  1. Maybe there’s a minifigure in the buildable Krypto that’ll be reused. That or there’s another smaller Superman set on the way that we haven’t heard about yet. So far there’s always been at least one other set that the modular building has shared some figures with and I’d be surprised if that trend doesn’t carry on here.
  2. SETS FOR JOKER AND SUPERMAN IN THE SAME YEAR?!?! LEGO DC IS BACK!!!!
  3. That was also in an Avengers Tower set which served as a flagship for the first three phases of the MCU. This is more likely a flagship for Superman as a character or a movie tie-in for Superman and Man of Tomorrow. James Gunn isn’t as essential to the Superman mythos as Feige has been to the MCU. Also, the MCU has far more figures in other sets they could throw in such that including Feige with new prints was actually enticing for fans. Even the most die-hard James Gunn fan is likely gonna be disappointed if new prints are wasted on a figure for him.
  4. If this does happen, odds are Lego would use existing pieces and not new prints, so it’s not likely he’d have taken up a slot that could have been used by someone else.
  5. Brainiac is probably a safe assumption, alongside other obvious ones like Superman, Lex, Lois, Clark, Jimmy, and Perry. Supergirl and Krypto probably makes the cut too. If the set is comic based, then I assume we’ll probably get a couple more villains like Zod, Bizarro, Mxyzptlk and maybe Metallo (there were hints that the new hairpiece for Two Face would appear again, so this would track) and maybe some other Superfamily members like Jonathan Kent and Powergirl. If it’s movie based, then we’ll probably get Mr Terrific, Hawkgirl, Guy Gardner, and maybe John Stewart.
  6. So, hold up. Last year we got a Superman mech and Arkham Asylum. This year Lego have us four Batmobiles with nothing except Batman. Next year we’re getting Krypto and the Daily Planet. This theme is gonna give me whiplash. Since it’s WB, there’s a nonzero chance MoT gets canned for a tax write off. You might just save your intestines yet.
  7. Daily Planet? That’s an odd name for a Batmobile.
  8. It’s not really clear where Lego does and doesn’t draw the line for certain characters. Obviously, R-rated franchises are out. However, Deadpool is best known at this point for his raunchy humor, over-the-top violence, nudity, and potty mouth. Even if he appears in a Y7 film, I feel Lego would still be hesitant to include him in a set. Same goes for Punisher. Sure, he might become best known for Spider-Man Brand New Day, but the characters whole deal is being an superhero who violently executes criminals. Seems like the type of character Lego would be hesitant to include.
  9. 20th anniversary won’t be an issue given Lego doesn’t celebrate anniversaries for the super hero theme… with the exception of Batman, obviously.
  10. Emma Frost has apparently been cast for the new movie. I wonder if this increases her odds of appearing in a set or if Lego will consider her costume inappropriate.
  11. Legacy sets don’t have to be tied to recent films to sell well. Based on what Lego keeps going back to, it seems that sets based on the first three phases of the MCU and the Raimi Spider-Man films are actually what sell the best. And there’s still plenty of material that hasn’t been covered yet or that hasn’t been covered in years and could sorely use an update.
  12. There’s plenty of Infinity Saga films to draw from.
  13. It’s also Batman. They will make a set for the old serial Batman movies from the 1940’s before we get a lot of things people here really want.
  14. I think we’ve only gotten spoiler sets once the year after a film released, and it was the Endgame set with Hulk’s helicopter and the Iron Man Infinity Gauntlet. Point being, it’s been a rare occurrence and it took Endgame of all movies for it to happen. And even then it was only one set. I wouldn’t get my hopes up for a second Brand New Day set next year mush less another Doomsday wave.
  15. Aside from the tail and skin tone, the design just doesn’t scream Nightcrawler to me at all. Now, granted, that’s far more on the design team for Doomsday than Lego, but regardless, it’s disappointing for me.
  16. Lego put in a lot of effort, I will give them that. But I can’t say I care for the designs. It also really sucks that this is our first and only Nightcrawler minifigure given he’s had a prominent role elsewhere with a much better design.
  17. Closest we’re gonna get to a Dardevil: Born Agian set.
  18. And three of the five have been used for Bruce Wayne alone (one was just Batman, but that’s still Bruce).
  19. Bruce Wayne head. That seems to be Lego’s go-to head for the super hero theme.
  20. Seems to be the set that was previously described as an epic moments set.
  21. Good chance they’re fakes, considering TheBrickReporter doesn’t have the best track record when it comes to leaks (to put it very mildly).
  22. I am. Don’t get me wrong. Cyclops was done dirty in those movies. But James Marsden was a good choice for the role and I’m glad he’s actually getting another chance at the role.
  23. Even if the DCU gets canned next year, there’s still likely going to be some films from that universe that start filming between now and then which will release after The Batman part 2 (so long as it doesn’t get pushed back again). Also, I doubt it’ll be canned. If Man of Tomorrow flops, most likely case is Gunn “decides to step down” and they bring in somebody new for a soft reboot.
  24. So glad I’m not the only one disappointed at the complete lack of women in their X-Men lineup. I can understand not having Rogue due to Anne Paquin’s health issues and not having Kitty since Elliot Page transitioned (although I still think they should have either brought him back and just have Kitty transition too, brought back one of the other actresses who played the role before him, or recast the role). But no Storm and no Jean is completely ridiculous, especially when this is supposed to be cashing in Nostalgia for the original movies and they brought back Beast and Nightcrawler who were each only in one of those movies and Gambit who wasn’t in them at all.
  25. They also made sets for Captain America: Brave New World and Fantastic 4: First Steps while skipping Superman, which was the most successful of the three.
