  1. @rm8:: if you ever need help with MLCad, you can always contact me at info@jurgenstechniccorner.com. For example: I can bend the shock-absorbers a bit in MLCad.
  2. Wow !! I really really really like this one. Looks like 14 months of building really pays off  Your video contains what looks like some CAD-images. Does that mean thereá digital file for this model ?
  3. I don't know if you can connect 2 battery-boxes to 1 Sbrick. But I'd suggest connecting the 2 RC-motors to 2 ports of the SBrick. Each port should be able to handle 1 RC-motor just fine, better than the PF-receiver. The SBrick team is working on a profile-designer so you can make your own profiles. And they'r working on the Android-version of the App too I just installed the Android-version of the App that's currently available at Google Play, and I agree it's got lots of bugs.
  4. No sorry, the Link Belt has a number of technical and esthetical improvements compared to the Zorex. Some examples: the drivetrain is now completely hidden inside the chassis, a roller improved driving and slewing, the cabin has openable door and more detail, the left side of the superstructure has 2 openable doors. BTW, I was not aiming at the HOF, but wanted to show what can be done with the SBrick
  5. The SBrick-team asked me to demonstrate the SBrick at Legoworld 2014 in Utrecht, The Netherlands. I equipped my new Link Belt excavator with 2 SBricks and you can see the result in the video. What I like best is the fact that the app allows you controll the speed of the motors. This makes the most precise Lego Technic excavator I know.
  6. As a musician, I really really like this !! Also a very original idea
  7. This is not 3+R but 4 speed, but both driving rings must be engaged.
  8. I decided not to include the roof-pf-lights into the instructions, because it's an incledible amount of work and installing the extra lights is trivial. Just connect them to the extention-wire coming from the battery-box. The hardest thing is to fit all the extra wires inside the back of the cabin. Email me at info@jurgenstechniccorner.com if you want me to send you pictures.
  9. Thanks for the great review, Blakbird. Indeed, raising the rear excavator is the weakest point of the model. When it was designed, there was no sign of an L-motor yet, and an xL would never fit. So the only choice was to use an M-motor with lots of gear reduction. However, when I rebuilt the model for Lego Fan Welt 2012, I replaced the 2 M-motors which go into the gearbox with 2 L-motors, it was pretty easy. The gearing was adapted to the new speed and torque. However, it didn't increase the performance much...
  10. The rare part I wanted to avoid was the 3L thick GREEN liftarm. It was originally used in the hood. So in the Deluxe version these greem liftarms were replaced with 3x0,5 green liftarms. The Basic version has the 3L blue thick liftarms. Since you have the instructions: look at pag 359 of the Deluxe version and pag 360 of the Basic version. Then you'll understand. The chassis and suspension handle the weight pretty well. Of course a brick-built chassis is more stiff. But it's only noticable in the rear-end of the chassis, the part from where the cabin ends untill the rear bumper.
  11. That's because the Deluxe version replaces the green 3L thick liftarms with green 3x0,5 liftarms.
  12. No, there's no functional difference between the Deluxe and Basic version. There should be 7 3L universal joints in both models. It's correct that the Basic version has 2 more Technic Axle Pin 3L with Friction Ridges Lengthwise. That's because the green 3x0.5 liftarms ar much less rare compared to the 3L liftarm thick. The 2x 14L white flex-axle exist only in the Deluxe version. This is a very rare part, it was only used in the 8461 Williams F1. These parts were eliminated in the Basic version.
  13. May I present my newest MOC: the Kenworth W900 US Truck. It has all the technical functions you'd expect from a supercar: * Full live-axle suspension on all axles * Both rear-axles are driven * Remote-controlled steering with working steering wheel inside the cabin * PF-lights (OK, I went a bit overboard with those 8-) ) * Openable hood and cabin doors * Remote controlled driving And the most important function of this model: 4-Speed remote-controlled gearbox The main design goal for this gearbox was to have a reliable and comprehensive gearbox with more than 2 gears. One thing that was very important was that the gearbox had to be able to handle a lot of torque. It had to be able to drive large Lego Technic models. Another aspect was that switching gears had to be very easy. First, the transmission itself is a 2-way transmission, where one has a different gear ration compared to the other. Then I develloped a kind of switching-logic, where 1 M-motor would be able to switch 2 driving rings, each in either direction. For this I used differentials, 24z clutch gears and an inverter-mechanism which uses a sliding worm-wheel. Instructions Full building instructions for the Truck are available here.
  14. It's an honour to be a part of this amazing book and to have one of my MOC's on the cover, thanks !!
  15. Totally epic, nostalgic and awesome creation, well done !! It's instantly recognizable. @ TheLegoExpert: yes it's fully motorized, including gearbox and brakes.
  16. In my experience the Mustang gearbox definately works better than the one in the Defender. And is a magical piece of technique
  17. Propably not, bigger wheels would cause technical issues.
  18. Hi, instruction makers ! Just wanted to let you know that adding steps and submodels to Blakbirds model will be approx the same amount of work compared to building a "stepped" and "submodeled" CAD-file yourself. I've done this before, so I know this from experience. Personally, I'd love you guys to continue making the instructions fot this beautifull model. Please keep on the good work
  19. Welcome to Eurobricks, Madoca. Nice to see you here. I love your MOC's and this wing-body truck is one of my favorites. Both esthetics and functionality are fantastic !! And thanks big time for the instructions.
