Winter Soldier is actually quite cheap. I've ended up with several of them for various reasons although I'm using one of them for a Blade custom. I think you can buy the whole figure for around £2.50 on BL which is roughly the same cost as the torso alone. The flesh skin tone does leave things quite limited. It's part of why I actually quite like the Freemaker sets. I wonder if a little clean up work with brasso on Base Malbus' head would work? Take the scar off and you have the right skin tone if you can tidy the goatee up a little. Maybe Sami Khedira from the German Football players too.... nice clean goatee but needs the rest of the stubble removed

That's Winter Soldier's torso from the Marvel line. I think it's a little too dark for Bail Organa. I picked up Christo's custom of him relatively cheaply and the skin tone is spot on for him.

The head from the new Lego Batman Movie minifigure pack with the three Gotham Police has a much less smiley reddish brown head with goatee. That might work well for Saw. The rest of that figure looks great.

Why? What does it say in the FAQ?

The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion
Robianco replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
I'd say that was definitely the case. Just a rendering error for them I'd say. I actually think they look quite good and I personally think Robin works just as well as the others. That said, they don't hold any interest for me so it's money saved for me on this one. -
I very much doubt they'd be knockoffs on BL. BL isn't the kind of place that has inexperienced Lego buyers picking stuff up and one bootleg figure could ruin a shops rep and ultimately their business. Bootleg figures don't have Lego stamps anywhere and the plastic is different so they can be relatively easy to spot... also the moulding on some parts can be 'close but no cigar'. Han's new hairpiece seems to be one of these moulds from what I've seen. The US based seller with 48 protocol droids has a positive rating over 4,000. He won't be selling fakes. I'm more inclined to say factory leak from somewhere like Mexico (you only have to see what's available on the Mexican Mercadito Lego FB page when waves get released to know that lots of figures are going missing). Sellers in Europe, especially Germany, seem to have a good contact somewhere too.

I've thought for a while that there must be somewhere that sellers on BL are picking up bulk figures. There's a seller with 24 of those Han figures and they certainly didn't buy 24 75159s. There's a seller I buy from regularly in Denmark and they still manage up update stock of certain figure parts with new parts on figures that have retired. Not sure how they do it... whether they trade for them or whatever... Bellatrix Lestrange for example. Han is common except for his hairpiece... There is over 90 sellers with Luke Stormtrooper but again, the parts aren't particularly exclusive. The black Protocol Droid is the exception though... Factory leak?

The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion

I agree. I can't imagine anyone writing a review in a tongue in cheek manor to wind people up. You're starting an army... That's fine. Just don't start talking to them and referring to them as your children. Then we'll worry, Cat. -
Rowling has said that isn't going to happen. She teeeted it yesterday in response to the rumours.

I've actually just sold one to Captain Britain. $11.59 is the cheapest I can see the set for now. If you're in the UK I would recommend the Leyile Brick custom of it which is pad printed on genuine Lego available from Minifigures.co.uk: http://www.minifigures.co.uk/minifigures-store/buy-custom-minifigures/batman-leyilebrick-custom-minifigure/ If not I'd actually still say the $11.59 price is worth it for that figure alone. The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion

I can see both Kiss Kiss and Battle Pod circulating far more openly. Almost every single poly bag I can remember has had some kind of general circulation here in the UK from both licensed and SW themes. People were clamouring for Electro and that became very common. Same with Rocket Raccoon. This theme is just an absolute free-for-all when it comes to figures so whether they'll be Lego or Toys-R-Us I think they'll be common soon enough. -
The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion

I'm just waiting on Disco and Clown, Tiger and Kiss Kiss suit now. Disco and Clown are available from Lego here in the UK from early Feb. Then the wait is on for availability of Kiss Kiss and Tiger. I think patience is the better option with these as they seem to be getting well circulated in time rather than silly money on eBay. -
That's scratched shield actually could be quite good. Shame you have to buy that same mech just to get it.
-
But is it just to design more sets? Maybe there's a contractual obligation to expand the theme through collaborations such as this. I think Lego are aware that there's far more risk in making a Star Scavenger and trying to sell that at any price point over releasing another TIE Fighter etc. This is an evergreen theme and there's many, many more years and waves to release things we need in... Freemakers isn't the reason they haven't been released yet.

Just in case anybody was in doubt of what it was called they've had 'Milano' painted on the wing of the ship. Did Lego's Batman help them decorate it? ;)

I still think it's a pretty poor argument. Lego made a set and they don't sell it anymore... It's the same with every single toy maker in the world. There are things that get made and then further down the line the value of them goes up due to the fact that someone wants them but they're not available anymore. All of the bricks are available from BrickLink and the instructions are available free online. The fact that some of the bricks are not widely available isn't something Lego need to concern themselves with... there was enough of them for that set and probably quite a few more available that were distributed through various means but now the aftermarket has dictated the price. If you want to buy the fake then that's up to you but don't say that it's Lego's fault. It isn't. They have a price point and you can either meet it or not. It doesn't need to go any deeper than that. The argument that there's a cheaper alternative so Lego need to lower their price to meet it is ridiculous... every manufacturer in the world will face these issues... You can buy anything cheaper... anything at all... it doesn't mean every maker needs to hit the lowest price point to compete or somehow be 'fair' to consumers. Lego has products at every price range but wanting the largest and most expensive at small set prices is just down to the selfishness of the consumer. No manufacturer owes the consumer anything other than the product doing what it is advertised to do. Lego don't owe anyone cheaper prices and nobody owes Lego the promise to buy their products.

The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion

I must admit getting to know the accessories for each figure was important in tracking them down. I saw sure a figure I'd felt was Lobster Bats but then when looking at the images I realised it was Zodiac so picked it up. I agree with the others that Harley's hair is the thing that has stood out for me each time I've felt one. Red Hood's shoulder piece can feel similar to Calculator but then I check for the dome... I picked up two of those to get an official red Bats cape for my Batman Beyond figure (I might use the spare Red Hood head for a Grifter custom). As I was feeling for the final figure I needed (March Harriet) I actually realised that I'd almost placed a complete set in a pile of those that I'd gone through. Handy for any kids popping in. -
Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here

Isn't the figure in the white tunic in the Phantom II Admiral Thrawn rather than Grand Admiral anyway? BrickLink is a very trusted site but as with anywhere it's down to the individual seller. Why not do a search for the AT-TE and then look for sellers located in the UK and you can then view the by price and look at their feedback rating. I've actually picked up a Lego collection from someone entering a dark age and in it I've gone through the figures and there's the figures from that very AT-TE in it so I'm assuming in the mountains of bricks I've received there's an AT-TE in there somewhere. Minus the instructions of course. -
I see they're quite expensive on BL. I can't remember if they've been applied to the set that I have as it was bought second hand and I've not had it built for a few years. I can try and scan them or find them online and make some some decals for you to print out if that would help?

After reading your post again i had a feeling you did but I thought I'd leave it up there. I got out of Marvel a year or so ago and sold everything so these are going too.

I've been picking up the slightly smiling face you mentioned in various BL orders and I think I've got around 8 of those updated troopers now but the annoyed face above does work better. Now to find a BL store with 8 of those heads and 8 of the legs cheap! (Probably be in Germany!)

I'm actually about to get rid of a collection of around 25 to 30 Iron Man armours from various companies (SY, DLP, Decool etc). And I'm in the UK.

I'll give Wooster the benefit of the doubt and explain that the term 'posted' here is more to do with the fact that this can't be an old build or a previously submitted build that just happens to fit the contest criteria rather that something 'posted' or 'hosted' elsewhere. It's something that should have been created for this contest specifically. if, of course, Wooster is indeed being stubborn or awkward on purpose please ignore the above.

I'd also say don't do it. I've found myself in a similar situation to yourself and I'm glad I didn't sell. I actually do quite a bit of buying a selling of Lego to help fund my own collection so I'm used to moving things on when I want to. I also consider my minifig collection just as important as anything brick related if not more. I moved house around a year ago and shifted my Lego collection into storage then back out into our new house... I've still got most of my collection in their original boxes as I don't have room to build and display everything but I also like to have instructions and boxes around so I can dismantle and store. My minifigs are all in storage boxes ready for setting up on display and are in my office with me... along with a few sets at a time... I've thought about selling up just like you due to lack of time in being able to build but I'm glad I still have all of it... It's still mine... as long as I can afford it. If you don't think you'll use it, build it or even look at it much over the next few years then maybe it will be the right time to sell... but get a good price for it. Selling it for under it's value is just a big no for me, you may as well keep it and then find use or pass it on to family. I think things get to a point where they become very clear... I've had hi-fi and audio equipment that I've bought and sold in the past and then picked up new stuff that I'm happy with... You'll know when you're ready to sell. If you're hesitant then don't do it.
