  1. You have a very understanding wife! I think if I had that space she'd convert it into another bedroom or living room! It's great to see a space that can display such a large amount of sets. Fantastic room! Just re-reading my post and I have to add that 'she' relates to MY wife! :)
  2. That's the one figure I'd love them to do... We've had pretty much every incarnation of Bats ever done except that one and it's a pop culture icon. The fact that Lego printed onto the cowl for Electro Bats gives me hope they'll print on one to go with that although the detailing is smaller. Fingers crossed!
  3. The event in Liverpool wasn't particularly busy... but then again I don't remember it being very busy last year. The one set I thought about buying before going in was Arkham and fortunately it was one of the few with 15% off so with it being over £100 there was also an extra 10% off so it actually then came in LESS that £100... they still gave me the second winter set though. I got the first one with the Tumbler in October. We did also get a card to be handed in to the store in January to get a 2015 calendar... I'll see if my daughter wants that. No bonus VIP points here though. Detective Agency and Slave One both looked great in store... Slave One just cemented it's place further into the day one purchase category!
  4. First of all this is a great MOC. I'm not overly keen for licensed entries into Ideas but that's not to say I won't support them when it's a set that I'll happily pick up... and this is one of those sets. Whether it's the 2 seat or the single seat version of the car it doesn't really matter as the overall look is fantastic. Really nicely done! Supported!
  5. I totally agree. I had to defend my position when I once said that a Tumbler was a lazy entry into Cuusoo. I sill think it is and always will be... However well designed it is and to whatever scale its a lazy 'Idea' to submit to Lego Ideas. How can a vehicle that's been released by Lego in several scales and different colours be considered a unique enough 'idea'? The purpose may be to give Lego a nudge that there is demand for such things but don't be surprised if any such submissions never makes it past review stage. To have a Helicarrier have rooms to house a bigfig Hulk and to have any kind of length and width to it so it didn't look ridiculously out of shape it would have to be huge... And that image of the tiny quinjet at the end of the runway doesn't lean towards that kind of playset. I also think the Tumbler is a fantastic kit even if it's not minifig scale... SW has had several sets including the X Wing Red Five that are of different scale to system sets. It may just be the start of the SH line getting these kind of sets that are more display than play... The Hellicarrier way well be Marvel's first... And if so I'm leaning to it being 2-4 minifigs as token sweeteners that can stand on the bridge (closer to the SSD) rather than it being a fig-fest like some are hoping.
  6. I'll be interested to see those in person. I'll post a comparison on the Catwoman with the original Christo version as well as a three way comparison with the SY and official Lego Batman Begins figures. The SY ZEA still looks better but hopefully I get at least one good double sided head for it. The Bat logo does look slightly more accurate on this one as it's not symmetrical but the print looks a little heavy on it. I'll have to see if they get the back print right with the batradia on the belt. The other side of Storm's head is a slight smile so should be fine for your MOC.
  7. Saw it at the Liverpool store today... Bigger than I thought and had a chat with the staff member who built it and he spoke about how heavy and strong it is. It look superb... Definite day one purchase for me. I can get over the side foils not having their supports go 'into' the side canopies.
  8. John Lewis won't price match Amazon. They only price match 'bricks and clicks' stores... So they need a physical store to be able to price match them. They often match of their own accord but you won't be able to ask them to at your request.
  9. Yeah... the fact that Decool is sharing SY pages tells me it's jut the same person/people. It would be nice if it was kept remotely up-to-date though!
  10. I was about to say exactly the same as the above post and realised I also hadn't seen the competition other than the other one posted here on EB. I love everything about this build but one of the things that I really like is actually the cockpit... that head shape and the screen piece work so well together and the 2 pilots look they they're properly spaced rather than just squeezed in. An excellent build!
  11. I've seen the Decool page but not the SY one... I don't think they're maintained or set up by the companies though... at least the Decool one doesn't strike me as anything but a fan page. Going back to a comment someone made a page or so ago... I'm happy to put together a list of the spares I've got here before I list them on eBay if anyone is interested in a trade. I'm not sure if trading should be in the relevant section but as it's not genuine Lego I'm not sure where it should be.
  12. Both my AE orders have been sent out to me now including 2 sets of the Decool range so hopefully I'll have at least one leaflet to be able to see what's coming next. Also looking forward to the Lele Military set with the machine guns mounts, sandbags and the crates.
  13. I've not had a listing pulled yet but maybe the new found zeal with which some are reporting will see my next one taken down. I don't list in the Lego section though and I just say that they're compatible so I'm not sure why it should contravene anything but who knows. I really don't think you should have had a listing for SWAT figures taken down. I agree that a slight shift in Lego's strategy could see them release many more SH sets and with it more figures... who know... maybe now that it's recognised as an evergreen theme that'll come eventually. £7.99 for a small set with one figure and a vehicle or scene could work like SW... but maybe SW has enough vehicles etc that can carry such a concept whereby the SH theme doesn't. The new DC wave is a really big push towards a diverse range of figures though that it may just spark the beginning of a flood of new characters rather than just a glorified Batman theme.... Marvel's Universe is also growing with the films etc to in a year or two I'm sure quite a few of these bootlegs will be replaced by genuine Lego.
  14. I've got quite a few of those! ;)
  15. ^I agree with everything Pitdroid said. It's not just the fact that people speculatively pick up sets to sell... it's just the tone of some of those comments... 'If you've invested heavily in...' That tells you just how much stock some people have... even in CMF lines. I sometimes sell mini figures on eBay... genuine Lego as well as some spare bootleg figures. I'm not a reseller and I have only once or twice picked up more than one set of a bootleg range and that's only when the prices were really low... but I never actually sell them at the same time just to avoid confusion. If I'm listing some bootlegs they're not in the Lego section and are clearly listed as Lego compatible. I too choose genuine Lego over bootleg every time (except for SDCC stuff but even then I've got pad printed customs of some!).. but my minifig collection also has more Christo customs than bootlegs. I also tend to keep the money from sales in Paypal to pay for customs or BL orders. The general tone for that thread though is quite zealous... its a threat to profit so we'll remove them one post at a time... but we'll get them all eventually then our investments will be protected. We're not even talking like for like... The hoarding of sets such as Funhouse Escape against some bootleg minifigs that feature in the set. It feels very cold to me... Lego as pure profit. These are the people that would buy up a whole store's worth of Rocket Raccoon polybags to then scalp people on eBay rather than them being promo items to be shared out evenly as they're supposed to be. The SWAT and Modern Warfare figures may be having more of an effect on the likes of Brickarms and Si-Dan etc... for a £6 set you get the kind of armour and weapons that would have cost around £25 to buy previously... never mind the figures that are included. I buy Citizen Brick german WWII stuff (along with Brickforge Rigged stuff too)... I'm kind of hoping we get some alternatives to those from SY at some point... not necessarily the same prints or copies of them but at least venturing into new areas and building upon other themes.
  16. When you read that thread those people are worse than bootleggers. They hoard sets just for resale when discontinued and they see bootleggers affecting their profit margin. I'd ask who is actually offering the public a better service? Thankfully even if eBay stops selling Ali won't give a toss!
  17. The only issue I've ever had on AE was with a seller who went close to the 30 days processing time and I tried to cancel at the end. In the end it was just down to language barrier and they sent the item just after that. I think it's down to them not having the item in stock when they advertise it... hence people now listing them as pre-sale to avoid such issues. Everything I've ordered on AE has arrived no problem at all... I find some of the buyers etc on eBay can be such miserable sods.
  18. I think most sellers will offer the same deal.. They want a good rep and want to sell as many as possible. The price they get them wholesale in China must be tiny so the margins are good for them. Even when I used to be able to pick up some sets for around £3.50 or so they'd be making a profit. Now it's up round the $9 or £6 mark they must be laughing!
  19. ^ I got back from a short holiday this year to find an email from Phoenix Customs about the pre-sale of his pad printed version of the Collector which is perfect. A quick £20 Paypal payment later and it was ordered so no need to track down a £150 official version. There are so many game designs that the bootleggers could easily just concentrate on those for 3 or 4 waves and everyone would be happy. The hilariously bad sets tend to be from new manufacturers that try and get a foothold... that Antman set is TERRIBLE... but at least they had Antman, Quicksilver and Daredevil so trying to do something a little new. I think the Groot minifig actually looks quite good... I think Thanos is a step too far for their 'designers' at this point... especially as to whether to make it a minifig or bigfig. I just wish someone would produced the 2011 SDCC Batman and the 2013 Spiderwoman!
  20. You're welcome! ;) To be honest I've been the same... although my custom minifigs in general have gone through the roof in the last 6 months... probably spurred on by these bootlegs. I've even replaced some of the bootleg figures with customs by Christo etc which the bootlegs were meant to be cheap alternatives for. If I can see a noticeable difference in a bootleg and another custom then I'll look to replace it (eventually). It's interesting to see that some of the people on some social media who were so anti-bootlegs have now admitted to picking things up they liked. There's even a customiser who has been completely ripped off by the bootleggers who has then picked up things such as Venom and Hulkbuster. The new waves in January etc will see a ton of bootlegs to duplicate them although I'm not really interested in duplicates... I just hope they get them out of the way and then look to put out some completely unique figures... similar to the Avengers wave that SY did when they put out a set of comic designs. Now with SY going into Star Wars and LOTR more I'm sure they'll increase those lines too... they're all getting into modern warfare etc and even the Lele accessories are actually pretty close to the well regarded custom accessory makers in terms of quality. I'm just hoping we get things in the figure such as a SY set of the order of the Phoenix with Shacklebolt, Sirius and Tonks. That would be great.
  21. That's the one set I'm missing from the last 2 HP waves. Wish I could find something close to that price in the UK!
  22. I saw those but the CGI images looks pretty iffy... so my daughter will just have to wait on them... same with the Tinkerbell 'Friends dolls': http://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/2014-New-Girls-6pcs-lot-Fairies-Princess-figures-Tinker-Bell-and-friends-figures-building-block-toys/1302524_2054670452.html I've made a couple of new orders recently so now it's the waiting game on delivery. The SY LOTR set has also appeared: http://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/SY251-8pcs-Hobbit-Gollum-Legolas-minifigures-block-toys-The-Lord-Of-The-Rings-building-blocks-Legolas/1302524_32230484937.html The Antman etc set is up and with larger images: http://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/12pcs-lot-The-Avengers-ant-man-Magneto-the-Quicksilver-figures-The-Avengers-building-block-toys-Compatible/1302524_2048847085.html They look pretty bad except, oddly enough, for the Antman helmet piece which looks half decent!
  23. ...the shoulders look rounded on this too. I'm thinking they're CGI images based on genuine Lego rather than the actual Decool product. Fingers crossed I'm wrong but I just get the feeling that's not exactly what we'll get. I've ordered 2 sets anyway. As I'm a Batman fan I'm covering my back on the print for the ZEA Bats... so I got 2 just in case.
  24. Sonic Highways by the Foo Fighters and always a mixture of the Led Zeppelin catalogue.
  25. ^Agreed. As soon as the CMF line had the Forest Maiden that hair was destined for Ewok Village Leia. That goblin hat is just so specifically designed to match the classic GG that it can't be anything else.
