Ha... A review that's as entertaining as the set! Nicely done, that man! ;)
-
Might have to pop into Toys R Us on the way back from my parents this evening and see if they're around here too...
-
Yeah. I remember last year seeing loads of them in several places including the lego store in Liverpool as well as the Waterstones round the corner and the John lewis in Liverpool One... Liverpool One actually has then reduced to around £20. A week later or so there wasn't a single on ANYWHERE and they were selling for around £65 or so from Firestar Toys.

There was an Ugnaught dancing in Episode 1 of the Droid Tales... then again we had 4-Lom in an older Yoda Chronicles and nothing has ever surfaced for that (I think it was Yoda Chronicles but I'm not 100%... there's so many shorts done these days). I'm not sure when the first episode aired but the Luke included in that episode was the one from Final Duel and not from the Ewok Village... do we know if that aired before Final Duel's release? Still makes me chuckle just how much they take the mickey out of the PT especially Phantom Menace. Remind me never to help the Royal family of a seemingly wealthy and strategically important planet out by risking your life in a race through a canyon in a home made racer and then destroying a command ship in space, effectively ending the occupation of aforementioned planet and it's people, if they then just leave your mum to be a slave on a hell hole of a planet thus causing you untold pain and worry that eventually helps lead you to the dark side of the force and the end of the republic. Muppets.

I've bought parts before to make minifigs up. There's a seller based in Norway that I buy from regularly and normally pick up parts to resell figures on eBay which then makes the parts I want basically free after the others items are sold. This has helped in picking up parts for things such as original Poison Ivy and original Harley Quinn etc. It can take a bit of time to make a BL order worthwhile to find things to resell to add to an order but for me it's been worth it to get the things I wanted for little to no cost.

Bootleg Super Heroes minifigs - worth it or not?
Robianco replied to KingPixels's topic in Community
I think the question was a little tongue in cheek... There's nothing there that looks remotely interesting and having Harley with a clown wig just looks ridiculous. -
That looks like the Christo custom of Hush. If you want to start adding Christo customs into the mix then I hope your pockets are prepared to go a little deeper! There are some great pad printed customs by several people including members of this forum. I've recently narrowed my collecting to just DC and I'm going something similar to Nemo in taking things slowly in picking up older figures. I have all of the Batman / Robin / Nightwing figures so it's just a case of picking up some of the baddies... Alfred will be a very patient game to pick one up at a reasonable cost.

The double sided Bat-head will be useful for customs as well as the cowl. Shame they're all just clones of existing figures... If they'd made that Superman the New 52 version from LB3 then that would have been a great and unique addition. -
Direct to the point facts belong in either the DC or Marvel threads... There's no point in making another mixed thread. We don't need new threads... We need people to make posts that have some kind of discipline or they'll go awry pretty quickly. I appreciate the time that has gone into getting this thread started but the content is just a slightly cleaned up version of what should have been in the existing threads... Threads that can get derailed by wishlisting or people just going off on tangents and getting their facts horribly mixed up with their fiction... Why anyone think this thread will be immune to that kind of posting I'm not sure.

I'm really not sure we need more threads. I think they'd just serve to clutter the board up in a vain attempt to keep threads on track. What we need is a little more discipline from people posting rather than yet more threads to mix speculation with wishlisting and painful scouring of J2G's posts for evidence.... And I must admit I don't see the wisdom in mixing DC with Marvel... What do Civil War sets have to do with 66 Batcaves or Suicide Squad related fantasy sets? Not doing things like 'Were getting Firefly... Or Killer Moth... I mean Croc!... I think... Maybe... But I hope it has the Jokers new car in it too... I like that car!' would go a long way to not bloating threads and taking things in directions they don't need to go. We now have DC 2015 rumours and discussion, DC 2016 rumours and discussion, DC 2016 wishlist, Marvel 2015 rumours and discussion, Marvel 2016 rumours and discussion, Marvel 2016 wishlist and a mixed Superheroes 2016 rumours and pictures thread currently open. I'm so glad this board is populated by adults or things might get out of hand.

I've ordered the Yellow Reverse Flash and the Black Reverse Flash... Any chance you can post an image of these two figures? Possibly the grey head of the black reverse flash with the helmet? Thanks! -
I thought this as soon as I saw the hood on it's own next to it. I've not read many spoiler related things so I'm not sure if we get to see the character out of the mask but if not then I'd expect a printed mask on a regular head or the hood will be pretty much redundant. Having the helmet and mask printed as well as a hood and printed head is a pretty good mix of options to be fair. All in all I quite like the industrial nature of things. There's much more of a sense of military might in how they appear to be in the promo images so far. I prefer this to the shiniest of shiny ships that we have in the PT... Naboo had so much bling it felt like the space version of Monaco... even parts of their fighters were chromed. Kylo Ren's shuttle reminds me of a very large version of one of the minirigs that were available from Kenner back in the day... the AST-5. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=99417 Just make it grey and have the wings go up instead of being a support stand. Just me?

I'm still not entirely sure why people don't understand the strategy behind splitting main characters of licensed themes across sets? It's always happened... with the Avengers sets you need to get some pretty mediocre builds and the most expensive one to get the whole team. It's never going to change so please don't be surprised if it always happens this way. You need to buy the Ewok Village to get Leia in her Endor dress as well as Luke in the black Jedi outfit...Then they put a variant in a £70 set along with the new Vader. You have to buy a £80 set to get Chewie as well as Han and Leia in Endor camo. The new C-3PO is in a £250 set so having the characters will always be a case of splitting things up. Just look at Rebels with having to pick up the Ghost and the Phantom... then putting Sabine in a new set with Ezra before finally adding a large set just to get her helmet. The sets are expensive but a lot will be on some kind of reduction pretty quickly at a lot of retailers all over the world. The Falcon gives us most of, what we assume to be, the main 'gang' for Episode VII-IX. Two large First Order sets will get you the main 'baddie' along with a named senior official, another officer, a senior trooper and a variety of troopers and ground crew. A better mix than is available for the OT most of the time.

It's Red Hood, the alter ego of the resurrected Jason Todd in Batman. The figure is a clone of a custom by OnlineSailin: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lego-Custom-LEGO-RED-HOOD-BATMAN-3-Dark-Knight-Robin-/252048719643?hash=item3aaf463f1b -

Well Scarlet Witch, Vision and the Ultrons weren't on the poster showing the 47 releases so who knows what their release schedule is like? -

I'm the last person you need to thank, mate. You're the customiser extraordinaire... I just stick different bits of figures together occasionally! Besides... I think I've just cheated on this thread. I may have just bought a genuine SDCC Arsenal figure. That's what happens when you decide to sell up on Marvel! ;) -
Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
Robianco replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I've got both of those sets and I was really happy with 8097 but the step up in size and detail in 75060 is considerable. No, it's not perfect. The side canopies over the 'wing' support joists should cover the joist rather than have it bolted onto it and the curve at the back can be a little jarring but it's a fantastic set in my eyes. Fett is the definitive version you'll get from Lego but I'd recommend picking up the Arealight Boba Jetpack to really complete it as it's far superior to the Lego version. If you're talking about buying the Fett torso then there are better ways to pick that up than others. PM me if that's the one you're after. -
Hopefully after the mass sugar rush that has been this thread for the last 36 hours the excitables will be ready for a nap and some sense of calm will be restored... Seeing as it's kind of been confirmed that the second D2C isn't a DC set then it's probably not the place to speculate about it although seeing as we're not sure what it is we're buggered for somewhere to speculate about it! :) I'm grateful for J2G sharing what he knows... or a little about what he knows... and I'm happy to go with that for know until something more solid gets circulated. I don't think he's going to say anymore and I don't think it'll help to keep asking him. Just be glad that you may know more than most Lego employees do right now and leave it there.

What's the odds on those windows being printed instead of stickers? -
While Snowspeeders aren't the most exciting release I'll take any new pilots they feel like offering up. Didn't one pilot use Garven Dreis's Red Leader helmet? If they put that in it would go some way to appease its release. Maybe add an update for Wedge in there if were getting Wes Janson in another set... Or mane Janson is in the Speeder itself seeing as we got Luke and Dak previously. Hobbie used Dutch Vander's helmet so he's easy to create. It does seem odd to get yet another example be though. Definitely agree that the A-Wing will probably be Rebels based as they look to be the main rebel fighter in season two. If Ashoka makes an appearance I'd be very happy.

If the hints and 'confirmation' is correct then I'm really looking forward to the '66 Batcave. In answer to the member who's been asking whether it'll be better than the previous... maybe... maybe not. It'll be different. As it's a '66 cave then it won't have the holding cells and banks of screens that we've seen in other versions. Hopefully it'll have the sliding poles, and the various bat-computers etc and a rotating section of floor to move the Batmobile round. It was more of a lab than the cave we've become used to now. For me, the success of the set will actually come down to the Batmobile and the figures themselves. If we're getting a Newmar Catwoman then I think they'd beed to give us a Adam West Batman with printed cowl rather than just go with the bright blue Bats from the Juniors cave. Alfred should be included as he's much more part of the cave than any villain. With the Gotham Cycle Chase I may be in the minority but I'd welcome a re-do of the Catwoman chase as long as we get a New 52 Catwoman. I think her design is excellent and the Lego variant cover would be a very nice version of her with the goggles. Obviously a completely new character would be welcome too but if we're going to variations then that one would be good for me.

Bootleg Super Heroes minifigs - worth it or not?
Robianco replied to KingPixels's topic in Community
True... But they've had to create the artwork for each one and maybe expand their moulds to cover all the hair and helmets etc. it's one thing to have reference material but recreating it for each figure for front, back, head etc ready for print is a sizeable task. When I looked at the listing that sold them individually they looked pretty bad. The Ghostbusters set wasn't totally awful looking at Digger's review but the design of some of them looked terrible. Even though reverse Flash's torso looks like it's printed in dark orange (or similar) it at least looks like it's a clean muscle design with the Flash look done quite well. I'll stick with genuine Lego arms, legs and head with the SY helmet so I'm really only hopeful they get that print right. -

That Heatwave at least looks like it will be better than the utter rubbish in the Xinh set. I'm really not that hopeful for these Dargo sets but with the big investment in design on creating so many unique figures I just hope they've not gone half arsed on them. I'll just keep things crossed that SY do Arsenal soon. I'll be updating the artwork on my Flickr now that Phil has posted images of the back. -
That whole cinematic trailer is the finest SW content I've seen since the OT.
