  1. Whenever people see my collection they always comment on how large it is (even though I'll usually only have about 5% on display at any time due to space) and I'll usually correct them by saying that it's small compared to some people's. I have (as of right now) 466 sets and including lose pieces approximately 120,000 parts. I'd consider my collection to be small. I was just wondering what other people would consider to be a "large" collection?
  2. Hello Fellow brick lovers from around the world. I am in need of assistance... particulary with LEGO flower parts... Im trying to build a LEGO MINI garden so basically 1-3 trees and garden with simple path... preferably some kind of "vignette" definetly not larger than 25x25... But my issue is what to buy for flowers and flower parts and foilage basically... I have no idea what parts go together (shaft, etc...???) And is it me or the new flowers actually looks worse than those beautiful classic ones? Also some good info for brick built tree with foilage and stuff id appreciate it.
  3. Hello all. I'm working on a car in Studio and the part number for the Porsche 963 windscreen is not in the Studio database. Has anyone successfully created on that would share the part? I downloaded Part Designer but I haven't been able to find much information on how to use it or create parts. Is there a good forum somewhere that deals with the software? Here are some pics of the Miller Motorsports Porsche 963 I'm working on. I need the windscreen to adjust the front bodywork and check my sidepod and cockpit redo. https://bricksafe.com/pages/mDaro/miller-motorsports-porsche-963 Thank you.
  4. Hello! I am a 22-year-old LEGO builder on the spectrum, I build mostly cars but I am also a fan of fantasy media and like building stuff from my favorite franchises. I only like fiction media where anything taking in the real world is relatively realistic (like The Office, with no superheroes, time machines, aliens, etc) and anything in a fictional high fantasy world (a closed fantasy world like Middle Earth, not something "isekai") can happen since it has no relation to the real world. Because of this, I feel like the only nerd who's only into a single fictional genre with very specific tastes. For example, 99% of Star Wars fans I see (something I like) are also into Marvel and superheroes (something I dislike), and whenever I see someone's LEGO MOC collection, it looks like they're practically into every movie/game series ever made! This had made it incredibly difficult for me to be myself and find friends who I can relate to, and has made the idea of attending a Comic-Con or anime convention seem impossible so I was wondering if anybody else here feels the same or know people that feel the same. Thanks.
  5. So I'm doing research on adventures and I've heard this claim thrown around before, mostly in YouTube videos. But I have absolutely no idea where the claim originated from. If someone has a lead on where it originated from that would be much appreciated.
  6. I'm building the Star Wars Dagobah Training Diorama that I bought for Christmas and I had two "ouch" moments so far. The first was the edge of a black 1x8 tile on the base poking me under the nail and the second was during the placement of the 200-something trans-green pieces for the swamp. I realized "dang, for a building toy suitable for young children Lego pieces can poke the crap out of your fingers!" and decided to make this post. What are your most physically-painful Lego building moments? I'm gonna take a guess that just like me most of them involve being poked under the nail too.
  7. Hello everybody! I have been recently thinking about building the V8 WK3 pneumatic engine, from Greek Gecko Workshops. On their page, it says that to get max RPM you need 116 psi, and you need to be able to hook the engine up to an air compressor. Does anybody know how to do this? I have not been able to find any answers. Thanks, LegoBuilder919
  8. Hello everybody. I am trying to put in a 2 speed automatic transmission, to a large MOC. I already have a 4 speed manual transmission, but it is hard to reach. I want something that when it goes up hills, it can automatically give more torque with out me having to shift it. Does anybody know how to do this? PDF instructions would be helpful. Thank you, LegoBuilder919
  9. So I want to research set from the 2000s that have the "limited Edition" or the "Special Edition" banners on them. The issue is I more or less have no idea where to start. Like when did the practice of putting a label or a banner like that start, not including multipacks. I know certain Exo force sets had the label, and I vividly remember the practice stopping in 2012 seeing i had 3 sets from that year that as a kid I know a year prior would have been labeled as such. If anyone can help me that would be great.
  10. So how was everyone’s thanksgiving I wish to know.
  11. Hi, how are you doing? So... just as a future reference point, how do you feel about self-promoting your Ideas submissions on here? Are they allowed, and- more intriguing to me- do you respect them? Is it too desperate/low-brow to you? I've been debating whether I should put any and all my future Ideas submissions on here, I'm curious what you guys think about it? Thanks, I appreciate it!
  12. Hello, I am looking for the part 4621555 but transparent. I want to change the two panels over the engine of the porsche gt3 rs so I can see it. Are there any panels like this? Greetings
  13. Lego 45803, 45568 Are these strange looking beams and lift-arms actually flexible? Could their flexibility feasibly be used in a torsion type of suspension? And to be sure, they are compatible with modern lego pins and axles, right?
  14. I have only been building my creations with EV3 but for a long time now I thought about getting a BuWizz. It's a good price right now. I'm really interested in how amazing this product is and I would be excited to make the transition to PF/BuWizz powered cars, so I have to get a servo motor and a few L motors to go with it. What is your opinion on buying a BuWizz 2.0? What PF parts should I buy to go with it to make car MOCs? Thank you for your feedback.
  15. I thought for some bit about getting 42110. As a car enthusiast and MOC builder, I have always loved the Technic manufacturer cars, owning the Arocs, Porsche, Bugatti, and even the Corvette. All those sets wielded me some very useful pieces to make future MOCs with. However, the Land Rover set doesn't seem like a good buy for me... I have a lot of Lego already. It's expensive. I'm not into Land Rover, even though I think the new Defender is cool. The pieces. The lockable differential and the new wheels are the only pieces that I can find use with, and there's not many good ideas I have for green MOCs. I thought about getting the Porsche 911 RSR instead because of its white pieces, but the fenders have prints. So I guess I'll take a pass on both cars, what is your opinion on the new Defender set?
  16. Hi, I hope this is the right place to ask this question: I want to get back into Lego technic, more than a decade ago, I was an avid builder and enthusiast, but I no longer own any Lego, and haven't had any chance to get back into it, due to work-life-balance-issues. However, I am now presented with the opportunity to get back into it, and I am quite floored by all the available models, MOCS and whatnot, so I'd like to ask, which model would be a good starting point for someone who enjoys the build most of all. Preferably, I'd love to buy one set with a few quality B- and C- and D- models, which I can build, re-build and thus get my Lego groove on again. Budget isn't too much of a concern, though if possible I'd like to stick to below 250€, and I'd very much enjoy something with a few functions, gears and intricacies. So far, I looked at: 42043 - seems it increased in price but is still held in high regard, but is it worth the asking price of 250€? 42100 - apparently enormous, but I read quite a few mixed reviews when it comes to functionality. Can be had used for 250+- 42082 can be had for 150ish used, seems to provide a few fun functions and a good few b and c models 42055 seems like a behemoth with a lot of functions, can be had for 200€ used. so, any recommendations on where to get started again, with only one set?
  17. I have a small IT class project for school where I have to program an EV3 robot through the small basic extension. I want the robot to play a sound file (a short rsf file) but I don't have access to all of the folders nor do I have access to the EV3 software... The sound file I want to play was made at home using the EV3 software but I can't use the exported rsf in my code for some reason. I have tried several things but without access to all the folders (I can reach several folders but not through the root so I can't reach the sounds folder) and the EV3 software I'm stuck... Can anyone help me with the rsf without saving it in the sounds folder?
  18. Hello, I am just getting back into Legos and wondering about the extent of other people's collections. How many Legos do people have? How long does it take to sort your collection? How do you sort your collection? Is there any kind of automated way to sort besides the DIY machines on Youtube? How much space does Lego sorting take up?
  19. I like to use my figure for lightsaber battles but after a while the hands get loose. Is there any way to increase the friction on the hands so it doesn't twist so quickly? Thanks
  20. So I've been working on a black steam train using the gear system from the emerald night train design while it runs fine on straight track it slows to stops around corners It was using the same xl motor design although I did tests with a pf train motor b it the same results (removed the Pistons etc) but no luck Hoping to get some advice as this is my first moc train and I have a upcoming show this month and like it running along with my other trains (white bullet train and winter train)
  21. I was searching for offers on the out-door suspension and noticed that there are only two sets that include it but I only knew about the bike one. So I checked the building instructions of the 8369 set and omg what is that system? Is that even qualify(of course it does because it's Lego) as Lego? So if anyone can provide info about this strange system I would be really thankful.
  22. Hi Everyone, I have a set of exclusive LEGO items from the 2010 lego inside tour, including a signed exclusive set that is 9/30. I am looking to sell. Is anyone here an evaluator for lego or know the best way to go about this? I am happy to pay for this service, Thanks!
  23. I have an android smartphone with an ir blaster and the rcx uses ir so can I control it with my smartphone? If I have to use some specific tools or need to do something complicated so it'll work I can.
  24. How does one get the "LDD Builder" tag? I build frequently in LDD and would love to know. Thanks in advance! VF-2187
  25. Not really, but I found out that the motors in my GX EV3 peform better in IR Control mode than how they do in my program, and I believe that it is because the motor power is different. Each block in the EV3 programming software that moves the motors has a digit for how much power each motor should have. I'm wondering what this digit is in IR Control mode, because the motors act much better in this mode than how the do in the program. If anyone here knows the power of the motors when the EV3 brick is in this mode, please reply as soon as possible. It would be very appreciated.
