I love that hand painted one on eBay... they obviously couldn't be bother removing the head from the figure when painting it so there's green paint on the teeth. ;) I must admit when I saw the bootleg Rainbow Batman when viewing on my phone my heart sank... but now I've seen it larger and had a proper look at it I'm very glad I bought the pad printed version as there's enough 'Pogoness' in the bootleg for me to want better. Now if it was DLP making it I'd have been a little more wary. The arms would still need to be airbrushed right up to the shoulder but I could see them doing a very good job of things and having more accurate and sharper print. Fair play to Pogo for giving it a good go though. It's certainly a good sign that these companies are prepared to give something that complicated and 'out there' a go.

Well the brown and blue coat thing is something that's been discussed widely in SW circles for a while. Hot Toys even released their scale figure with both colours... I'm actually disappointed they didn't put a blue variant in the Assault on Hoth set. The range finder is simply down to them not making that part in white.

This is 20% off in the U.K. right now... -
I must admit that damage doesn't look like it's been done from normal play. That stuff looks like it's been melted or smashed in some way... repeatedly.

If there's an instance of a colour being wrong it's invariably down to the concept art that the design team are given. We can go back to the first Black Widow figure and how it had blue stripes etc. The figure was identical to the concept art. Kylo's Shuttle was white in the titanium black series so there was obviously some difference between the concept art shared to the toy companies and the final release.

That might have been mine but it wasn't made by Lego! ;)

The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion
Robianco replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
If he's asking people to not thing too much about it then I'll take the 'No Place Like Home' thing as Wayne Manor as it seems they spend a lot of time there in the trailer etc. I actually don't really care what it is and I'm not going to worry about things too much as guesswork very quickly escalates and then whatever it is won't be what some people guessed or wanted. If it's a large set then people will always have the cost thing to worry about first before even thinking about which exclusive minifigure they'll miss out on because they refuse to pay it. -

I think the robe thing would be close to the trenchcoat in one sense but it's the closing mechanism that's the issue with it. Custom trenchcoats are notoriously hard to close so having something that's meant to be wrapped tightly around the figure probably wouldn't work on a practical level hence it being printed. -

That's exactly how I see it and probably the reason to drop him in there... along with him (probably) being the main lady guy and with one cheap set and one CMF kids can get both a suited and incarcerated version of him. -
I must admit I include any non-clone bootlegs in my Flickr feed, as well as the odd SDCC clone, but I've never had anyone comment in a negative way. I think I have enough official stuff and 'traditional' customs that I'm allowed to have a bootleg if I want one. I've photographed bootlegs of customs and clearly stated that until someone pad prints me a custom on official pieces then I'll keep the bootleg. I wouldn't worry about it. If they persist in commenting just block them.

Bespin Escape and gown would certainly round things off for me. All other versions, like you say, are pretty much definitive now and I've swapped out all the heads for the new one. -

I'm not sure how that issue was resolved. I know there was some kind of chat about the whole 'slave' costume being retired from merchandising as it was considered offensive. The 2013 version is pretty much perfect though so besides from adding the new Leia face I don't see much they could change. -
The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion

I'm not going to give a breakdown of what I think of the figures but I think they're about as good as a CMF line based on a Lego Batman Movie I haven't seen yet could be. We were never going to get loads of main characters in it. The Lego Movie CMF line has a variant of Wyldestyle along with regular versions of Emmett, Bad Cop and Lord Business. Then 12 randoms from throughout the film... No Bennie, No Virtruvius, No Batman. I never look at CMF waves as just a vehicle for parts for customs or figbarfs.. they have to work as their own figure first and foremost. Vacation Batman is actually a great way to get dual moulded short arms with black sleeves (a little eraser or brasso work on the Batman logo on the sleeve and you're fine). All of Batman's major rogues are included in both regular form and prison form with room for a couple of variants in between. The only ones we're not getting straight away are already rumoured for the summer wave. So we'll be missing Mad Hatter, Ventriloquist and a couple of others... so what? We don't know if they're in the film so how can they be in the sets? You're always going to have people who don't know these characters.. especially with a younger audience... they're not the people Bats goes up against in the New 52 or Rebirth. We had someone who didn't know who the mutant leader was and he's in one of the seminal Batman works... it's fine if you don't know them but I don't think they should be dismissed simply because they're not the mainstream bad guys we always get. When the film comes out and we have the summer wave to look at everything that was released and what the content of the film was we'll be able to see if there were any glaring omissions... with regards to characters I'd have been happy if they'd just gone for obscure villains (there's been a story where d-list villains go after Batman because they're sick of not being considered the cream of the villain crop and they work together to be taken more seriously). There's wave after wave of DC Super Heroes to follow as the theme has been categorised as evergreen. -
We'll have the same complaint from some here as over in licensed though... Where is Leia Bespin Escape? Why no Bespin Luke? I can't believe the didn't give us Cloud City Lando!

I think if you watch the film when it comes out you'll have a very clear idea of why he's wearing it. -

The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion
Robianco replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
I think it's a fantastic CMF line up. Five completely silly but totally necessary Batman figures. Completely obscure Bat rogues that would probably never see the light of day in any other release. Alternate versions of main characters that appear in other sets. The only figure that seems strange is the Joker as it looks very near to the Arkham version but with maybe a new head. Maybe they just liked the idea of giving people a way to get prison uniforms relatively easily for other characters. I don't think we can blame the designers here for there not being a Mad Hatter or Ventriloquist. Lego and/or DC just don't feel like those characters are needed at this stage same as they don't feel the need to include Batman Beyond. There's always the summer wave sets for those characters... or the winter or summer waves after that. I think we should just enjoy the obscurity for what it is. -

Any version of the Joker in the CMF won't be based on the Arkham game version. The Joker, if he does appear, will be a variation of the LBM version. I think people really need to accept that things can change at any point during a release process, especially from the point that retailers and other trade partners start seeing concepts via catalogues or product displays. This is when we start getting some of the rumours... the fact that they don't always happen that way doesn't mean people have made things up or tried to troll the thread. I try to take all rumours with a pinch of salt until we get a pretty firm picture of what's coming... this CMF line has been very well guarded with regards to leaks but there's a consistency with a lot of the content at least and we've had some pretty solid comments from our usual source(s) all but confirming the leaked image from way back. I think it's only the two figures that seem to be repeats that are causing the most doubt with the validity of this... and the fact that there's only 5 Batsuits when some had originally said they would take up at least half of the wave. -

I'm coming round more and more to the frame idea. I've seen a couple of them with shelf constructs but the way above looks much cleaner. The one things the shelves has is flexibility to space things out etc. I think once the full amount of Batsuits becomes clear I'll be able to plan it a bit better. -

I think Cat would have burst if she'd had to hold that in any longer... -
Yeah... Lots of third party parts mixed with genuine Lego. The goggles don't work and I'm not sure how they plan on keeping them there. The binos and AK are third party along with the elastic leg holster. Let's see what the final figure brings us.

That's how I'd describe it too. To be fair... the neck scarf is something that might be useful for my custom of it.

That seems like a very stock response. I'm sure the person at Customer Service probably isn't fully aware of what information is out there at the moment and thus has given this response. I'd just keep your eyes peeled. Invariably people who work at Lego stores or in CS will know less than you or I thanks for these forums and they're not going to share anything they're not supposed to. -
I agree. That's such a simple way of turning that figure into one of the best customs of POTA I've ever seen!

I think you certainly have a point though. The last thing I intended when posting the images was to be the cause of a kerfuffle but I think the posting of singular images does start to veer away from the original point of the post (maybe?). It would be nice if people did post their 'collections' whether that be broken down into DC or Marvel or Batman themed or whatever. I know I've certainly got caught up in just posting images when figures arrive rather than structuring them in some way. I've got Brent Waller's Jack Nicholson Mime Joker on the way and I certainly don't think this thread needs a photo of just that... but maybe when I get my TLBM Jokers I can photograph all the Jokers together as a collection and post that update. There's also a couple of Green Arrow variants heading over so maybe posting a collection of Arrow/Green Arrow related figures might be the way to go rather than just a photo of those. It very well may be worth opening a custom figure showcase thread in the Customisation Forum that can allow people to post these things to. It might also be a good way of showing what custom figures are available without it becoming a sale thread. Nowt wrong with being a purist either, Oky! ;) (I'm certainly sure my wife wishes I had no interest in custom minifigures)
