  1. Hey guys-- new to the site and happy to be here. Actually I've been reading this site for years, and I'm sure you'll all be proud to know that although I found this place as a StarWars collector, it is my new fondness of the City sets that have finally inspired me to register! So I've been reading this topic for a fairly long time as well, and now that I'm here I have to weigh in my thoughts. Going back to almost the first page, there was talk of a camping theme. Now, I know we have the lime green-accented camper and all that, but I'm thinking there's plenty of room there to work with. I envision an entire series based off of a mountain lake retreat concept: 1. We could have a forest clearing where a pack of scouts are setting up camp for the night (and perhaps a bear wanders in to eat their frankfurters). 2. A fishing boat where perhaps father and son are looking for the big catch, complete with the fish or even an old tire for the boy to reel in. 3. A beautiful lakeside cabin complete with a small dock on the water, just the right size for my gold seaplane to be tied down to. Naturally, it would need a few raccoons breaking into the garbage around back. 4. To top it all off, the main set for the series would be a forest ranger station with a rugged 4x4 parked in the driveway and a nice tower to inspect the surrounding forest. Bears, snakes, beavers, or perhaps even an otter or skunk would be nearby in the woods. I'm sure there's more ideas that could branch off of this as well. It just seems that Lego has done quite a bit of beachfront holiday locations, but have never addressed the mountain concept. I'd certainly be interested, and could definitely see this being built into the outskirts of any decent Lego city.
  2. Hey guys, new to the site and happy to be here. Like many of you, I'm very excited about the new minifig series and have several favorites in mind, probably not the same as others. I was wondering what specific plans anyone/everyone has with these new minifigs and how they plan on implementing them into their displays or collections? Obviously I could see a small pack of zombies invading the movie theater or another part of town, and perhaps putting a magician or the clown on a street corner doing tricks or entertaining kids. Any other ideas on how to put some of the more unique figures to use in a town display? I mean, the wrestler is SO COOL but without building a ring or something to that effect, I'm stumped at how he'll fit into my plans (not like that's going to stop me from picking one up).
  3. Hello everyone-- just wanted to say hello and write my first post. I've been reading here for a long time, but finally decided to take the plunge and sign up! As for the Lego, I received my first set over thirty years ago as a very small boy and managed to have a great childhood filled with Classic Space, The original Knight's Joust, Knight's Castle, and even the old Motorcycle Shop. I then spent several years dabbling in Classic Pirates and the original Aquanauts line before discovering Lego Star Wars as an adult. Since then I've managed to collect just about every Original Trilogy set except Droid Escape, Jabba's Skiff (or whatever it was called), Imperial Inspection, the original Falcon and B-Wing, the walking AT-AT, and a few others. Otherwise I think I have the entire run. I don't think I'm going to do the Death Star because it might be unhealthy for my marriage to spend that much on a hobby , and I'm still debating whether or not to go after the Rebel Blockade Runner. Along the way I've enjoyed integrating the new Pirate sets with the old, and have since become a true City enthusiast. In fact, it's the City stuff that's finally driven me to join up. So at any rate, if you see me around, please feel free to say hello. Although I am new, I have been reading for some time and am familiar with many of the personalities among the community and hope to become one myself. Thanks again!
