  1. WOW! I am in absolutely no way a Harry Potter guy, but I must say that's an astounding set right there! If it weren't so expensive, I could certainly see myself picking one up just to implement these buildings in my town layout. I can't tell which three of the buildings I like the most!
  2. MOS EISLEY Yep, pretty much a given we all want this. Lots of new faces, lots bizarre aliens, and maybe even a few add-ons like the cantina band or the Imperial spy. JABBA'S PALACE A new design, more true to the film and loaded with Ree-Yees and Niktos and Weequays, not to mention the first appearance of Leia in the Boushh disguise, and finally, yes, THE RANCOR (maybe even as a second set with the Keeper, Oola, and Luke?) These last three are all a toss-up for me: EWOK VILLAGE Again, no secret here that we're all looking to fill in the blanks to what's been offered before. New ewoks, the chair for C3P0 and the fire pit to cook Han on, the long-haired Leia, and as someone mentioned above, perhaps even going so far as the funeral pyre for Vader. ESB REBEL TRANSPORT I'm sure many of you can rattle off the exact name and specifications of these ships, but I think you all know what I'm talking about-- the long, rounded white transports that the Rebels used to flee from Hoth. What would really be great is if they doubled the inside as a Hoth medical wing and threw in the Bacta tank, Luke, and the 2-1B droid. THE LARS' HOMESTEAD The iconic structure, with Luke standing there staring off into the twin suns. Complete with Aunt Beru in her kitchen preparing some blue milk, the old family speeder, Uncle Owen with some moisture vaporators, maybe finally that weird white droid with the funny eyes and face, and (if my prayers came true) the epic BANTHA and SAND PEOPLE RIDERS I've been asking for for the past five years... now THAT would be a good-looking set.
  3. Speak for yourself... I'll buy a winter set every year until there's a nice little village all nestled around my tree, and hopefully with a beautiful new PF holiday train encircling it. I think they're onto something here, and we haven't even begun to see the best of that series yet.
  4. Seems like they're reconstructed sets... Intriguing... thanks again as always grogall. How helpful are you?????
  5. Wow... ever order there before????
  6. Nice work grogall... now work your magic and get the 10173 Holiday Train back in stores for us next!
  7. I know the OP was off-topic, but it's worth mentioning that the above statement isn't entirely true. I give you Endor Luke, courtesy of 1999's 7128 Speeder Bikes (my first LSW set, if I recall):
  8. Agreed-- Sure hope that headpiece isn't only available in the pyramid, because that's not going to be on my list. LOVE the biplane, and some of the vehicles look pretty sharp too! EDIT: Anyone else notice the driver of the vehicle beside the sphinx statue?? Looks like he's got sideburns, maybe even a soul patch-- either way it appears to be a new head print? Or am I wrong?
  9. The dojo is pretty cool-- love the white ninja-- but otherwise I don't think this is the theme for me. I was REALLY hoping for nunchaku, but ah well. Congrats to all the guys that are excited for these guys.
  10. I'm with you, except for the part about being excited. I'll probably grab the van and leave the stickers off, just to make it a civilian vehicle.
  11. Can't wait to see that Red Jeep... the vehicles might be the real stars of this theme. Personally I don't have the time, resources or closet space to start a new theme, but this sounds very exciting!
  12. You guys have it all wrong... isn't that an Ewok?? PS (no of course I'm not serious)
  13. Hey KimT, I have a question: Been a fan for a long time. There once was an age where I had no desire to join EB and simply checked in here just to read the SW rumors thread. Thanks for all the info over the years. Anyway... What do you think the ratio is here at EB Star Wars for builders/fans of the OT versus the Prequel/EU/Clone Wars crowd?? I've never hid the fact that I'm strictly an OT guy and am not much of a LSW collector any longer. I'm beginning to wonder if TLG and Lucasfilm in general have done a good enough job marketing and developing new fans with new content that they're not worried about the original Star Wars collector generation moving on/letting go? Have they effectively developed a new core audience?
  14. These orange and purple ninjas fighting undead nazi skeletons riding monstrous chopper cycles are not at all historically accurate!! I'm beginning to think that TLG isn't even creating this line for adult history buffs!!!! Well, yeah. Maybe, just maybe, these are for the kids...?
  15. If Lego truly does beat the whole UPC idea for Series 3, and we have no ability to know what's in each bag w/o feeling through them... I wouldn't be at all surprised to see the Collectible Minifigs die down in hype and overall sales. I'm sure I'm not the only one who's going to have a certain threshold for how much money to spend on these before giving up on frustration. I'm not going to get stuck with 8 cyborgs just trying to get the last of the collection or something. This round could certainly be telling for the future of the entire CM line.
  16. HAHA! I must say, I find this entire conversation entirely demeaning and bigoted towards elven folk as a whole, and regardless of any elf's individual otological appearance, they deserve to be represented in minifig form just like the rest of us! My advice to all of the antagonists in this case to pipe down before they draw the attention of the NAAEP (National Association for the Advancement of Elven People), and then things'll really get ugly. i.e. DUDE, it's a little plastic toy. And you're not even getting upset about the entire toy, just its ears. DUUUDE.
  17. HEY! Just realized-- no circus-related fig this round.... Guess they're not leading up to something after all.
  18. The Block House doesn't seem to be nearly as large as the other Creator sets, also-- could we dare to dream a $20 USD Creator house?? (Probably closer to 25?)
  19. Thanks Nausicaakro! My initial thoughts are as follows: 1) HULA GIRL - Great fig, love the grass skirt. Still, a ukelele would've made this a '10.' 2) TRIBAL CHIEF - Never had a headdress, as I missed out on Western. Great fig but don't love the accessories-- in a perfect world that spear is temporary, and will be replaced with a brown one and maybe a shield w/ a dreamcatcher print. 3)SAMURAI - Epic, missed out on these guys also. Would love something unique to clip onto the front of the helmet, but otherwise looks really solid. Certainly would like multiples. 4) ACE PILOT - Dying to get a closer look at the backpack. I love older faces because it just adds diversity to your fig collection, so I could definitely see grabbing an extra or two just for the head, or for the beautiful torso print. 5) FISHERMAN - Certainly a pleasant surprise that this fig is as great as it is. The beard is great (I could see this finding its way onto the Advent set's Santa next year), the light blue with the orange overalls looks like an entirely new possibility for workers, plus I've never seen the brownie cap in blue before. Great job, TLG! 6) CYBORG? - Very strange, seems a bit too specific and hard to identify. It almost reminds me of CopMike's old thread about minifig possibilities, when these people would suggest insanely specialized concepts that would be hard to identify at first glance. Like, what is this guy??? I will say that TLG could help things along by printing a half-robot head piece to snap onto the top of the existing one... could be interesting. Maybe. 7) SNOWBOARDER GIRL - Great figure, great accessory. Could also see this torso looking really good with all of our extra popstar's pink pants from series 2! 8) RACE CAR DRIVER - Possibly my least favorite of the series, although I LOVE the new hairpiece! 9) STREET BOY - So funny! I know that we stick with yellow outside of licensed themes, but I can't help but wonder how good this would look if his skin was brown like Lando! Favorite part is probably the ballcap, but the torso is interesting too! Very curious to see if the boombox is brickbuilt or one huge piece. 10) ELF - Congrats, TLG... you've actually outdone the hype of the Spartan. Simply a '10.' This figure could take army-building to an extreme level across the globe. I'd bet my 10199 that the ears are part of the hairpiece. Fantastic torso print down onto the legs, BTW 11) SUMO WRESTLER - Not entirely fair to judge just according to this one blurry image, but this is possibly my least favorite. Still, the hair would probably look good on an unhelmed samurai, and the torso will go a long way in creating one of the lazier members of my pirate crew. 12) ALIEN - Epic fail. If we wanted a squidman, we can get one in SP. I'm hoping this is just temporary while they work up a proper eggheaded, bug-eyed 'little green man'-esque head. Was also hoping for little legs too. As it stands, this could become the first of the Collectible Minifigs series that I pass on. 13) MUMMY - Awesome print! Like others said, he'll go great with the other Halloween-esque figs such as the vampire, witch and zombie. I'm calling it now-- Series 4 will bring either a Frankenstein character or some sort of wolfman. 14) TENNIS GIRL - Outstanding figure, as much for the diversity she can bring to our City collection female figs as for the design itself. Interested in seeing how the hair looks from the back, but otherwise a beautiful figure. 15) BASEBALL PLAYER - Detail is outstanding, and the bat looks good too. Only thing keeping this from a '10' is some sort of clip-on baseball glove or something, but even so I'm wondering how hard it'll be to get a hold of 9 and put forth a whole squad of my City's hometown stars. Love to see a catcher in a future series, with a big catcher's glove and the mask clipped on over his face. 16) GORILLA - Very interesting headpiece. I'm betting the 'eyes' are actually big holes in the gray of the face/mask and the dark black is on the head itself (like the Biker Scout mask/head assembly). if so, don't expect the head below to look great on its own, AND don't expect the gorilla 'mask' to look as good on another fig's head. All in all a pretty nice variety as before. Now that we've seen prelims of the figures, the next big question is how do we solve the UPC Removal issue? Will we really have to go into these blind, or only by feeling up the bags? If so, I have a feeling we're all going to get really really good at feeling out the bow piece, right?
  20. Is that my log cabin wish come true, after all???? I see there's some blue plate on the alternate models-- Does it have a little dock?? Edit by WhiteFang: Removed deeplink preliminary confidential TLG images.
  21. I've decided to stop this week at 7 Spartans. Gave the officer a dark pearl sword from the Dragon Knights, looks great!
  22. DUDE, this is torture! How long does it take for a new Brickset folder to become available to the public???
  23. (Your folder isn't public... cant' see anything).
  24. Thanks man... for me it seems like the one I'd like multiples of the most. Certainly we're all concerned with how to tell them apart w/o the UPC codes, but you have to believe/hope someone's going to figure it out when they hit the shelves in Europe.
  25. It's hard to speculate on next year, and how much money I'll be spending on the City line. 2010 was my first foray into City so obviously I spent a pretty penny picking up what seems like just about everything that's been available on regular shelves. Moving into next year, I see myself being much more conservative-- at first glance the only thing that seems like a must-have is the prison transport truck, maybe the police figure collection. I just picked up the Police HQ and the command center and am very satisfied with it, so why would I get the new ones? The boat looks pretty cool, but I've never envisioned my city as a harbor town. BUT, all of this will mean nothing, until we see high quality pics and/or the box in person. I've been proven wrong many times with Lego products-- I originally rolled my eyes at reviews of the 3178 seaplane but once I caved in and bought and built the thing, it's been one of my favorite little models of last year. So I'm smart enough to withhold any strong opinions until then. Moving forward into the second half of 2011, I hope to see more civilian life, or even non-police & fire sets. There's plenty I've missed out on. I'd love a new garbage truck. I walked past the street sweeper for years looking for Hoth battlepacks. I browse eBay longingly for the cement mixer. They know how to do these sets the right way-- they've proved it in the past two years-- and it's hard to believe they'd drop all plans since it all seems to be selling right off the shelves. I'll wait, and trust that TLG knows what they're doing. PS. Still waiting for my dream set of a lakeside log cabin with the dock on the water, complete with a raccoon going through the trash. One day, Lego, one day... YOU OWE ME
