Hiya! So here is another "Final Mech in this Series" haha! This build was inspired by the limited gold pieces found in my parts collection. They pretty much all came from a Ninjago dragon and some Chima/ Hero Factory constraction sets but they set the tone by giving me the seed parts of the Chima lion heads at the thighs, the big claw bits at the shins, the disks on the chest, the starship bit at the midriff and the big rims on the forearms. I went on a deep dive into Bricklink to see what other parts were available in gold and started building based on what could be colour swapped as Bricklink orders came in. I took the same approach as with Zuckuss; I built the head first and then got everything else to fit which is why these two are bigger than the other Bounty Hunter mechs. My first few attempts left me a bit dejected but once I embraced more of an Episode I vibe it really opened up the options and set the direction for the rest of the build. My goal was for this build to fit into many universes including Flash Gordon, Jules Verne, Steampunk, Dieselpunk and the Dark Tower as well as Star Wars. I started this in February and he was 95% done by the end of June sans some colour swaps from incoming Bricklink orders. He stands 33cm tall and weighs 337g. The 3 minifigs are from Set 7956 Ewok Attack and building the tree took a lot longer than I thought it would! This will be on display at Brickvention in Melbourne in January. Hope you like it! Some time ago I was looking for inspiration for MOCs and game across this page of vehicle mounts in Star Wars: The Old Republic. These were fun to make as there's a huge array of designs to choose from and the colours available meant I could get away from the typical black, white & bley colouring that is common to so many SW vehicles. Here is my ever growing collection of speeder bikes from the Old Republic era with links to compare each MOC with its source material: Lhosan LC-4 & Praxon Legacy PMP-06 Pleasure Speeder & Joko TZ-8 Lergo Enforcer & Adno Windscorpion Aratech Lux & Meirm Dark Wolf Czerka Bobber & Roche Gangster Gurian Lightning & Czerka Cruiser (yes I ran out of Mandalorians) Bonus round: Finally a MOC not from the Old Republic era but here is my version of Ezra's speeder from Rebels, modified as a ride for Threepio & Artoo. You can check out more angles of each vehicle in my Flickr album.

So, I've been building little spacebikes based on this bike fairing part for a while, and by that I mean a couple years or something. IMO the motorcycle is terrible, ridiculously huge, but the fairing's good for little spacecraft. It was even used for this set 5969 prototype. anyways, group shot The Blacktron version's the definitive one. and 100% legal legos, so I used it as a base for this instructions page There's a bunch of others in my flickr gallery if anybody's bored and curious, cheers

Soundtrack The rebels of District 18: A force for change? Terrorists who challenge the rightful authority? Or just some Punk Kids playing around on tooled up speeder bikes? While certain news centres would have it that they are set on bringing about the end of society, most of these kids on custom bikes are just following an age-old path of bucking against the norm. Tuning up basic bikes and customising them into highly styled rides, groups fly the skyways and streets. Another favourite pass-time for the gangs is to race in the 'off code' zones, hitting high speeds and making dangerous manoeuvres. Few of their activities are criminal, though trespass and illegal modification of a speeder-bike are a common thread amongst the more prolific gangs. Leader of the most well known gang, The Rush, is Skeletique. A masked figure with a very recognisable bike, the spook trooper. A common sight at ride outs and street races. No one knows who he truly is, nor where he keeps such a magnificent machine. Custom built from the scrap, trash, flotsam and jetsam of District 18. The Spook Troop is a menacing machine known amongst speeder-punks for ricing prowess and wily manoeuvrability. He prefers to fly his bike in the desolate and abandoned platforms of the district when not leading a pack through the sky-ways and streets of the “civilised” city. Inspired by a crazy mix of things. Storm Hawks, Rush Runners which I came across by chance in a bargain store toy bin. Motor City which was far too short lived. A number of colourful SF comics from around the world (I collect SF art-books and comics) and the Bōsōzoku culture from Japan. Also, a whole lot of Celldweller and New Retro Wave music while I was building. (Not to mention the title track) With the LSB group contest launched I had an image of the figure I wanted to make for this ride and the idea of using the long bone elements and maybe a skull for the front of the bike. That design evolved as I was building when I realised just how cool the ghost looked at the front. With this bike hitting all the marks I set for myself, here it is!

The Double-Dome delivery bike is a very popular model for all kinds of logistical purposes with interchangeable modules for any purpose. The Velo Glace has been modified with a freezer module for ice-cream storage and delivery. The idea I had in mind for this was the sort of 50s American idyll that is so very easy to subvert (especially if you know your history). Used in the likes of Fallout and an aesthetic from a number of Utopia that is not what it seems stories. I was inspired to make an ice-cream speederbike after coming across an Ice-Cream Tuk Tuk in Criccieth when I was in north Wales on holiday last year. The “lift” provided from the trans-blue minifig head elements is also a nod to electric milk-floats, the idea I have for this vehicle is that is moves about as fast as one for safety. The additions of little pop-outs (The shell, croissant and round 1x1 tiles) are a callback to the Art Deco ice cream parlours and the like. All in all, I am happy how this one came out. Bonus! - I have uploaded a tree MOC that resembles the one here. The real-build tree had to be modified for required angles on the MOC.

I love the look of the Mandalorian on his speeder bike, as showcased in the Season 2 key art: This speeder appears in the new set "Trouble on Tatooine" (75299), and is a reasonably decent approximation considering it has to be sturdy and hold up to play. There are a few shaping inaccuracies, but that's par for the course. For reference, here's the official LEGO vehicle with no tweaks other than a hastily cobbled-together stand (and my unorthodox placement of the cape, with the left arm threading one of the neck holes to hold it at the desired display angle): The major downside, as with most LEGO speeders, is the scale! While it has some nice detail, it's simply much too large in comparison to the minifigure. The "foot pedals" (at least, that's what I presume the struts with the dark orange brackets are meant to be) are a case in point -- they're huge relative to the minifig, and nowhere near Mando's feet! So, despite the inevitability of loosing some greebling opportunities, I decided to take a stab at a scaled-down speeder bike for Mando to ride that would still successfully evoke the vehicle from the show. I also set myself the challenge of only using parts from 75299! Here's what I came up with: It's reasonably sturdy, fits both Grogu and Mando's Amban phase-pulse blaster, and the nose fortuitously lies at the correct angle. This design also allows Mando to sit a little more upright in his seat! But it's still not quite where I wanted it to be, so I did one final tweak with a few additional bars with clips, some swapped out colors, and a smooth base: Mando can now lean forward slightly as he does on the key art, which allows his cape to be properly affixed without getting crimped up. His hands still can't properly "grab" the handlebars, but it's close enough for my purposes. I'm sure I'm not the only person who has undertaken this challenge, so I'll probably be inspired to revisit this build in the future. For now, though, this makes me happy!

This is my entry for the Vastland Cross category of the Lego Speederbikes Racing League contest. The Rapid Roadhog is a fast, yet durable racing bike. Covered in a cold black steel hull, it can withstand the heat and harsh environments of the Vastlands and its powerful engine can power through the strongest sandstorm. There are spare fuel tanks mounted on the underside of the bike. In the back, it has pouches for tools and supplies and fenders protecting the main exhaust and steering thrusters. The rider, Blaze "the Beast" Samson, is a grizzled old biker who was born to ride and wears a durable helmet with HUD display for navigating through the desert as well as spiked shoulder pads for protection. Together with his bike, he poses an unstoppable force for anyone or anything that dares to get in his way.

At a recent local show, I displayed my Battle of Hoth diorama. I had about 5 imperial speeder bikes on the display that came from various sets over the years. Most of them are based on a big trike piece, and all of them lack detail. I've realised that these didn't really benefit the display, and I want something a bit better for the next time. I think one or two really well designed ones will look a lot better than a squadron of mediocre ones. I present the 74-Z speeder bike: 74-Z speeder bike by James Shields, on Flickr Although it wasn't seen in the Empire Strikes Back, there are several semi-canon sources that suggest they were used on Hoth. It's built for detail rather than robustness, and some of the connections are a little sensitive! James

Hi everyone! Here's yet another speederbike for the Racing League contest. This one is for the Overkill Oval category. The Wild Wrecker is a heavily armed, well shielded speederbike of destruction! Built around a rapid fire plasma canon and equipped with heat seeking missiles and pop-out circular saws, this mean racing machine is ready take on any opponent. It also features energy shields on the sides of the plasma canon and the driver's seat to protect them from damage. It may not be the sleekest or fastest speederbike, but it can certainly take a few hits and also deal them out tenfold! Its rider, Xorlac the Destroyer, is an intergalactic criminal who is wanted in over 20 systems with an unhealthy passion for causing mayhem and will do literally anything to cross the finish line first. Together with the Atomic Arrow and the Rapid Roadhog, this bike is part of Team Hotstreak. Here they are all together: And since I don't want to clutter up the forum with even more speederbike threads, here is my entry for the Race Team category: Team Hotstreak is comprised of a ragtag group of orange skinned aliens who have the need for speed! Fittingly, their team colors are an orange streak on a black background with glowing neon green highlights as represented on all of their vehicles and their team flag which hangs in their garage. All their vehicles use the same gamma fusion energy and the same type of hoverpad technology (a dark gray round plate with a neon green radar dish underneath). Their team number is number 3 which is marked on the side of each of their speederbikes as well as on the chest of their trusty PitBot. Also, judging from the naming convention of their bikes, they all have an affinity for alliteration. You can see them here preparing for the race in their team garage. A close up of the members of the team: Xorlac, Blaze, Jade, and their PitBot. Thanks for reading and good luck to my fellow entrants!

I. R. Gorilla, racer from the planet Epa is very good at attracting sponsorship. Though sometimes things get a little silly. I was looking through parts today, with speeder bikes on the brain and thus the K-Type bike Potassium Powered was born. I have also set myself a "challenge" to use strange parts as a MOC seed, or to take something that could be called "single use" and create something entirely different. I think this one came out pretty well! My brother was rather amused at least, apparently I've even managed to make something using the banana look cool!

First, the Speeder Bike That Looks Like It Shouldn't be Able to Balance Like That but It Does. Officer Hoodbot is along to provide an example of typical, heavily armed and stylish, modern robot police personnel. Second, the Heretic bike, in Space Police livery. I call it heretic because the bike fairing is modified. I snapped the clips on the bottom somehow, on accident, then removed them entirely to fit in the two-stud-wide chassis. While here, I would like to nominate http://alpha.brickli...em.page?P=85861 for the Nobel Peace Prize, thank you all very much for your support

I'm finally ready to introduce a new, originally-designed speeder to you straight from the classic trilogy: --Rebel Troop Carrier-- Based on the speeder used by the Rebel Alliance at Echo Base on Hoth, this speeder isn't the most recognizable among Star Wars fans, but as a vehicle from the films, as well as being featured as a design element on the Hoth maps of Star Wars: Battlefront, it is still a valuable icon of our appreciation. To date, LEGO has only released one version of this speeder. Included as a supplement in their newest hoth set, 75098, it wasn't my favorite. To me, little-to-no detail was put into the build, as it was a very simple build and, surprisingly, much smaller than I'd previously hoped it be. Needless to say, I took it upon myself to create a much more, highly-detailed rendition of the speeder. Using namely the photos of the speeder from The Empire Strikes Back and Star Wars: Battlefront, as well as inspiration from other LEGO customs designers, I think this speeder turned out great. The scale is perfect for this build. It includes spaces for 4 rebel troops and a driver, as well as 5 spots for easy blaster housing. The front of the model is a very sturdy assembly which houses the different lights seen on the original speeder. It's also built at an angle, just like the real thing. The most challenging aspect of this model was the rear side, as there is a LOT of detail to consider. In the end, I was able to synchronize detail and functionality/playability together, rather than have detail be the "sacrificial lamb: for functinality's sake. The center end opens up so there is more access from the rear side of the speeder for troop entrance. MOCpages Comments welcome. God bless.

So these are a bit old — flickr says taken in December 2012, MOCpages says posted in January 2013. But they caught my eye because I was going through all the different categories of Star Wars entries on MOCpages checking for new additions (MOCpages has a boggling number of categories so some of them literally have not been used in months, years even, which is how this MOC ended up near the top.), and I saw these great speeder bikes which had…two comments. But the photos had a little watermark in the corner, so I Googled that, and found the MOC on flickr with…two comments by other users. And I decided that despite the age, these models needed more exposure. So now you know why a six-month-old MOC is being blogged and how I found it. (And on that note, I'm sure the builder would appreciate it if you checked out his photostream, because he's got a lot of other great LEGO stuff.) Anyways, the model: I’ve built a fair number of 74-Zs myself, so I know it’s difficult to capture all the angles and curves and details in that size. James zhan has made his a bit bigger — about Miniland-scale, I think — and that’s allowed him to use those curved slopes in front, and all those different angles in the back. It’s not that these things are impossible to represent fairly accurately at minifig scale, because they certainly are. But at this scale, everything combines for a beautiful model that doesn’t look like compromises in accuracy had to be made, which in turn makes the model that much more pleasing to look at.

After building the SRV-1 and Imperial Troop Transport, I wanted to keep going and decided to start building the Kenner Mini-Rigs from the 80's. There were 9 of these total. This one and the Desert Sail Skiff didn't have numbers. The other 7 were numbered 2-8. For some reason, 1 was missing. HJR, do you know why?! The Endor Forest Ranger is cool little speeder. It featured an enclosed gyroscopic cockpit and 2 large blaster cannons. It has a very militaristic vibe to it, it looks mean, like something out of a Stormtroopers worst nightmare. Anyways, this is my take on it, it can hold a figure in the cockpit and the gyroscopic cockpit does turn. There is an axel running through the middle of the model. The hockey puck shape of the front was a pain to build. I had to try to make it hold a figure, but, small enough that it kept feel of the original. After building that, the rest was easy, but, it determined the "scale" for the model. Yes, I know the color is off, but, it is cheaper to build in grays. Plus there are more pieces/ parts available in grays than reddish browns and greens. There are 237 pieces in this model. The .lxf file is my Brickshelf folder. Hope you like, more to come tomorrow, Jamie

I don't know what to call this thing. Speeder bike? Maybe, but it's supposed to be space-capable.. any suggestions? Lego had a 'Space Speeder' in set 8400... maybe that.

Built for the Vastlands Cross category of the 2017 LEGO speeder Bike Contest over on Flickr. I decided to go with a Rock Raiders theme for my bikes this year, which was great fun. We acquired several Rock Raiders figs and some dark turquoise parts at BFVA 2016, so it was good to put them to use. The Rapid Rider is well equipped for it’s trek across the vastlands, with its chrome drills ready to decimate any obstacle in it’s path. In the unlikely event a repair is needed, there are survival supplies and tools in the satchel. It also comes with retractable landing gear for easy maintenance and landing. More pictures on Brickbuilt Thanks for looking, C&C welcome
