  1. Never has a thread needed the phrase 'keep your knickers on' more than this one.
  2. Sorry if I've missed it but is the price definitely confirmed at $120? I know these things can be subject to change but I just wondered where the 'confirmation' came from.
  3. The internet isn't bending it's knee to a company. The internet still has all the images available to view and places to talk about it. As a forum with a relationship to maintain with Lego, as with all other forums and sites with a relationship with Lego, this small portal on the internet is being asked something quite simple. As has already been pointed out... Nobody has a divine right to leaks or prelims but we're normally one of the first to find out about stuff which is great... just that on this occasion we're being asked to refrain. It's really not that hard a concept. To be honest I don't get where the strength of feeling is coming from on this.
  4. It's actually completely off topic. From what I read there's no confirmation that. He mentioned about having some prosthetics on his hands and being unable to open a door... the person writing an article then jumped to the conclusion.
  5. People have release dates and know when waves are coming out... they know there's going to be lots of things they may or may not want so either budget for wanting stuff or don't. I still don't see why anybody needs full disclosure to create a spreadsheet of exactly what they want, how much it will be and how many cars they need to wash to be able to afford them. We all budget for things in our lives... mortgages, bills, car insurance etc... toys are just another thing... so budget for them. I really don't think there's any distrust between a toy maker and it's audience for not releasing official images of it's product range months in advance... be that Lego, Hasbro or whoever. They'll be out when they're out. People will either want them or not. I suspect they'll sell a lot of them without any feeling of distrust for not seeing them in a catalogue two months earlier. I'm sure you've been posting images left right and centre but the importance, and relevance, of doing that is entirely up to you. There are no medals for most circulation of those images. If they're on Lego forums with any relationship with Lego then they'll probably get removed and if they're not then they won't and it won't matter. There's plenty of people on Flickr who have posted the images and will continue to display them. They're out there... they're just not here.
  6. Thanks for the reply. I'm actually on the side of just doing the simple task of following TLG's wishes on this and not worrying about it... I hope that came across in my post. To be honest I'm not sure why the huge uproar from some regarding being asked to take things down. The discussion of leaks and even getting to see things early is nice... but not integral to my interest in both Lego or Star Wars. The forum is more than just a place to 'see things early' but these threads tend to generate more heat than most places simply down to their subject matter. It's all about relationships... the one EB members have with the site and it's moderators, the one the site has with Lego and the one that Lego has with it's partners. I'm sure Lego are having to bend a little to their partners such as Disney as the leak of images and actual early production figures from factories was one thing but to now have most of the official images leaked early may also be a source of embarrassment, hence the request to help control things a little... with that the site and it's members are asked to bend a little to help smooth things over until Force Friday.
  7. But this isn't just a case of Eurobricks bowing down to TLG's wishes and every other Lego forum continuing to show set images etc... everyone has dropped it. If there's somewhere else for people to go then yes... EB does run the risk of people leaving to head to that forum but there isn't as far as I'm aware. Time will tell but I can't see TLG stopping the discussion of leaks across the board. We already don't allow confidential stamped images but when official stuff comes out of other leak photos are sourced then they're normally fair game but for this there has been some kind of embargo placed and TLG have asked. Reading the wording of their statement they are totally aware of how seemingly futile this may be especially as it's already out but they're asking nonetheless. Next time we have some DC or Marvel stuff that leaks we'll see whether they ask the same... I think that'll be a good example as it's a single theme but half is owned by Disney and the other half isn't. And I'm still not convinced by the need for people to see everything before they'll spend a penny. TFA stuff will fly off the shelves from September 4th until the distant future... that much I'm pretty sure of. Of course they want money... and they know they're going to get it... from ticket sales to DVD sales to toy sales to book sales to poster sales to pyjama sales whichever type of product you can think of sales. Stick that logo on it and it'll sell. Kids aren't sitting on forums now analysing which stuff they're going to want. They'll walk into a toy store, or be happily taken by their parents, and the merchandising juggernaut will begin... regardless of how much AFOLs want full disclosure of sets a month or two in advance... it isn't going to make a blind bit of difference. We've seen the sets. We know how much they are. We know when they're coming out. Let's not get carried away with things. Find a Flickr user that has them listed and talk about them in the comments section of that image if you feel the need. We can't change it. Hey... if it all goes belly up and TLG continue to block leaks of everything then people will have to hope another forum that doesn't give a toss about Lego's wishes or it's relationship with Lego, pops up to cater for them. Looking at the request from Lego they specifically ask for set names, set numbers and set pricing to not be discussed... as well as the display of images. I don't think that covers discussion about specific things we've seen... it's not like we can just ignore any of it happened. At least I think that's what covered... any help on this mods? Is this something that can be discussed?
  8. I know Hothbricks removed the images from their Flickr feed as well as the site. FBTB have removed everything... I think everyone is going to play ball on this... it's too big a deal for people who want to keep the relationship with TLG to ignore their wishes on this. The images and information are in enough places outside of the Lego community that access is easy enough... It's just that inside the community people are just going to have to be patient. It's only 2 weeks until release date and around 4 weeks until 'slightly reduced on Amazon' date so it's all good!
  9. I know there are sellers on Bricklink who have things like 350 of the original Poison Ivy torsos etc. I know Lego has sold individual items and parts from licensed figures over time but how people get that much of something I'm not sure. I think I know the seller you're referring to... Sounds suspect but you can always send it back if you're not happy.
  10. Yeah... Most of the places I used to find very cheap stuff in Liverpool has been lacking any real reductions for a while. SW Microfighter and Lego Movie stuff most of the time.
  11. Yeah... I'm not much of an army builder but for some reason Stormtroopers just seem the most natural things to want to army build. An entire childhood of wanting at least 12 Kenner Stormtroopers for playing with... most I ever had was 3! At the moment I'm actually hoping there's a printed mask on a black head but watching the movie will give clarity on this. If his face never appears in the movie then I'm hoping for the mask... if his face DOES appear then I'll wholeheartedly agree with your post. Only time will tell on this one!
  12. I'm hopefully in the camp of people with just as much sense as money (or just as little money as sense) but I'd still happily hand it over for anything of a decent size related to Bespin!
  13. I could probably set those up as Jpegs for you and you can print them in waterslide decal or sticker paper.
  14. I think I'll be picking up an Ernie Prang and some old Han grey hair for a new Alfred though. I really like the New 52 Alfred and he still fits perfectly for the Batman I wave...
  15. Yeah... I'd get in quick if I were you and if, for some reason, you find some come January then good luck to you. I'll be picking two of these up as the figs are pretty good I'd say and definitely worth the multiple purchase.
  16. I didn't realise it had reached that level! There's a US seller on eBay that has a custom Alfred with just the front of the head printed and it's around £10 for the figure. I think it's a genuine torso and legs... I think I'm going to go for one of those for display purposes for a while!
  17. No problem at all, mate. Send me your address and I'll get one out to you. You'll have to stick your 2x2 plate on it yourself though but it'll do the job!
  18. I think someone has failed to update the artwork on the box from last year. Whoops!
  19. SY283 from the previous page. It's just a wave of DC stuff which has Black Manta and Scuba Robin. I just thought a New 52 Superman would have really set it up but alas...
  20. The original Alfred is getting more and more expensive... Its going to get round SDCC prices eventually if we don't get a new one.
  21. At a guess I'd say if would be related to the ST movies... TFA etc. We'll have had a year or so's worth of marketing and media for TFA and we'll be building up to Rogue One in the December.
  22. The timing is almost odd. It's sad news that she has passed and I hope that she gets immortalised in a Lego figure along with West, Ward, Romero, Newmar, Meredith and Gorshin.. and Napier obviously... we need more Alfreds!
  23. Does it have to be a genuine SDCC figure? I only ask as there's several custom options available including a pad printed figure from one customiser, a head available from a second customiser that you can use on a venom body and a head from a digital printing service provider by a large online Lego reseller. All of these are printed on genuine Lego and would cost a fraction of the original SDCC figure. I totally understand why you'd want an official SDCC figure but I just thought I'd ask. I've also made replicas of the SDCC cards from 2012 and 2013 for use on my customs and had them professionally printed. I'd happily send you one of those if you picked up a custom Black Suit Spidey.
  24. Yeah... this actually looks lazier the longer I look at it. Doc Brown with regular hair in grey, Joker with original Joker vampire hair, really old Batman... just very poor from the bootleggers. I just really wish SY would have done the New 52 Supes to make that set worth getting.
  25. I grabbed both the windscreen and the roof disc from B&P to mod my 9492 in the same way. Glad to see that it works nicely as I've not had a chance to make the changes myself. I also picked up a second TIE Advanced Prototype to hopefully MOD it into Vader's Advanced... I can see the mods done here will be helpful in trying to put that together.
