should cover any figures that are not included in the Doomsday wave. Though my hope still lies in them finally just giving us the Iron Man Malibu Mansion and wrapping up the Iron Man Armor collection.

I think the Doomsday sets in 2026 will cover at minimum Shuri, Namor, The Fantastic Four, the main members of the Thunderbolts and the main Avengers members. Any leftover characters will likely be back for Secret Wars or would be featured in a 'Wave 2'/Spoiler Wave.

The only MCU characters I don't think we'll ever get anytime soon will be those tied to the r-rating which is really just Deadpool and maybe Wesley Snipe's Blade. They'll probably even wind up revisiting the villains they missed from Phase 4 at some point and comic variants of any they feel are difficult to adapt.

There's a non-zero chance Deadpool is in Xmen 97 s2, given the side-teams, specifically Xforce are in it. I wouldnt be surprised if a more kid friendly appearance is used to hype the show and sell toys.

Regarding Doomsday, there's set leaks for several of the bigger scenes and if you look them up they may be an indicator of which figs end up in which sets. I'm assuming the three sets are Avengerz Tower, the Arc, and Doomsday Final Battle. No idea which could have Doom but itd be too hilariously disrespectful if he only appears in the bust.

Do we think we’re getting a second wave of Brand New Day sets down the line? Like if the villain is none of the villains who appeared in the sets?

I was sure he was in the trailer, but I looked it up and I guess it's just morph guy morphed into deadpool. Same thing they did with Magik last season.

It would be kind of cool if they used '97 to reintroduce what deadpool was like in the 90s as an actual serious mercenary. Would totally throw everyone who only knows the more recent version for a loop.

I am somewhat surprised that they haven't done more with deadpool as a funny joke character in non-R rated stuff, though. He's AT DISNEYLAND, you'd think they'd be OK having him pop up in cartoons and stuff.

I would say we're 100% getting at least one more set-

Spoiler

It turns out hulk actually is grey for at least part of the movie so I'm sure they'll do a set with him.

Maybe they'll add some hand ninjas, and depending on what happens in this movie maybe we get Man-Spider and Shathra.

I don't know if lego is actually going to do this or even if the movie would include it, but I'm really starting to think the final battle of this film will go:

Punisher and Spider-Man vs Hulk

Spider-Man ends up letting his instincts fully take over and starts man-spidering out, Shathra takes control

Punisher and Jean fight Man-Spider, who Shathra's trying to make kill Jean and MJ, Man-Spider almost kills him.

Jean unlocks MJ's memories and pushes her words into Peter's head, Peter demanspiders, Peter defeats true-form wasplike Shathra.

Probably not a wave of sets, but I could see us getting one more set in mid/late 2027 that covers the final battle. I think Lego have shot themselves in the foot if they truly intend to exclude Punisher though.

Lego have been skipping antagonists and with how much the marketing is trying to obscure a main antagonist I think there's potential that they would not have supplied Lego with concept art of the main antagonist out of concern of it leaking.

I would imagine if we do get an additional set it may not even include such an antagonist, but instead give us Spider-man, Sadie Sink, Hand Ninja, Michelle and probably re-using Scorpion as he's only available in the larger set.

Which is ironic, as if Punisher shot them it wouldn't be in the foot. (I do hope they get over it. If they can make a set for an M-rated batman game next year they can do a character who's in a spider-man movie.)
