I have so many interests with the themes, I just combine them all! It doesn't have to be "realistic" or "make sense" to me. I got Star Wars guys visiting the folks in City, etc etc. ^_^

Nice!

Try this thread to get help from seasoned reviewers: http://www.eurobrick...opic=20631<-- Note the rules you'll need to follow to participate! I like this set a lot. The hot rod is nice, if really small, and the hideout similarly makes very efficient use of relatively few pieces. Even the truck is pretty cool and IMO exceeds the design of previous dog units which were more minivan-like. This truck is a true SUV and my only real complaint about it is the flat white color scheme. I would've been nice if they used more blue bricks or something to make it pop a little more, but I guess you could do that yourself if you had the right bits in your inventory.

Nice review! Agreed with meyerc13 that it's unfortunate that the rear hatch/ramp was not really designed for the car to be "driven" in, but on the other hand, I own the Ferrari F1 transporter and the issue is more or less the same there too, with the added kerfuffle of the car having to have the wheels removed in order to fit properly inside. With this set, you can fit the entire car inside without removing anything but the driver, who I guess you could argue would not really want to be stuck in there while in transit anyways. ^_^ I'm hoping to pick this one up later on to compete against my Ferrari team.

Arctic is looking nice indeed. In addition to Ice Breaker, I'd like to get the Ice Crawler and Outpost!

Hm, most of these sets I don't care for, but I do like Infearno Interception. A little disappointed by the Mission HQ. I missed out on the previous Agents mobile HQ and was hoping this would be a better version of it, but something doesn't sit right with me about it for some reason.

Coast Guard set is really cool, but I have to say I'm liking Ice Breaker a lot more!
-
Yah, I will definitely try and get this set!
-
I have 7733, but I kind of like more compact nature of this set. Lego seems to be trying to do more with less, probably due to rising costs of materials and import/export. Thanks for the review!

Oh man, I want dat Icebreaker! Now I'm a little glad I haven't gotten around to getting the Coast Guard set. :p

I thought I was going to swear off these modular sets due to lack of space/cost, but I'm really leaning towards getting this set! My son wants this too, so I might get him his own for his birthday.

Hive Crawler sounds cool. I guess Winter is Orange team and Summer is the Red Team.
-
I just ordered Bug Obliterator--I like these sets, although my favorite parts are definitely the Galaxy Squad and not so much the aliens.

Thanks for the review! I love Lego vehicles and hope to add this to my collection soon. Seems like the Fire Dept got a lot of funding the past two years compared to the police!

Thanks for the review! I too love Lego trucks! I own the trailer, but I do like this compact version. I'm actually overwhelmed by the number of City vehicles TLG has been pumping out lately. I need another job to afford them all, lol.

Belated congrats! Working for TLG sounds like a dream job to me!

I totally want that Quinjet set!!!

REVIEW: 8831 LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 7
gunm replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Excellent review--thank you! I certainly would like a squad of space marines, but not sure I can afford a box to do it, even though that seems the easiest way. -
I really love the Alien Conquest line. The ED HQ is just fantastic and the two smaller Alien sets are so clever and interesting to me. I also love the light blue space suits on the ED guys. I was comparing these mini figs to the Space Police sets, and I think it's a great contrast to that Theme's stark white colors. I'm also pretty sad they are discontinuing this line so quickly! I guess original space/sci-fi themes aren't a great seller??? It's such a shame since I thought the designers were quite creative this year. I'd love it if they gave a second series of AC a go, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens with Lego in-house Sci Fi...

Apologies for the pseudo-necro bump, but I finally got around to opening this set and am really enjoying building it! I just love the blue colors, especially for the minifigs. I'm a little embarrassed to say, I think it's so cool, I ended up getting another one! Hoping to see a second round of sets later this year as well.

My daughter enjoys playing with legos. I believe her interest is based on the fact that her father and older brother enjoy them and she wants to be included. She likes to play pretend with the minifigures and vehicles in particular, since she has an interest in cars and the act of driving. She is not as interested in the actual building process, like my son is, although sometimes she will build something random and abstract on her own.

Darn, it seems we have an embarrassment of Castle-themed riches this year. My wallet/ego cries in agony while my Id pines for clearance sale prices already. >_< Thanks for the early review!

I wasn't really interested in Cad Bane's speeder to begin with, but it does have some nice figs and that "Limited Edition" flag is always tempting for me.

Super cool!

I'm not a Train guy, but yeah, I want this set badly. If all goes well, this will be my first! Thanks for the review!
