  1. It's certainly a possibility. Of all of it I'm just not sure on the 3 per customer... Nobody needs three of these on day or release... It's one thing to pick one up for a friend... but three? That's just asking for scalping.
  2. At 7.15 this morning! ;) My car died last night so any plans to head to a store got put on hold as I had to drop my wife off at work then daughter at school... so I just went with the online option. I've not had email confirmation yet but that always takes a while. My order actually states that they won't take payment until it's ready to ship. If they have an issue taking payment they'll contact you (or they should).
  3. I'm not sure how they handle the stock distribution. I would imagine once it got to a certain point they'd have to slow the VIP purchase down as you can't have a launch date on 1st October if you then have nothing to sell to the general public (I know VIP cards can be acquired at time of purchase anyway but you know what I mean). Same here. I still hope that they make enough and people are patient so that those who picked up three are stuck with them for a while.
  4. It's now showing as Sold Out to me on S@H
  5. Normally yes. It means the stock for your order is in the warehouse and is being sorted for shipping.
  6. Well I've got screen grabs of my order confirmation as I did it in my phone. Good job I checked at 7.15 rather than wait for 7.30. No ID services available so you can't pick up the VIP order. I have to go past the Lego store this morning anyway so I may pop past to see if there are any queues.
  7. Ordered. That was easy.
  8. No probs, Carl. And welcome to the forum by the way. I only know FOMO due to my 8 yr old and that's the first time I've ever used it in public! I think those that are worried are certainly premature and I just hope there's not too many willing to pay scalper prices on the early batches of releases... I'll certainly be trying to get one but I won't be worrying if it takes a month or so to pick one up.
  9. Well spotted. I think I'll check around midnight same as you but if not I'll be up at 7.00 just to have a try then... if that fails it's daughter at breakfast club at school and then a trip to the Lego store to see if theres a queue. If not I'll hang around for one then.
  10. I just think the timing of your post was off. There's plenty of people on the thread who are panicking almost at being able to pick this up. I personally think it'll be around for a while so anybody who wants one will be able to get it whether it's day one or day 101. What it doesn't need is people saying they're thinking of buying up stock to sell at a raised price before a single one is sold. I don't care if you pick ten or twenty of them up during their time on the shelf but there's been plenty of tales of scalpers clearing carts before they've even hit shelves in places just so they can price gouge to anyone who wants one. This forum isn't about helping people do that. Once everyone who wants one gets the chance to buy one when the investors can fill their boots. Those who were sitting on 10179 Falcon's have seen their profit margin take a kicking in the last few weeks and I won't lose sleep over it. At £650 a pop these won't be having the same profit margin... in the same way that modulars don't normally hit the heights of the very first ones now that everyone is onto it. You'll have to hold onto these for quite a while to see worthwhile profit on them unless you're looking to buy up stock and take advantage of the FOMO crowd while availability is low. That kind of thing has nothing to do with an interest in Lego and everything to do with an interest in making a profit while there is a supply and demand issue. Seriously... How would you feel if you went to order or buy one and every time it was out of stock but you could pick one up for £1300 on eBay or elsewhere. You'd start to get pretty annoyed quite quickly.
  11. Yeah... With the greatest of respect, I hope Lego make thousands upon thousands of them and they sell on the secondary market for less than their original retail value leaving scalpers and 'investors' like yourself out of pocket.
  12. Maybe... But the scalpers will be laying out £650 per set and it'll be available for a long time. They're going to have to be laying out a huge amount of money with no profit returned for several years at least.
  13. There's the issue. For months we've discussed just whether it was coming and then whether it had an interior, if it was bigger or smaller, what figures were in it etc... now we have all that info and the build itself looks incredible... people are now hyping up some kind of free gift or certificate or something else tat will be received for buying it early. They've said they're making black MF VIP cards that you'll receive when buying it... that's it. There will be at least one person who won't be happy with buying the largest Lego set ever made simply because they didn't get the imaginary reward they thought they would for doing so.
  14. It sounds like each store may have it's own schedule for opening on 14th... whether that's a regular 9.30am in the UK or having something a little earlier. The London Leicester Square store is holding a signing event which means it's going for a midnight opening on 13th (into the 14th but you know what I mean). There'll be thousands of these available and even if the initial demand leaves stores empty as soon as they come in it will only be a month or two before things level out. I'm sure if Lego were able to have 200 of these in stock at each store on launch day they would.
  15. I've never seen an instance of that being bootlegged for faked... or heard of one for that matter. The bootleg chrome C-3PO figures I've seen are actually closer to the newer Lego design and don't copy the polybag version. Bootleggers aren't looking to produce that kind of counterfeit promo item. They're just interested in selling cheap replicas of figures.
  16. No... it'll be around for a while and after the initial clamour for them you'll be able to wander into a Lego store and pick one up at will.
  17. I think it's the warmth of my office chair at midnight to see about getting one online from midnight followed by a trip to my Lego store around 7.30 the following morning if I'm not successful.
  18. I think there'll be quite a few people expressing interest but when faced with getting up early and handing over almost £700 for a set they may take a minute to think about it...

  20. And they managed to keep it under wraps for 9 months. Good on them!
  21. The Liverpool store will have stock in the 14th and will receive the same amount of stock for the following week.
  22. Don't forget you can walk in and buy one anyway as long as you fill out a VIP form at the time...
  23. I know the Liverpool Store isn't doing a midnight opening and they're opening at their regular time on 14th.
  24. Well unless you plan on building it in the U.K. Whoever you get it sent to had to ship it to you. To not have import duty they'll have to send it with a low value declaration and if it goes missing you'll only be covered for that declared price. Either way it will be expensive to ship so you'll need to factor that in.
  25. I'm not sure... A little kid at the next till was given one to open and he didn't win either... there's 5 in total to win which I'm pretty sure is countrywide so chances of winning are slim. I'm also assuming that you get the chance to win with Star Wars purchases. I couldn't even tell you if it was tied in with the Force Friday stuff or if it's just something they've got going alongside it... You won't miss the Falcon... It's on your right as you walk in and it's displayed almost on it's side in flight position so you get the full size of it. The Scarif Trooper was available with £25 purchases... I've noticed that it's $50 on the US site for in-store purchases.
