  1. Great models, nice storyline. As for the Photoshop, if you'll allow me, might I suggest using quickmask or some of the lasso tools to select the backgrounds before deleting them-- you'll get a cleaner edge and less of that extraneous residue on your images.
  2. Stunning-- your castle is SO entertaining! Just flipping through the gallery is like watching a little movie, as so many facets of it tell all of these great little stories. Well done!
  3. 6754 is a great set, but Winter Toy Shop is a legend. You might argue it's one of the most important sets TLG has released in the last three years. Plus You'll probably be able to pick up the Family House later on the secondary market still at a fairly low price, but the Toy Shop will probably only climb in market value over the years. If you ask me, it's a no-brainer.
  4. Great selection of figs as well as accessories... I'm not even a castle fan but will definitely consider this one. Thanks for the influential review!
  5. Well boys, got back from TRU about an hour ago, and I was in luck. They had one box that had been picked through quite a bit, but I did manage to identify what I think were 12 separate barcodes, and just grabbed every different one I saw, plus one more that I think was a Spartan. It was hard to tell-- I actually resized Grogall's chart down to my phone's background size for reference, but it didn't show up quite right. The barcodes seemed a bit different in their spacing-- if there were three small ones followed by a fat one, they'd all be there, BUT the spacing seemed to be off. I'm not sure if it was my doing with the resizing or not. I'm about to go down now and go through my plunder. HUZZAHHH!! EDIT: Three doubles-- the spartan, the karate kid, and the vampire. All not bad, but at $2.99 each I was hoping to get as close of a set as possible. Still in need of the adventurer, the skiier, the witch, the surfer, the popstar, and the pharaoh. Early on the spartan is the clear favorite, with disco stu or the vampire being a close second. Ringleader is a great fig too.
  6. Yeah, it's never been about digits for me... just about identifying the visual appearance by eye. Last time around I actually got pretty good at identifying some from memory, such as the Woodsman and Indian. Gotta do your homework, kids!!
  7. Didn't have the numbers? No barcode at all??? Santhor, friend, what's up with that??
  8. The Brotherhood!! What a great game... gotta keep an eye out for those Fire Ants. Welcome and have a great time here at EB
  9. Welcome! I too look forward to one day retiring so I can spend more time being a kid, haha!
  10. Great little set. I have it, and only wish I had an Armada ship or two just to add another faction to my Pirate world... I have managed to create another Spaniard soldier just by using the armor from the Fenrir Wolf viking and an extra conquistador helm from a skeleton somewhere (Stingray Explorer?) Would love to see these guys return once all of the Johnny Depp hoopla dies back down...
  11. I have one... it's used, stored in tupperware. Box is gone, but booklet is complete. Won't lie-- my favorite thing about the set is the figs-- actually Lando, not Boba Fett. There's just something so cool about each of the three Lando figs, they're among my favorites of the line. EDIT: Fixed the post-- sorry That Guy.
  12. Seems very likely... but I'll reserve suspicion until the official press release rolls out.
  13. Aquanauts. Crystal Explorer is a KILLER set.
  14. 7128 Speeder Bikes -- that was the set that put the whole ball back in motion for me. I'd been out of Lego for a long time, only toying a bit with Aquazone and Pirates in the 90s. Then, walking one day through a drug store, I saw this set and just had to have it. There was just something about the Biker Scout minifigs that demanded my patronage. I didn't even know they started a license with Star Wars. But I was positively hooked, connecting in a way with Star Wars that I hadn't felt since I was 7 years old. I quickly backtracked to snatch up every set in the line, and have remained faithful to pretty much every OT set for the past 10 years. Sometime last year, I began to grow weary of LSW, most likely because of the exorbitant prices. I harmlessly grew addicted to the new Pirates line, and spent most of my summer putting together a proper Redcoat army. And then the license was axed, and almost washed my hands of the whole hobby... Then, I one day picked up the red Sports Car, and suddenly CITY had saved the day!! I can't believe I'd never noticed how great the old faithful line had become over the past 5 years. I'm now a primary City enthusiast, and look forward to building onto all of the wonderfully designed city sets I've been able to get a hold of.
  15. Ha! Got mine on Wednesday-- my wife and I agreed to put it away until after Thanksgiving, so we can truly enjoy it for all its yuletide glory. What amazed me is how much SHE wanted open it- Might be able to convert her after all
  16. Man, a few weeks ago I had the chance to get the Farm for about half price on clearance at TRU, but talked myself out of it. I now find myself thinking about it ever since... *sigh*
  17. Thank you Aggie... Let the games begin.
  18. Just thought of one the other day after thinking about Series 3: Occupation: SPORTS MASCOT Gender: Male or Female Headgear: Large costumed mascot head, perhaps a dog or baseball for a head Expression: Smiling and sweating Color on Legs/Torso: Cartoonish mascot outfit, with or without a baseball shirt and preferably matching the color scheme of the Series 3 Baseball player Accessory: A pennant
  19. VICTORY IS MINE!!! YAAHAAAA!!!! I actually live close to a distribution center and will be receiving this tomorrow... Unbelievable how quickly this happened. Thanks again to ComputerShopper and Edmond Dantes for the tip on such a rare opportunity! Really appreciate it!
  20. 12 SPARTANS???? Already??? We haven't even seen the first bag of 'em yet over here stateside! All kidding aside, great and thorough reviews. Thanks.
  21. We acknowledge and appreciate your wisdom and clairvoyance, grogall. Now, what else can you see in that crystal ball about next year??
  22. Got mine too... although I'll feel a whole lot better when it's confirmed and shipped. All of these lightning strikes on their online inventory may mean that not all of the orders get filled. Still... FANTASTIC!!
  23. Hello friends... just thought it was worth sharing that the American TRU site now has the Advent Calendar listed as IN STOCK. $34.99 USD ... I'm hoping that means about $29.99 in Target and other stores.
  24. I'm in the same boat as you Santhor. I really wasn't into City last year but REALLY want this thing now (esp with the Bakery looming), and the last thing I want to have to do is go to the secondary market and pay above list prices. The fact that TLC has said "no, never, never" to you is not encouraging, but I'm still holding out hope that Target TRU, or (gulp) even WalMart will save the day.
  25. Great idea-- I could only imagine how they'd brick-build all those crazy arms and gadgets. And how 'bout a minifig with a big hole in his smile!
