  1. This looks great! And that spider is exactly the reason why I stay in the city...
  2. This is really nice! Especially the fountain and the kiosk. Only the trees could use a bit more foliage.
  3. A great MOD! Really a shame what Netflix & Co. did to the old Palace Cinema... I like your colourful carpet rolls and the scaffolding. Great job!
  4. Super! I like how the camera actually shakes when the house comes down.
  5. Really nice! I like that it's basically an old and a new part and that the backside is very detailled for a modular. The interior looks great, especially the bathroom looks comfy! As others have said: This should be built!
  6. Thanks everyone for the kind feedback! @Wodanis: The stairs are only connected to the inner wall - thank god Chief Wiggins is slimmer as a minifig than in real life!
  7. I really like your updated cars and trucks - the old sets from the 1980s have tons of potential for recreation and updating. And the snack bar is just great - all the feel of the classic one and at the same time, not a single stud in sight - that's how I like it, too!
  8. Hi everyone I'd like to present my new modular police station, based on the 2014 city set 60047. I got one set for christmas, bought another one with a discount and made a couple of bricklink orders to complete the station (mostly bricks and plates, tiles for the floors, some mifigs and accessories). It was a fun project! Comments & suggestions welcome, thanks for looking! The garage has space for a patrol car, a van and also for the two police dogs, when they are not out catching bad guys. The transparent stair case leads up to the welcome desk. On the first floor, the patrolwoman on duty welcomes citizens and visitors. There's a small meeting room to the left and the desk of the police sergeant on duty. One floor up, the chief is practising for the press conference in the briefing room. There's also an office for the special ops guys, the command center and the chief's office. The holding floor has all the necessities for processing and locking up the bad guys. The cop could smile all he wanted, Fred still didn't trust him. "Holy cow! These police guys must have used up all the tax money for their shiny new headquarters!" Originals on Flickr.
  9. Thanks for this great review! Arctic doesn't really fit into my city, but the huskies going crazy in the SnowCat made me laugh out loud!
  10. Thanks all! I tried to keep the stairs close to the original model (and turned them to the street) - but of course they are now similar to the Parisian Restaurant. I didn't design it with software first - I need to try things out with bricks. I had to get additional medium blue bricks, lots of tiles and some more parts together with the two sets to complete the MOD.
  11. Thanks, everyone! I used the two sets and about 100 additional medium blue bricks (1x1, 1x2 and 1x4), lots of tiles, the parts for the interior and additional red slopes for the roof.
  12. Hi everyone! As I really liked the 7346 Seaside House, I bought two and turned them into a 16-wide modular building with two small studios. The lower has a terrace with direct beach access, the upper a large balcony and the bedroom upstairs. Comments and suggestions welcome, thanks for looking! --- Jamie is nervous - maybe tonight's dinner at the fancy restaurant is a better opportunity? Originals on Flickr.
  13. This is great! I really like the SNOTted floor in the living room and the roomy feeling in the apartment - I'd move in!
  14. Another really great one, congratulations! I especially like the diagonal tiled floor in the shop, the ground floor facade and the large orange cupboard. The all-grey facade is dearing, but works very well with all the interesting texture you incorporated. I am already looking forward to your next building!
  15. Great topic! The GG ist still one of my favourite modulars. I bricklinked it some months ago, but just this week I decided to add another floor to it: 110 different parts/lots, found most of them in my collection and needed 3 Bricklink orders for the remaining lots. Looking forward to building this!
  16. This is really great. One doesn't see many inside corner buildings and you really mastered it. Nice work!
  17. Thanks again, everyone. I didn't do it with LDD, just built it and kept ordering missing parts from Bricklink. So there are unfortunately no instructions and no parts lists. But starting with the built original you should be able to work it out. The additional parts were mostly dark tan bricks, tiles and some tan plates for the bigger floors. @TheLegoDr: Any chance to see pictures of the reverse corner Cafe Corner?
  18. A must have! Looks like really good value for money with the size, piece count and amazing interiors! The suburbs in my modular city will soon get crazier...
  19. This is great! I love especially the details on the facade, the door to the apartments on the ground level and the restaurant interior! It looks really French. Although - wouldn't they serve a different menu than pizza in Paris?
  20. I got 60047 Police Station (my first!) for christmas and just finished putting it together. A few thoughts (usually I build modulars): What I liked: - The blue/white colour scheme and the architectural style in general, especially of the building of the right - Lots of tiling on/around the building reminding of the modular buildings - Tons of playability with the vehicles, helicopter, cell block, etc. - Some nice mini-builds like water cooler, tool holders, wash basins, fire hydrant, etc. - Nice selection of parts, including four of the new 1 x 2 jumper plates in white (http://www.bricklink...tem.asp?P=15573) - Real sturdy build, one can lift up the whole complex one-handed without problems What I didn't really care for: - Lots of stickers which I haven't applied yet - For an Orwellian prison tower like this one, there are way too many escape options available... All in all, a really nice set, which I will MOD to fit into my modular town at the next opportunity!
  21. This is really superb! I especially love the spacious lobby, its floor and walls and the use of transparent plates above the entrance. And it's so big!
  22. Thanks a lot for a great review. Let's hope that christmas comes early to Lego VIPs...!
  23. Thanks, everyone! @Wodanis: I used most of the bricks of the set, had maybe around 200 left over. And added about 600.
  24. Love the logging truck and the car transporter - two sure buys. Should also serve nicely as bases for MODding. Airport, well, my city doesn't have one. OK, it doesn't have a forest either...
  25. Thanks everyone for the nice feedback! I estimate that there are about 600 additional parts in the MOD (mostly from BrickLink) - mainly dark tan bricks, a lot of tiles and other parts for the details (stairs, windows, lamps, chairs, etc.). And I had some leftovers from the set that I didn't use.
