  1. Well the UK has one on Jan 5th so you never know...
  2. Lego have their release dates set. They'll have a huge stash of cash anyway from their sales whether TRU or wherever sell anything early. It's not like their sales strategy isn't working.
  3. I'm still not sure why people are surprised Lego would put a new range on sale AFTER Christmas. Get products off shelves as presents then give people a whole new range straight after. Simples.
  4. Do 'Staff Discounts' count as an advertisable UK Sale? ;)
  5. I think we live in hope of that happening as either a way of getting a new big build Falcon, a way of bringing down the cost of 10179s or as a way of getting a great start in recreating a 10179. ;)
  6. How did you not buy it even for resale value? I bet each of the figures in there would be around £10 each on eBay and the ship itself would be worth more than £20!
  7. Jesus! Where do you start with something like that?! I mean it's one thing to copy figures... it's then something to copy sets... I'm not sure where this would fit into the scheme of wrong.
  8. I think if it's a set mould with just muscle definition and changeable head I would say that would be for Lego's benefit in using the same mould with different coloured plastics and then just creating a new head mould etc to work with them. That way the Hulk mould could just be used with grey plastic for Rhino and a different head mould produced. If you felt the need to use a different head on your green Hulk torso then that's up to you. It's actually something one of the Chinese bootleggers has done with giving Hulk and Thing removable heads as well as giving Hulk hair that can be removed. Whether that's actually Lego's plan I'm not sure.
  9. Well Lego only really work off the concept art that they're given so if the Vision concept art looked like that image then that's the design they've gone for. We know full well that they don't base them off the comics even if that's the most common and widely accepted version of that figure. Hell... even the Black Widow we got last time was actually accurate to the concept art (except maybe for the face) even if it was nowhere near the actual Black Widow in the film... same with Hawkeye. With the list Scarillian posted earlier it actually doesn't look like there's too many duplicated figures... Captain America and Hulk for sure... maybe one of the Iron Man figures is a duplicate... besides that it's Ultron Drone, Iron Legion and Hydra agent although they're basically goons so we expect those. I think I read somewhere that each of the Ultron figures is a different 'upgrade' isn't it? That's not too bad for a list of figures that long. Looks like the Fury, Hill and civilian clothed Avengers are being saved for the Hellicarrier! ;)
  10. They've both been pretty quick with Batman from the Tumbler and ZEA. I can see the whole DC wave being done early in the New Year and I'd give it a month or so after the Marvel wave launches and they'll have those done too. The quality of the Hobbit wave recently done by SY looks very good... at least in line with their Super Heroes although their SW figures still lack a little in quality (although I'm only judging by pictures as I've never bought any) If they get their QC right then I think there'll be lots of figures from those lines to go with the Super Heroes.
  11. First glance at those and all of the sets look good! Didn't expect 2 Hulks in the wave but that Avengers Tower actually looks a decent size. The Quinjet looks pretty meaty too! People can stop panicking over SW and Quicksilver also! That's a pretty healthy minifig lineup and that Hulkbuster looks like a really nice build. Dammit next year is going to be expensive!
  12. I'd have to check that... I'll let you know later on. Diger has also reviewed the SY Hobbit figures with the Wargs and Thestrals. I have to say those Wargs looks pretty good and a relatively cheap way of adding a couple more to the pack. The print on the figures looks really good too although I'm not sure about the army building potential in the figures.
  13. Digger has reviewed the bootleg Series 1 mini figures and they actually look better than I first thought... except for a few small issues. I still won't be picking them up but they're not that bad. Looks like Bozhi are still using the same figure moulds and that means that they're not completely compatible with Lego though.
  14. I think the story of bootleg Lego figures, how people feel about them and the wider issue of China simply not recognising copyright laws have been played through many times on this thread. Check the video below for an amusing and startling view of the scale of it I'll say it again though... I'm not interested in clones of official Lego figures but any good quality figures these people put out that aren't done by Lego then I'm in!
  15. I think this is a nice and relatively fun thing to MOC but... and please don't take this the wrong way... it's not the kind of thing that I think has a place on Ideas. As a forum for people to create fun and interesting Lego builds from the most creative corners of a builder's mind I'm not really feeling the idea of a set of 5 different coloured bricks making a Lego representation of a basic cartoon painting in slight relief. Like I said... a fun thing to MOC that may appeal to Simpsons's fans... and good luck in the support process... but not something I see reaching the review stage. Did that all come across as really negative? I hope not as that's not the intention... but just my honest feedback... My views on some of the submissions people make to Ideas have been vented thoroughly through these pages.
  16. Looking at those pics the zombie is probably the best figure. Some of the artwork looks a little iffy and the printing looks heavy in places.
  17. Thanks Luxor! Those Davy Jones heads look perfect!
  18. http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Custom-Brick-And-Minifigs?_rdc=1 Just over an hour left on this week's auctions!
  19. That set has just cemented it's place in my January 5th Lego splurge! The Inquisitor figure looks fantastic... as do the others (I can't really get excited about another Tie Pilot though). The TIE Prototype looks fantastic though!
  20. Can anyone recommend a good head to use for a Hobgoblin custom? I like the Onlinesailin custom but I've mad a pretty decent figure from Aquaman's torso and appropriate arm and leg colours so paying $30 or so for the figure doesn't appeal. I'm actually thinking the recent Emperor from the Sith book might be the best option. Any help welcome!
  21. It was a total freak stroke of luck. I'd gone in a month or so earlier and they had them listed for £15 but were sold out. I popped in one day and there it was on the shelf... I took it to customer service and they'd said it was reduced to £7. Had a crease on the front of the box but apparently it had been found on a shelf so they stuck it back out! Since they rearranged the store and gave Lego it's own section they've only had the odd 10% off since then!
  22. From memory Bozhi's figures aren't completely compatible with Lego... at least they weren't. The torso mould was so thick that you couldn't fit regular Lego hips into the them. That's what happened with my Deadpool from the Chopper set.
  23. Striker Class Starfighter... Set 9497. I was on my phone and running off memory hence the shortening of the name! ;)
  24. I see Christo has released a new Shazam figure (he's actually selling both the SDCC and the new game version)... It DC continue with the JL roster in the summer wave then it'd be nice for this one to make an appearance. The design of the custom looks fantastic and the possibility of us getting one in around 6 months or so is the only thing stopping me picking it up.... that and the $40 price tag.
  25. Bozhi have consistently copied sets rather than release figures... the only benefit of that being the Wolverine figure in yellow rather than bright light orange... but I'd have to say this is really taking things a little far. I can't see these selling too much outside of the Asian market where people can pick them up in store rather than online via AE etc. Also... is that $1.30HK? Which would be 11p each? or is that all $130HK for a 16 figure box (£11)?
