LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 3 discussion
Mr. Elijah Timms replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in Special LEGO Themes
VERY important question, nausicaakro, if you can answer it-- what's the color scheme of the baseball player??? -
All of those ramparts and bombs in the air-- it's like a literal interpretation of the Star Spangled Banner in the Lego medium. Stunning!
-
Pharoah's quest sounds like a great movie-merchandising tie-in, just without the movie! Can't wait to see the figures, esp. the adventurer protagonists...

GOOGLE TRANSLATION, for whomever might want it: Hmmmmmmmmmmmm... very interesting. Want to give full credit to Fugazi again for the find.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 3 discussion
Mr. Elijah Timms replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Some thoughts: Really curious to see what this whole half-man, half-robot thing is all about... As a kid I once took some Testor's silver model paint to a policeman fig with less than stellar results, and I can only hope this will succeed where I failed. Early on it seems like the least sought after figs, aka the ones I'll get stuck with the most (esp if there's no way to discern one from another without the UPCs), would be the Ferrari driver and the rapper. But we'll have to wait and see. I was really excited about the artist figure... ah well, maybe he'll be included in the fourth? Obviously the elf will be the 'spartan' or army builder of the series, but I don't think I'll go beyond more than 2 or 3. I just grabbed my 4th Spartan last night and now have doubles of almost the entire 2nd series, and I gotta tell ya, I feel a little remorse over it. Like I got caught up into the whole 'collector' fuss. If there's any figure I might consider grabbing high multiples of, it might be the baseball player. I'm not even much of a baseball fan, BUT there's something kinda cool about getting nine players, enough for a whole hometown team of my town. I guess it'll really come down to the uniform colors-- Klaus?? GORILLA!! Looking forward to it... either with the budding circus being built up in the collectible series, or among the monkeys on Enchanted Island. -

Review: Neptune Discovery Lab

Another one of those sets from the past that everyone loves, but no one seems to have had back then. I had most of the Aquanauts theme save for this gem. Great review! -

How about those crazy marbled blue and white molded rock/ice pieces from 7666 Hoth Rebel Base?? -
My Pirates collection (and naming ships)

If (and when) I ever get myself an Imperial Flagship, you can be sure she'll be christened the Nimrod. -
Agreed... it's time to start knocking out the remaining scenes and/or characters from the OT, and in light of TLG finally addressing the Hoth environment, my Top 3 are as follows: 1. Jabba's Palace: The first palace was pretty bare, and could certainly use a makeover. Plus many of the motley crew of Jabba's court have yet to be produced, such as the Max Rebo band, the skiff guards, and certainly last but not least, Leia in the Boussh disguise. 2. Mos Eisley Cantina: Again, the cantina band is classic!! Plus, who is Obi-Wan supposed to turn to when he feels like slicing off a few appendages? There's so many great creatures in that scene, so many possibilities for minifigs. I'd also love to see them finally do the Imperial spy that sells Han & Luke out! 3. The Ewok Village: Yes, love it or hate it, it's part of the Original Trilogy, and we've yet to see it addressed in official Lego form (no disrespect intended, ACPin). Lots of trees, lots of leaf pieces, and lots of fuzzy little bears, some gray, some brown, some black, some striped, etc. Throw in a biker scout or two, and maybe even Han in the long brown coat to make it interesting. Thoughts?

My complete collection of Star Wars Minifigs
Mr. Elijah Timms replied to Skafte's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Very impressive!! Mine is somewhere around 150+, but that's only OT. And I'm amazed at the effort of alphabetizing every one of them-- I could never have the patience for it!! -
I'd have to agree... I just don't see my growing city as a coastal town... riverside, maybe. BUT at the same time, some nice sets might convince me otherwise. On the other hand, certainly every city needs a hospital, esp. with all these outbreaks of zombies, robots, and time-displaced spartans. I can't believe my city has a truck just to change the bulbs on the streetlights, but not an ambulance!

Beautiful, nostalgic, epic... I grasp for the words to do them justice. Also have a bit of an admission... My name is Elijah Timms and I have never owned a bluecoat. There, I said it...

LEGO Collectable Minifigures General Discussion
Mr. Elijah Timms replied to Nabii's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I checked a local Target yesterday just for fun... in the Halloween section they did indeed have a cardboard 'bin' area labelled minifig vol. 2, $1.99(USD), and it was empty. They did have the Atlantis and World Racer bagged impulse sets though. Keep an eye on them, it seems as though they'll be making their way in soon. -
I've said it before, I'll say it again... we got the Tauntaun, the Wampa, even the Dewback-- It's time for a BANTHA RIDERS set! Three Tusken Raiders, The Bantha with plenty of room for their gear, maybe even a Jawa or another moisture vaporator apparatus thrown in for good measure. More new OT sets!!

REVIEW: 8684 LEGO Minifigures Series 2
Mr. Elijah Timms replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Finished the collection by picking up the remainders of the set. My initial thoughts: The adventurer is a pretty great fig. Great colors, great print on the torso, funny face. The skiier is outstanding, primarily because of his accessories. Possibly my 2nd favorite besides the Spartan. Also, the surfer is great-- such great characterization in the entire design. Every time you pick him up you wanna say 'Duuuuuude.' -
REVIEW: 8684 LEGO Minifigures Series 2

I will say this about the spartan-- the poseability is something of an issue. The cape and the spear just don't play that well together. BUT either way it's easily one of the highlights of both series, no question. -
Very nice-- Makes the Marty McFly in me want to 'Save the Clock Tower!'

Haven't heard anything about this?? Is this a full-blown console game like SW, Indy and Harry Potter? Or just a little DS fun for the kids?
