LEGO Star Wars 2018 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!
Robianco replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
There's no way 2 figures and a speeder will be $50. They look like re-release figures too. That's probably in line with the land speeder from the recent waves which was £20. -
That all depends on whether you want to pad print (like genuine Lego figures) or get something printed digitally.

I'm still not convinced that's legit. I'm not familiar with everyone's MOC of the Falcon to make comparisons with them. The bley rigging still being in place is something that throws me off it. I'd have thought they'd have changed that.
-
Nobody has mentioned it as it's almost certainly not happening.

Can you post the link to the shop with the Supergirl and Alan Scott, Pep? There's also a golden age Superman doing the rounds. It's a copy of a Christo figure. Paris Custom Bricks printed a Wildcat so when the bootleggers get onto his designs you should be good! I kept a few military figures but I've mainly stuck with some Citizen Brick German WWI stuff and my squad of 4 80's SAS figures. I may get round to a helicopter MOC at some point so they can hit an embassy or two.

If they stay on their path of poor quality then they may just end up being solely for the market they originally were created for... low end Eastern market stalls. It's only the quality that SY and DLP reached (as well as Decool at times) that brought them to the attention of the custom minifugre-buying public in the West. Even though I've sold all my custom figures I still keep an eye out at what's happening with these and I'm with Ed... I've seen nothing that's been worth picking up even at £1 a figure. Digger's reviews are just further proof of how bad these things have gotten en masse.

I was a general observation. The cockpit piece is an obvious choice and was noted from an early stage. Everything else is complete guesswork, even trying to spot the scale of some sections from a CGId video of parts moving through space. In less than two weeks it'll be revealed and we won't have to guess anything... it'll just be the love it/hate it/best set ever/missed opportunity/buying 3 of them/can't afford one discussion.

Either of those head with Venkman hair would be a good start... Look through Bricklink for a robed torso and switch the arms out and get some dark brown legs. That should do well enough as a purist.
-
I actually think this head works well for Evazan: https://goo.gl/images/zZHqY4

People are so desperate for a scoop at the moment. The people who made that poster probably don't care either way. September 1st can't come soon enough to put this one to bed.
-
The people in the cockpit of the Falcon sit in the circular part mostly rather than the cone part... as long as that's got room for seating it'll be fine... it's just that on the system scale sets that part is mostly just used to connect it to the body of the Falcon. Obviously the extra width of the new part helps with that space as long as the tube and corridor are done right it should be bang on.

Let's not go there again...

Looks like they've copied the SH Customs Green Arrow and Black Canary there. Brothers Figure's Superb Lass is done above. Not sure if Alan Scott is Paris Custom Bricks or PPM?

Is it legal to sell moc instructions?
Robianco replied to legoisawesome's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Well I don't think you'd have to pay Lego... whether Mercedes would consider any kind of action is up to them. Even if you sold them and they had an issue you'd just be asked to stop selling them. I can't see that happening to be honest... I think you'd be good to go. -
It'll probably be revealed around 1st September officially... Not sure when the official shelf date for the TLJ set is but its going to get released so they can't/won't just hide it. If there are figures from TLJ included it would actually be a part of that wave. The USC Falcon is it's own beast... they can't worry about people not buying the smaller sets just because that big one is around... I'm sure they've done their research on release schedules.
-
I think they're from the CMF Spy from a few months back.
-
Is there an Ahch-To set confirmed or is this just people thinking that's where a Luke is likely to be released? There's nothing in the first post. Let's not start talking about things that are plucked out of the air as if they're coming. This thread is a difficult enough thing to follow as it is.

Torch is based on the UG Minifigures custom:

I thought I'd done well with a 9468 Vampire Castle for £10. It was boxed with instructions but no minifigures. I actually has the figures from a large lot I'd bought. Everything was complete and if there was even a couple of Harry Potter micro figures in the box too.

I don't see this Falcon flopping at any point. Even at £700. Even if it was beyond 99% of kids there'd a ton of AFOLs who are ready to pick it up and that doesn't include resellers or scalpers who'll be looking to buy (as well as shift their 10179s as quickly as possible). I'm also a member of a Sideshow/Hot Toys forum and that's an expensive hobby... but it's very clear that even at £200-£250 per figure people are pre-ordering multiples at any one time. Thousands are being sold and in the same way as there are people that can drop that money on their 1/6 scale figures there's people who can do it on large scale Lego sets. After reading through the last few pages it really feels like the release or leak of this thing is finally upon us. It made me think about recent UCS sets and how they have been received. I must day that I don't think the 75159 Death Star was a bad release. The original set was around for a very long time at a much lower price but I can see why they discontinued it, updated things and then re-released at a price point that was more in line with current pricing. I also don't actually think Assault on Both was a poor set either... it probably wasn't a UCS set and seemed overpriced based on the content being a group of smaller sets pushed together to make one large one but I'm prepared to think that was a rush job based on things being moved around in the schedule and for anyone that didn't have those Hot sets then it would probably have appeared as an attractive set. Slave 1 is a solid release despite of some minor comments people have had regarding rigidity and the Snowspeeder is just a lovely looking set. I wouldn't say any of these sets have tried to be hooked by exclusive minifigures either... arm printing aside it's all been pretty standard stuff (but nicely done). Whatever large scale Falcon gets released there's reason enough to think it will be very well done. Whether there's an interior or not. 10179 looks great as a whole but there's things that can definitely be improved upon and I doubt we'd see the brick and bar built cockpit in the new version. The reveal is probably less than 4 weeks away and we'll know then what we're getting for our money. And let's not start getting frustrated that it hasn't leaked yet. It's like the TFA sets all over again... If you get to the see what's getting released the same time as the average kid who pops past a Lego store then it doesn't make you any less of a fan. Being In The Know is fine but info comes out when it does so just be happy with that and let's try and be adult about this.

Any chance of an image, Pep? I've owned the original BrothersFigure version of that Nightwing so I'm interested to compare. Same with the Christo Golden Age Flash. Cheers.
-
A set like that is basically saying 'Buy Two and sell the extra figures to help fund it'. Exactly the way the Carbon Freezing Chamber did.
-
You post that enough times in the right place and we'll end up with an entire wave of duck variants. ;)
-
@Klaus-Dieter@DEAD1974 Out of interest... What is it you don't like about UCS sets? Is it simply down to the price? Taking price out of it there have been some excellent UCS sets such as the Ewok Village, Death Star, Slave 1, Red Five X-Wing, Snowspeeder and the Sandcrawler.

I'm sure there's a Prince of Persia torso that would be a decent way of creating her.
