The cubes don't have clamshell blister packaging like we've seen with Bain and Trickster. They're enclosed in a full cube with moulded sections on each side for the figures. If they were for that we'd have seen them loose or in the cube moulding like we've seen with Lightning Lad.

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here

Be careful! People will start to quote this as a source and within a few days it will magically be confirmed by a trusted Lego source (or some bloke at a retail store!) ;) -
I popped into the Liverpool store today to pick up some stuff to take advantage of the double points. They'd sold out of the Slave 1 in store which is what I was expecting so I'm glad I picked it up last Thursday. Points went straight on so I hope you get your account adjusted. It's not your fault they misjudged the popularity!

I liked Eddie Izzard when I first listened to his cassettes around 18 years ago... I went to see him live a couple of years ago and barely raised a smile. I think Milton Jones is hilarious... his deadpan delivery is fantastic when coupled with his dry one-liners. I think Tim Vine is really funny too... he's famous for his one liners and he rattles off so many than some are misses but there are so many hits. These three are mostly clean language... they don't really on vulgarity anyway. Jim Jefferies rant on gun control is fantastic... and hilarious.... but the language may not be for some. I'm not that bothered personally but some might be. Dara O'Briain is very clever with his stand up routine and I've always found him funny. Frankie Boyle will easily offend some.... his material can be ridiculously offensive... but I actually think it's also very funny.

I agree wholeheartedly. This is precisely the kind of set I'm expecting. -
Bootleg Super Heroes minifigs - worth it or not?
Robianco replied to KingPixels's topic in Community
I've never liked the brick quality of the bootleg makers so I'll pass on those sets. I'm sure even if it's a bit more expensive to pick things up from BL it'll be much more worthwhile to have those as genuine Lego. I've just made a mass order of the Superheroes sets and various military sets. Something about those I really like.. besides the fact I tend to replace the minifigures with genuine Lego and sell them on. Looking forward to receiving the SY sets. Interested in how good the SDCC figures are for GA and Phoenix. I'm hoping I can keep the Decool heads as they're double sided and use them on these. Galactus looks good.. as does Antman... at least until the official one comes out later in the year. Beast looks good. Plastic Man has the long legs which is a nice difference to the regular Lego version. They've copied NACM's Daredevil.. I've got the Muddy River version from the game so I'm interested to see how good the print is on this. I'm assuming they've copied the design exactly. Wolvie, Magneto and Loki I already have along with Nova, Cyborg and regular Hawkeye. Red Robin looks like a copy of Christo's version with the helmet which I have the original of so I'll get to compare those. Yellow Lantern Deadpool looks fun... although I'm not sure of the reason for the crossover? I'm really looking forward to the comic Hawkeye. I hope this one get the best of SY's abilities along with Phoenix. Also ordered the Expendables set... even if they're not great as the actual characters themselves I'm hoping the leg and torso design and print work for customs. Some interesting Iron Man variations there too. Always nice to add to the Hall or Armour. -
Licensed Sets LEGO Missed the Ball On/Never Made
Robianco replied to adotnamedstud's topic in LEGO Licensed
Even though it's listed on the History part of the forum I'd say that the Fellbeast with Witch King, Aowyn and Merry. Without adding in any other things this set at least should have been made. The UCS Tumbler was a good set. We've already had a mini figure scale Tumbler and I don't think they were going to remake it for a flagship set. The Batmobile has never really been that important in the comics. It gets Bats from A to B... It's just the films that it's the star, so as much as I'd probably have liked a set with the Tumbler, the 66 Batmobile and the Burton-mobile that would have been more of a film and TV tribute than a 75th Bats tribute. Iron Man 3 wave was notoriously iffy across the board. Except for parts of Malibu Mansion. I actually think 4842 and 4867 make a pretty good Hogwarts as they are. Except for maybe a greenhouse and boathouse it's as much as we'd probably have got from a UCS set anyway. Those 2 sets together are probably larger than the Diagon Alley set which boasts a 10XXX set number. If we're listing things that probably SHOULD be done again with Lego's design upgrade around the time of the last two HP waves then I could also include a couple of Star Wars sets that are in serious need of doing as they're also technically licensed sets even if they have their own part of the forum. -
Sticker books are normally very thin books and never come with exclusive figures as they are paperback books. The minifigures normally come with a visual dictionary of some kind and are in hardback books with an extra thick cover to hold the minifigure depth. It's either that or a DC game or DVD. I agree with those that have said the shape of the blister packaging is very accurate to the shape of the figure including that specific hairpiece so it's not really a generic clamshell casing. Bain has a similar clamshell case to it's shape for a Hobbit release similar to the two previous Bilbo variations.

Marvel Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussion
Robianco replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
I'd already said I thought there'd be between 4 and 7 figures. I just think those that are hoping for 16-20 figures might just be a little disappointed. I'm sure I could name quite a few characters that could have been made to bulk up the ships I mentioned on the SW theme but it just goes to show that Lego don't just throw a huge chunk of figures at every large scale set. -
Maybe putting this in Culture & Multimedia would be the right place?

The 'G' was in place for the Detective's Office Modular video which was released towards the end of November: 8 seconds in you get the words and you can see the image in the 'G'. -

I've actually got both a Decool and SY Batman Tumbler fig spare if you're interested. Just message me. Nobody has copied the Tumbler Joker yet although I also have a Decool Joker which it's based on (a copy of Christo's figure). -

I agree about the command deck but I don't see there being the space to have a cell that can hold a bigfig Hulk that would have a working function like this as well as a catwalk around it THEN a lab for the science twins to work in. -

The inside of the 'G' on the intro to the Designer videos is almost certainly the Hellicarrier and it shows a micro Quinjet mounted on a transparent stand to the front of the flight deck. -
Of all the bootleg figure makers the 2 companies that have better quality are Decool and SY... Neither of these have made a classic Bane figure. Decool figures have sharp shoulders and their hip joints are a different mould to Lego's so you spot that a mile away. SY have very accurate leg moulds now (their early legs had cut-off toes), their torsos are very accurate now but the inner threads to hold the leg joints are straight instead of angled... Most of their shoulders are much thicker than regular Lego though so that's another thing to look for. Most print on bootlegs are slightly matt in both colour and texture so it's another thing to watch for. A company called Dargo has just made a replica of this Bane but believe me when I say you'd spot it a mile away as a fake. If you want to buy one I'd head to BrickLink as that's somewhere that's pretty safe for figure purchases.

I'll be bricklinking Manta and Robin. £12 for those 2 rather than £50 for that set for me!

Marvel Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussion

If it's a Lego set I think we can easily compare it... In the same way some are comparing it to the Death Star which is the size of a small moon. Some of the ships I've mentioned are one man vessels... But when it comes to being a Lego set it doesn't matter. I don't think it'll be hollow with loads of rooms as it'll need a LOT of structural work for it to be strong enough. As its a flying ship it'll be raised by supports so it'll be to able to hold together while raised in a couple of spots. I can see the bridge area being accessible and, as mentioned in a previous post, maybe the rear deck can be lifted up but I don't think we'll get a maze of rooms throughout the length of the ship. Precisely. We're not going to get flight controllers standing on the deck to manage the flow of Quinjets smaller than them. The SSD had the Star Destroyer as a small scale model in the same way. -

I think anyone who is expecting 14-18 figures such as the Death Star or Ewok Village is going to be mightily disappointed by the Hellicarrier. Everything we've read so far leads me to believe it'll be around 4-7 figures with the set. Even the Ideas submission only had a realistic 4 figures. The SSD cost more than the Hellicarrier's $350 when it was released 4 years ago and had 3 exclusive figures with 2 others released in other sets. 10179 MF was $499 when it was released 8 years ago and had 5 figures. 10212 Imperial Shuttle was $259 6 years ago and had 5 figures. 10030 Star Destroyer was $269 14 years ago and had no figures. 75060 Slave 1 and 10240 Red Five X-Wing are both $199 and have a total of 5 figures between them none of which were exclusives. 10198 Tantive IV had 5 figures with just one exclusive figure. So of the large flying ships that have been released from the other evergreen licensed theme we've had 25 figures between 7 of them... and about 5 or 6 of those have been exclusives. I might be totally wrong but if not then I just hope we don't get a swathe of people moaning that Lego has 'missed another opportunity' with the release. It will be what it will be. A large Marvel UCS set of a highly requested vessel... and very likely a fantastic build. It just may not be the Avengers figure-fest that some are hoping for. -

I know what you're saying but I have a particular soft spot for Black Widow and Captain America designs. Both of those look like they may be unique designs so I'll probably pick them up. I've got a sneaking suspicion that the Black Widow design is a copy of Christo's Avengers Movie version. -
I found a store with 3 sealed 9471 Uruk Hai Army sets at £27.99. Bit of shelf wear on the boxes but the aftermarket value is much higher even if the price is relatively still high.

As promised: http://stores.ebay.co.uk/finderskeepersbrickshop?_trksid=p2047675.l2563 This store was recommended by a well known pad print customiser who uses their capes. I won't bother sending the UK based seller as I see you're in the US now I'm on my computer... if you still need it I can send it over. Cheers

Marvel Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussion
Robianco replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
I'm pretty sure it'll have some kind of interior although it pretty much depends on how they've interpreted the shape and the kind of structural work that's gone into it. Anything that long will need some pretty hefty technic structural work going on. The SSD is supported on 2 stands so it's raised... which I kind of expect the Hellicarrier to be. To me, that rules out the CA2 fight area at the bottom of the ship as it's not that accessible... especially if that's where the main support area is. The Hellicarrier doesn't have landing feet like the MF and the Shuttle so I think that shows a need for support bases. The top of the Hellicarrier is essentially a flat surface with the bridge and control area to one side. I'd kind of expect this area at least to be accessible by removing the top part... possible the top landing platform to the rear of the hellicarrier to be removable to give some lab space in there. If the image in the 'G' of the designer videos is indeed the Hellicarrier then that shows a small Quinjet mounted on a transparent stand to the front of the model. This isn't too far away from the small Star Destroyer that comes with the SSD for scale. This allows the model to be used as a display model while the top of the city part of the SSD was removable to give a bridge area for the 5 mini figures to 'play' in. This kind of feature would probably be the mix of 'play' and 'display' that we'll get. If it is this space then that would probably only really allow for small amount of figures to come with the set... anywhere from 5 to 7 maybe? 3 or 4 for each playable area? Just my guess... but from what I've read from the various people giving us info, and the image on the designer video, then that's what I'm expecting. -

You mean like this? $399 for a large grey triangle with 5 minifigures. Two of which weren't exclusive. http://brickset.com/sets/10221-1/Super-Star-Destroyer If the Hellicarrier is $350 then it's $50 cheaper than the SSD... and on sale 4 years later. So I hope there's not too much inflation to take into account on that. -
There are very good sellers I know in both the UK and the U.S. on eBay. I'll link them when I'm on my computer rather than my phone.
