  1. Making HP sets based on a related movie trilogy is very possible... To be honest, I could see them making some FB sets and maybe bringing in one or two HP sets. I'm not one of those who thinks we need a brand new Hogwarts though... I actually think 4842 and 4867 work great together for a very good castle build already.
  2. I'm not sure how Lego balances the amount of different themes it has on shelf at any one time. I'm sure there's an art in letting some themes lapse and launching another. The Newt Scamander films will be part of the HP Universe but will be set long before Harry's parents are born so it's a very different magical world we'll be seeing. I think they'd have to have started discussions with WB about bringing the films to bricks... it's a difficult thing to guage as nobody knows anything about the new films as JK Rowling was writing the screenplay only after WB said they wanted to make the films. The very nature of Newt's adventures would lead us to think any sets may very well be creature and character based as he researches his book. Maybe a good chance for something like a new dragon? We've got an Acromantula with Aragog but Shelob has shown that can be improved. As small a detail as it may seem the fact that Scamander was a Hufflepuff means we may actually get a Hufflepuff uniform which would be a fantastic addition to the existing HP sets although being set in New York it may not venture to Hogwarts at all (I'm sceptical about them not showing Hogwarts at any point in three films but you never know).
  3. The satchel in Rey's set is the same as Indy's satchel etc... sounds like it may just have been an iffy piece of moulding if it's snapped that quickly. I've never had one snap at all either on Rey's set or any previous Indy set etc.
  4. +1 to Sir Brickalot after a very easy and smooth purchase!
  5. I'd be interested to see some of the customs you have. Do you have a Flickr account with any images? Christo has an eBay store: http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Custom-Brick-And-Minifigs?_rdc=1 There's an old thread on here which had a link to a Brickshelf image: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/darthtangent/StarWars/Christo/christoall.jpg These were all long before Lego produced them and even though they may look a little dated now they weren't back then. I think the rarest one he's made is a Yaddle minifigure.
  6. There aren't too many people that I've seen that makes moulds for custom shapes. There was someone on eBay who has sculpted Bith heads before Lego released the Cantina band. I've also seen people use action figure heads on minifigure bodies as an alternative to custom moulds. I think there was a 4-Lom done like that in the recent past. I know Christo is a custom minifig producer who creates new moulds but I don't think any of the Star Wars figures he's made have used custom mould except for maybe the Death Star Gunner helmet (as seen in my profile pic) which was done a few years before Lego released it. You've made reference to the custom troopers in your post and I know that companies such as Arealight have also created custom moulds for things like Twi'lek head tentacles in various colours.
  7. John Lewis has had the Halloween CMF wave for a couple of weeks but behind the counter. I bought one and luckily got the Zombie Cheerleader! The Lego store in Liverpool One has said they're getting them in small amounts and they sell out quickly but they're expecting them to land properly soon. Thanks for the heads up on the Sainsbury's thing... I might have to pop round to a couple and see what they've got.
  8. Of all the threads on this part of the board that didn't need resurrecting this one takes the top spot. Let it die people... let it die.
  9. I checked that too... I doubt they will. And to those that say they don't sell licensed figure parts on B&P... yes they do. Just not from every set.
  10. That's very possible... I just think that the designers are given strict piece counts etc and once they have a build then adding 4 studs to the length might take things too far beyond that count once they factor in the full extent of the build. Who knows... I actually think it works as a set and if people wanted to add to it then I'd be interested in seeing what they came up with.
  11. As much as I d enjoy a good custom variant from our Eastern friends I always thought that design was a little too generic and without the red belt symbol (which only Christo has actually done properly) it just didn't come across as Black Widow... the blue lines do seem to be a mix of the Assemble and AOU figures though.
  12. The Venom on the right is actually a clone of Christo's original Venom minifigure before Lego released it. Very rare and almost a perfect copy of it as long as you get a good print.
  13. Thanks to all for the info. Personally I couldn't care less about hints and if that's how people want to drop info then that's fine... alternatively if people want to be much more straightforward in sharing info then that's fine too. What's irritating beyond belief is pages of people speculating based on picking up of supposed hints and endlessly begging people to come back to the thread and hint a little more. I won't ask people to give us info or drop hints and I'd hope and assume that once people have something to share then they'll do so out of the spirit of the thread rather than any other personally motivation... so I hope people continue to share whatever info they have and the giving and receiving if information is handled with the level of maturity expected of an adult forum.
  14. I must admit that I've ordered several times from Minifigures Wholesale and they've always been fine. I think on this occasion they've underpriced something and they really don't want to honour it which is a shame. Hopefully you get it sorted.
  15. Well the source material for the Jokerland Harley was the cover of Harley Quinn Issue 1. Everything matches up except for the hair... which is half red and half black pigtails.
  16. If that's the head from Firestar Toys then it was probably me that mentioned it... and you're welcome! ;) The overcoat was from a seller on eBay called Easton: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3-CUSTOM-polycotton-trench-coat-capes-your-Lego-minifig-NO-MINIFIGURE-/281474080013?var=&hash=item8729366cdb Their capes and overcoats are great. The one I used was 'tan' although it's closer to dark tan as you can see from the minifig's arms. Torso is an Indiana Jones torso... and as someone else mentioned, Star Lord's head works better than Indy's. I've now made that change.
  17. To be honest from the source material it should just be half red and half black rather than just tips and highlights. Once I get hold of one that's exactly what I'll be doing. Whether the version released next year will have highlights I think also depends on the version of her they put out. Do we thing it'll just be the same torso and legs as Jokerland?
  18. John Lewis had them in store last week also... I know the Lego store in Liverpool One had them in and sold out. I'm taking my daughter for the mini build after school today so I'm aiming for a Zombie Cheerleader for the hairpiece if they have any in.
  19. So the most rapid growth for a company that is already the number one in the world comes from the region that is responsible for the bootleg figures everyone seems to have an issue with. Might be in their best interest to do nothing and let the profits roll in.
  20. There is. The company is called Lego. ;) You can order minifig parts direct from Lego but as individual pieces Legs can still cost 50p from Lego. There are sellers that sell new legs for as low as 30p each in Europe and have over 100 in stock. In the US it's closer to 45p for people who have at least 100 in stock although there are sellers in the US with around 60 in stock for just under 30p each. I'm assuming that you used pence and pounds in your comment that you're from the UK... THere's a seller in Germany that has them at 37p each and shipping is around £4 so it works out at 41p each delivered... Torsos tend to be more expensive though...
  21. If they just do a copy of the Arealight Fett pack that would be fine. I picked one up to complete my 75060 Fett with the EE-3 Carbine.
  22. Lego's legal team are constantly working to close down listings on eBay... at least for UK based listings. Sellers will continually come and go though. I've never seen any bootleg for sale in the UK at any kind of legit retailer... only place I've seen is a guy who has a weekly stall at a various car boot sales in the North West.
  23. Emperor Palpatine is also in a book that costs around £6 or so in discounted online book stores.
  24. Even briefly looking at the article I can see they picked up and reviewed items from a couple of the worst bootleg companies so they will look like cheap chinese rubbish because they are just that. Cheap. Chinese. Rubbish. But we all know, at least some of us do, that there are some manufacturers that can produce superb figures that are still cheap and Chinese but are far from rubbish. S brand's Falcon Commandos, for a start, have fantastic printing across the whole torso, arms and legs. If Lego made these people would be talking about them for a long time for the sheer level of detail and print coverage. If they just want to show clones of actual Lego figures I could photograph the Helicarrier Nick Fury from Lego and the same figure from a Chinese bootlegger. The print on the bootleg aligns much better than the Lego one and the quality of the print and plastic is basically Lego quality basically making the bootleg a better minifigure. It wasn't that long ago there were people on this board, and who probably still do, call all Lego plastic that's manufactured in China toxic and harmful, that they get nauseous when they handle it. Those people will never accept plastic that's made outside of the regular European or American factories. The article is by people who wanted to make all bootlegs look crap to an audience who want to read about all bootlegs being crap. In that sense it's done it's job.
  25. I must admit having given us an almost perfect Boba Fett in a UCS ship it would seem odd to then give us the same figure in a $25 set... and I can't see them just dropping the printed arms or creating a variation on the print for some reason. We also got a frozen Han in the Slave 1. Glad we have an Ugnaught though as it it does bring us even slightly closer to having a set of Cloud City characters to accompany Lobot and the revised Bespin Guard. It's just a shame that Lando and a Cloud Car Pilot seem as far away as they ever have.
