At my local Lego store, they have some of the smaller Pirate sets in stock, but only Kraken Attack was discounted. I ended up picking up Brickbeard's Bounty @Borders w/30% off coupon earlier today.

I only buy sets and such on sale or clearance. My one exception thus far has been Green Grocer because I missed this past holiday's sales, and didn't want to chance waiting and missing out for this year's sales. Regardless of sale, I won't spend more than $180 on any one set.

There was a 50% off select sets sale going on at my local Lego store this week so I picked up: Republic Attack Shuttle Indiana Jones Flying Wing Red Tractor Police Car Mine Mech There were a few other sets available for 50% off, but those were the ones that most interested me. I kind of regret not getting the Armored Assault Tank now though.

I decided to bite the bullet and ordered one from S@H on Wednesday--I got an email saying it shipped on Thursday! I'll probably receive it on Monday or Tuesday next week. I'm a little sad I didn't order that and Fire Brigade from the Toys R Us.com B1G1 50% off at the beginning of the week, although I heard the condition of some of the copies were not the best...TRU probably sold off their remaining stock with that sale.

I only recently started really collecting Legos and this is exactly what I've been doing, too--get rid of the smaller boxes, and break down the larger boxes and store them flat! I am starting to accumulate new, unopened boxes due to clearance and sale pick ups, so I'm not too sure what I'm going to about those in the interim before I build them. I'm interested to know where people store/display their legos in general...not just the boxes...
