It would probably be an Iron Man variation for Marvel anyway! ;) Rainbow Batman perhaps? https://i.ytimg.com/vi/ZnhwX3rAKgI/hqdefault.jpg Wouldn't surprise me too much if they did!

For those that would like them without creases Hoth Bricks Flickr account has uploaded large PSD files of the 6 posters so you can get them printed without creasing. I think I'm going to get the OT posters printed and framed.

Shapeshifter by Phoenix Custom Minifigures
Robianco replied to DarkKnight7's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
It really is a fantastically well designed minifigure... and knowing Phoenix Customs it will be equally well printed. Part of me is glad I got out of Marvel figures as it was costing me a fortune but a little part of me also misses adding figures like this to my collection.- 11 replies

I think that's a CW version of Flash too... But in bright red over dark red. -

Maybe... but you've never commented that you only feel the way you did about set sizes on all but Dr Who sets... "Bigger sets are great but the price is really an issue and until they can find a way to reduce it, I don't think they should offer just a large set". No mention of sets from any other theme but Dr Who. I'm a Star Wars and DC fan but I'm happy for them to make massive sets for all themes... because I'm also a Lego fan. I also have a passing interest in Dr Who but not enough for me to be remotely excited about a massive interior of a TARDIS.. that doesn't mean I wouldn't like them to make one and I certainly wouldn't complain about them making it even if I thought it was out of my price range. That would be rather selfish of me. -

To each their own... but I don't think the Simpson's sedan with family would have been such a flagship set as ECTO-1 was. It would have felt incomplete. The couch is more iconic than the car. I must admit... after your comments regarding the piece count and how ridiculous it is... and that Lego shouldn't make sets that large THEN commenting on the Dr Who thread that you would pay more than the price of the firehouse just for an interior of the TARDIS (I think the comment was "I'd spend over £200. Hell, I would actually go bankrupt")... I was starting to think you were trolling this thread. -

I'm not sure whether anyone has spotted it but the new SY 4 pack above with Batman, Iron man etc has a clone of Christo's Arrow figure... That's a figure that sells for $60 (I have Christo's version) so I'm interested to see how good that would be, especially if they add leg printing. Batman also looks like the Tumbler version again or a new version. -

Your reason for them not making ECTO-1 the same size is that they didn't make the Simpson's sedan that big with the house therefore they'll shrink it. My reasoning is that the Simpsons house is the main set and the car is simply a small part of it and isn't nearly as iconic or important as ECTO-1 / ECTO-1A. Having ECTO-1 already created, and having the Firehouse almost twice the piece count of the Simpson's house means they could easily create something that would fit... so no.. it's isn't really comparable. ECTO-1A is different enough to have collectors interested enough to be happy while also giving those that don't give a toss a vehicle to use with the firehouse. In the end it doesn't really matter... we're all guessing... but with it being the third largest Lego set ever produced then I think we can expect them to be able to fit a decent sized car. -

I don't think that's a basis for that comparison. The Simpsons license wasn't acquired to make a family sedan leaving them to have a smaller version in a large follow up set. As has been shown there's plenty of examples of Lego adding a very slightly modified, almost identical, vehicle as a standalone set and as part of a larger set very close together (if not actually overlapping). You'll also have two Jedi star fighters on the shelf at the same time come January. Having an ECTO-1 and ECTO-1A as similar sized vehicles is certainly possible especially when looking at the piece count of the set as a whole. We're not talking about a 2000 piece set that will have 1/4 of the whole count taken up with figures and a car... it's less than 1/10th of the total pieces to create the same sized vehicle. I'm still not convinced it would break the scale of the set that much. The MF Hearse was around the same size as ECTO-1 and admittedly looked quite large next to the HH... but we're talking about twice the piece count of the HH... so there's no need to go too small on the car just to get it to fit in with the scale of the building. It very well end up being a smaller version but I don't see it needing to be overly small to fit a scale. The SwissGB HQ v2 is 5700 parts and is a 3 storey firehouse with full interior detailing on all floors that comfortably fits ECTO-1... it's not too much of a stretch to think Lego could simplify things and make it fit for less parts. -

Even if they did decide to put ECTO-1A in this set I still think they could put the 'Ghostbusters' logo on the firehouse rather then have to go with the 'II' logo. I picked up the NACM pad printed arms for my Ideas set figures but now they've got the dimensions figure with both arms printed etc it would make sense to have them all printed again in this set... and having Venkman slimed is also another nice addition. Having ECTO-1A would give new buyers a car to use with the station as well as being different from the Ideas set so those already with that set could simply use the original ECTO-1 with the station set and display ECTO-1A separately. I don't see them having a tiny car though. The Ideas set was 508 pieces including minifigures and stand. Take 33 off for the stand and we have 475 pieces for the car and figures... that leaves over 4100 pieces for the station itself. Haunted House was 2035 pieces and around 25 of those was for the figures so we've got more than twice the piece count of the Haunted House to work with just for the station build. Those kind of figures say they don't need to scrimp on anything. -

Bootleg Super Heroes minifigs - worth it or not?
Robianco replied to KingPixels's topic in Community
Just PM them to me... I've already started to create artwork of game design figures and drawn up the last two SDCC figures. If it helps to keep things in the group then I'm fine with that... it's just that I won't always be able to draw things up straight away due to family and work commitments. ...and I don't want anyone to take this the wrong way, but... let's make sure the design and artwork is as good as it can be even if it takes a little longer... and let's not do anything that Lego has already done. They don't need help in cloning Lego stuff and I'd rather the companies took a view to having completely new figures or maybe some gaps that Lego has such as things from the HP theme etc. -

There are plenty of sellers of Arealight stuff. In the UK there's Firestartoys.com, In the US you can order direct from Arealightcustoms.com or Brickrepublic.com and in mainland Europe there's Lapetitebrique.com or custom-brick-design.com They all sell printed items. -
Well I spent most of my early time at the SW forum and the photo is the first custom figure I bought which was Christo's Death Star Gunner... long before Lego released theirs. I thought it apt to have a SW profile pic with spending so much time there and Lego SW getting me back into Lego.

Don't be so sure that license holders let customisers 'get away with it'... Even on a small scale. They're happy to step in with a quiet word when it suits. -
That photo was taken by Hothbricks. The torso looks horrific... It's possibly the worst drawn torso I've seen for a long time... line thicknesses are all wrong and it looks hand drawn. If Lego was printing any of these up there would be more care taken in the creation of the artwork. Hothbricks are adamant that this is from a reliable source but I'm calling fake. At least from this photo. There's something just not right about it. The print is completely misaligned on each of the three colours... even as a very early photo this looks crap.

Bootleg Super Heroes minifigs - worth it or not?

Is it just me or is there a huge lull in the figures that are getting released? After everyone putting out their AOU figs... then SY fixing their shoulder issues and going double sided on the heads they pretty much destroyed everyone else in the AOU stakes it's all gone very quiet. The Mechs just seem like a hangover from the AOU stuff and the only new figure is Banner. Dargo are historically pretty iffy and don't seem to be putting out any of the stuff from that poster... the transparent figures are an odd thing that they just seem to be fixated on. Decool have just about finished the waves shown on their last leaflet. I'm thinking that the DC wave with Deathstroke etc are relatively close as well as the SDCC figs. I'm just hoping we get something new and unreleased. -

It's not a set I own but I'd guess that it's something that would take quite a bit of additional engineering to fully support itself while hanging from something. Good luck with it! -
Are things just getting a little confused? There was mention of a Snowspeeder being released next year and there was also conjecture that it could be Rebels related rather than OT. I don't think there's been anything linking it to a UCS set as yet.
-
Very possibly... and probably. If they do go for something I hope it's a build that'll compliment those two sets such as the clock tower etc from 4757 and maybe the greenhouse section. Mind you... we're getting a little ahead of ourselves here. We need to see if we'll get any HP universe sets never mind anything specific.

Custom Marvel and Dc Characters
Robianco replied to SteelRiftGaming's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Technically Daredevil doesn't count either due to the third part vambraces on his wrists but they look pretty good anyway. There's plenty of people who have started threads for customs if they're not completely purist... I think it's great when people keep adding to their thread and showing how techniques might change or figures get updated.
