Last night I found myself standing in TRU, torn between the 7307 Duel in the Air and the 7286 Prison Transport. Ultimately I decided to go with the Pharaoh's Quest set, only because I figured there was a more likely chance to see the City set cheaper in the weeks to come either in Target or WalMart. Pretty nice set, FANTASTIC minifigs, and the plane is a pretty nice design (I must admit, part of me wanted it just to give to the Pilot/Mountaineer dude in Series 3. My only complaint is, WOW, sure this isn't a licensed set?? Once it's completed and on the table, looks a lot more like a $12 or $15 set than $20.

Thanks, I'll be here all week. Please tip your waiters and/or moderators

I am ALL over this, obviously... Possibly my favorite new set of the year, just because I've wanted something along these lines for... well, ever. Just wish there was a little dock on there as well, and it probably could've looked a bit better with more of the traditional log wall bricks we've seen so much in the Western and Pirate sets. The fig is okay... but as far as I'm concerned, this is where the dude with the 3178 Seaplane lives...

Thanks for the great new detailed pics, Jargon! For those that haven't seen it yet, the baseball team's name is the "CLUTCHERS." Personally, I'd love to know the backstory behind that moniker... EDIT: Looks like we've found another easter egg... the race car driver's name is on his belt. Who is N. Groves, anyway? Mysteries abound.... -
REVIEW: 7327 Scorpion Pyramid
Mr. Elijah Timms replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Great review as always Hinckley. I am blown away by the Anubis fig... MINIFIG OF THE YEAR? Even over the Collectibles? Even over the new Boba? -

Actually, Series 4 packages are equipped with a cloaking device. They've actually been on shelves for the past three weeks and no one has yet to find them. -
The black anubis warrior is easily one of the most badass minifigs they've ever released. Let's officially call it a crime that you can only get one, or two for that matter, by getting the pyramid set, which to my estimation is just a little to meh for my taste.

Not so sure about that Europe bit-- it seems to have been predominantly in the American Northwest, with speculation claiming that its proximity to China made distribution possible there. Whether or not the vendor (store called Fred Myers) released them prematurely is anyone's guess. -
LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean video game
Mr. Elijah Timms replied to riversarl's topic in LEGO Pirates
Let's forget the upcoming toy line and just think about the game.... This could very well become the best Lego video game produced, even better than Batman-- even better than the OT Star Wars! Looking forward to it! -

TLG's not stupid... They'll sell a mountain of these guys in the U.S. if they can get 'em out by next Friday, and keep them stocked throughout the holiday season. There's a chance that the moms out shopping won't really know what they are, especially if they don't show up in the weekly ads-- but I could certainly see this getting really intense trying to track an entire set down in the midst of the holiday toy shopping season. Forgive me ahead of time if I have to take out a soccer mom to get myself a fisherman, haha!! -

WOW-- totally didn't expect these to break before the New Year, let alone before Thanksgiving. Any sightings on the East Coast? -

So yeah, good luck to all of us being satisfied with just one... I'm sure we'll all be satisfied with that and won't go crazy trying to find at least the requisite 3... -

Huge news... HUGE! Ice Hockey Player, Werewolf, Artist, even the Garden Gnome sounds great!!! -
Great! Thanks for the pics... I'm really liking that Prisoner Transport, and I'll probably get the K-9 truck and the minifig set as well. But, wait, wasn't there a Police Boat coming this year as well?

Lego Creator Family Home (#6754) listed as SOLD OUT
Mr. Elijah Timms replied to Locutis's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Yes, 30%... also for the 7743 Police Command Center and (listed as 33% OFF on the front page) for the 7642 Garage, as I listed in that set's Review thread earlier today. Also, I posted yesterday that Target (US, obviously) is offering the 7097 Troll's Mountain Fortress for $64 while supplies last on Black Friday, and another Space Police set that I can't remember. -
Lego Creator Family Home (#6754) listed as SOLD OUT
Mr. Elijah Timms replied to Locutis's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Strange... this set was also listed in Toys R Us's 2010 Black Friday ad, for 30% OFF the original price. Certainly seems to be the last of the North American stock, then... -
Just thought it was worth sharing with all my friends at EB... I've just seen the TOYS R US 2010 BLACK FRIDAY U.S. ad, and this set is listed at 33% OFF from the list price of $104.99, putting it down to a comfy $70 US. Not bad for a set that's been far too overpriced in the past anyway... Good luck, as it's only on sale from Thurs. (Thanksgiving night) from 10pm to Fri at 1pm, and will likely be sold out before then. Happy Hunting!

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 3 poll
Mr. Elijah Timms replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Certainly the Elf is the clear-cut winner among the new series... It's almost more interesting to see who finishes second. As for the 'Best Series Ever' question, which is a good one, I had to go with the first. There was just something magical about it-- something fun and innocent and they all just seemed to go together in some strange weird inexplicable way. The second just didn't have the same level of charm from top to bottom, and I just don't see it in this range either. But that won't stop me from doing my best to track 'em all down, of course... -
REVIEW Castle 7097 - Trolls' Mountain Fortress
Mr. Elijah Timms replied to Svelte's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Probably worth sharing with you guys-- I've just seen an advance copy of Target's US Black Friday 2010 ad, and they're listing this set for $64.99 while supplies last..... Might be worth getting finally at the lowered price, but it'll have to be an early wake-up to do so... -
Thanks gentlemen... certainly you've all confirmed what I think I already knew-- there's a handful of Dragon Knights that are finally going to find a home. Aaaaahhhhh Maybe once they get settled, there'll be some princesses to torture or some burning sulfur to pour on the enemy... Man, I promised I wouldn't get emotional, but...
-
Quick question, my friends... I feel a purchase coming on. Do I go with 7947 Prison Tower Rescue, the 7207 Fire Boat, or do I save up funds for the 8404 Public Transport? I must admit, I'm not entirely sure about the Public Transport, but I'm trying to convince myself to stick within the realm of City... but at the same time I'm just a big fan of Dragon Knights. Any suggestions to either side of the argument?
-
I didn't want to get involved in any of this Kingdoms business-- really I didn't-- but I'm sure you can all guess how that turned out At any rate, I really wish they put the Battle Packs in TRU or even traditional retail outlets. I'd go for at least 2 just to build up the Dragon Knights!!

So have we confirmed that this list is NOT legitimate? -
I wonder if they'll get printed bricks-- stickers are hard enough WITH gravity, couldn't imagine putting them on without it
