  1. I don't think the temple on Lothal would be a good set at all. I'm not sure we'll ever get a Jedi Temple but if we did I think it's more likely to be the one on Coruscant or maybe even something EU or Sequel Trilogy based rather that the rotating rock that we saw in Rebels.
  2. I grabbed one of eBay bit i'm still hoping that they'll start to filter down into UK TRUs sooner rather than later.
  3. May have to pick up that micro fighter to create another pot with the new Snowspeeder helmet! Shame there's no more of those Bane Bat Chase sets around!
  4. I prefer the Zod hair and pink hands than the way he was. I actually tried my Christo Sinestro hair on him and I don't really like that on him either!
  5. The best you can hope for is to get one pad made and then have the jig altered that holds the item. It's not cheap to get pad printing done though. I've actually looked at second hand pad printers but they're still several hundred pounds before you start buying plates and inks.
  6. Thanks for the quote. I hadn't read that before... glad I wasn't just imagining it and that they've got all these things in their plan for Rebels.
  7. Yeah... I'm wondering where they're going to balance that. It's nice to build things up but they have to let us in on a few things every now and then. There's little hints there that Kanan's path as a Jedi went awry but did he just lose faith or did he do something as a direct loss of that faith that put people's lives in danger? I thought that about the crystals but a little googling shows that they were apparently mentioned as Kaiburr crystals and that's what Luke's sabre had in it. Yeah... that's the one... I just think it has a real resemblance to the Rebel Alliance Starbird... and as Sabine leaves it behind as a reminder to the Empire of the team's strikes then it's looking very much like a forerunner to the full alliance symbol.
  8. If it comes down to eBay being completely out of it then I'm sure there's enough of us to be able to make an extra order for other members and shipping them to them. I've made orders on BL where people have sent over Paypal payment for their part of the order and I've sent things on.
  9. I'll definitely check out the Eternal storyline... it's kind of been the one I've been thinking of reading now I'm up to date with Batman, Nightwing etc. I read somewhere that Black Mirror was a definite plus before reading it and I have that so that's fine... I've also read that it's a bit hit and miss due to the amount of writers throughout but I'll just make my own mind up on it. I loved Geoff John's run on Green Lantern so I'll take a look at Aquaman although he's probably the character I know the least about. Thanks for the recommendations on the JL stuff... I'll move onto those in due course!
  10. Just watched the first episode after the mid season break and it certainly acted as a starter for the next phase in Ezra's training. More of a link to the OT as well. I must admit after a month or so of a break from the last episode I can't really remember if this character has made an 'appearance' before. I'm still liking it though... I just hope the pace picks up after this episode and we get to see more of the team against the empire and the formation of the Alliance. One thing I did notice from the Rebel's sets. Ezra's speeder has an emblem that looks like a loose version of the Rebel insignia... more of a phoenix logo. It seems to me a definite nod to the Republic rising again like a 'phoenix from the flames' kind of thing while being a real step towards the Starboard insignia we all know and love.
  11. Not that there needs to be... But is there a precedent for replacing a ship such as the Millennium Falcon with another version at exactly the same price point with the only real difference being a change of radar shape Would they just recall any remaining stock of the OT version? I see it's been retired based on the sale status and out of stock on S@H.
  12. As Palpatine is seen conversion with Royal Dignitaries in this area earlier in the film there's a chance that they could be included. As much as we have a battle pack I think we'll probably get a Royal Guard or two. I think maybe a Stormtrooper and Imperial Official could also be included to create some kind of briefing scene rather that i just being set for the battle. It's certainly a decent sized set if the pricing is correct so it may just be that the build is pretty comprehensive but from what I can remember the battle over Bespin happened over a much larger area. I might be wrong though. It would seem odd to now give us the book exclusive Palpatine in a set so I'm assuming it will be something different as that's never happened before has it? New mask for Vader to allow the Sebastian Shaw unveiling and a slightly modified Luke from the Endor forest.. or maybe just the same version... I mean the Biker Scout from Endor ended up in the Advent calendar didn't he? Also we're getting a Tydirium so we can always use that for the dying Vader 'Let me look at you with my own eyes' scene.
  13. I was actually thinking about something like this for using he express postal services. I ordered some Disney dresses before Christmas and they came in around 5 days which is MUCh quicker than usual free post. If there was a few people in the UK etc then for just a couple of pounds each we could chip in to get combined shopping by express courier (DHL etc). Just a thought.
  14. Not yet. Ebay is becoming sparse for those sets I think. I've not got a reliable seller I follow... At least not for prices which are less than Ali. There used to be loads that started off auctions at 1p but they all seem to be Buy It Now!
  15. I think the modding has been done much lighter since the separation of the rumours threads into DC and Marvel. There's been a combined 330 or so pages of the 2015 Rumours and Discussions. Almost 200 of them with DC. Let's compare that with 140 pages of comment from the SW 2015 thread... something with more sets than DC/M Super Heroes combined. I agree that there's been quite a lot of content on the thread that previously wouldn't have been able to run without intervention from the mods... I think they're just trying to let people get on with it but if even the smallest flame war kicks up then I think their presence will be felt. We all want to hear about the sets... we all want to know what's coming... and discuss what we've had but I also think that the area of 'discussion' has become grey. Previously, total speculation about what an individual thinks might be in a set based on a possible set name wasn't really allowed... there was no rumour with a source to back it up... it became a kind of wish list of what people 'hoped' would be in a set. A trusted source, or a linkable source of any kind, has always been the basis of content to be discussed. I do also think that the age question comes into it. A forum that has a minimum age limit is created this way for a reason and I genuinely think that there are members of the forum who are way under that limit and sometimes this can show during the 'excitable' moments building up to a wave release.
  16. Well my wife hates Lego. Hates it. I think that's down to how much Lego I've bought since I came out of my dark ages. Our 5 years old girl loves minifigures... whether that's a Friends figure or CMF. We've bought her a few small sets which I've built for her (with her help...ish) but then she's never been that interested in them. I've got mostly UCS sets on display in my office room at the house... although it's a small house. I actually got back into Lego building a set that had been busted up that was owned by a little kid that lives next door to my parents. His cousins came round and trashed it and I put it back together from the box image... it was great. I then helped a young relative order his Lego stuff in his room and build some of his sets from the odd instruction book and box image... oddly enough they're all kind of 'growing out' of Lego... which leaves me as the only AFOL in my family... I actually only really know a couple of AFOLs in 'real life' outside of this forum... one of them is lucky enough to have his wife liking Lego but the other is already trying to keep his son interested in Lego as he grows up.
  17. I'll hold my hand up and say that I found Knightfall really hard work... It's just something that I don't think has aged particularly well. It just needs reading as a definitive moment in the Batman timeline. Same as Death in the Family. I don't think either of those stories is blessed with particularly good art. That may be blasphemous for some but I understand their place in the Bat mythos. Killing Joke on the other hand is a masterpiece and is penned by one of the greatest comic artists of all time, Brian Bolland while also being written by a legend, Alan Moore (both 2000AD stalwarts). Son of the Demon was a good book if a little short but it's also important in tat it's the joining of Bats and Talia and the birth of Damian... And how it's hidden from Bruce. I've recently picked up Black Mirror as it's had excellent reviews. Snyder and Capullo's work on Batman so far has been excellent for me... From the Owl arc to Death of the Family on to Zero Year. I picked up the Joker volume of DOTF but after reading certain members of the Bat Family's chapters I traded it. Some worked much better than others and I have Bats, Nightwing and Batman & Robin's volumes. Forever Evil is definitely something I'll be reading... The Grayson unmasking is an important moment... And I always like the idea of the antihero. Damian has really grown on me so I'm interested in his resurrection and how the character evolves. I'm interested to read some JL stuff but I've always had s slight aversion to Superman so I'll have to ease myself into that... Anyone recommend some essential Hellblazer? As a fellow scouser I almost feel obliged to read him..,
  18. I'd also probably say that the Helicarrier won't be Cuusoo/Ideas scale. That set is 22,000 pieces and is 2.3 metres long. It's probably closer to 1/4 or 1/5 of the piece count and less than half the length. The 10c a piece rule would make it $2,200... And we know it's $350. Still a sizeable set in its own right but not quite the full Ideas size.
  19. Hello all, I'm a big fan of Mike Mignola's work on Hellboy and the wider Hellboy and BPRD Universe. Similar to my experience with the DC New 52 I was a bit late to the party to pick up weekly issues so I've always worked on the trade paperbacks. I loved Hellboy's journey across all 12 volumes until his final battle and the subsequent titles Hellboy in Hell. I've read though most of the Abe Sapien storyline and have loved the Witchfinder, Sledgehammer 44 and Lobster Johnson titles as well as the first BPRD story arc the Plague of Frogs. I'm about to start working through the Hell On Earth arc while new titles are released for Lobster Johnson and Abe Sapien. We have some new titles coming up soon with Hellboy and the BPRD which tell some of the older stories of HB's time with the bureau as well as the Frankenstein Underground series which has yet to see daylight. While not directly part of the same universe I've also really enjoyed the Baltimore series of books and hope to see more of them appear in paperback form (I've read most of them through digital copies of the weeklies rather than the hardback books) I was wondering if there were any other Mignola fans on the board and what they thoughts are on the Hellboy Universe. I look forward to reading your opinions!
  20. I was pretty sure there may already be a thread set up for this but looking through the forum I really can't find one and searching has also been unfruitful! Bit of background first... I've been a Batman fan for many years... but not always a comic book reader with any kind of regularity (not since I was a kid). I read 2000AD as a young'un... and Dredd was by Batman as a kid... although there's many great characters in those pages. When I got a bit older I was never that interested in picking up weekly comics but got into reading trade paperbacks and graphic novels. I've read a lot of Batman's graphic novels and still own many of them but obviously with the advent of the New 52 there's a huge amount of overlap in stories and crossovers. One thing it's done is really make me sit up and take notice of other characters such as Nightwing (personally I'm thinking he'll return at some point but we'll stick with Grayson for now). I've picked up all of the New 52 Batman, Nightwing and Batman & Robin trade paperbacks to this point as well as Batman Incorporated as a follow on to Grant Morrison's pre-52 volume. So I'm kind of interested in people's thoughts on these titles as well as the Detective Comics, Dark Knight, Batman Eternal titles etc... which ones should I pick up... which don't work for you? I've been picking up digital copies of New 52 weeklies as a catch up for when there's a big gap to the paperbacks and the current weekly timeline. I really enjoyed Talon although I think by the end it was losing a little of the early spark it had... nice to see a brand new hero brought into the mix though. I've head that a lot of the writing for Catwoman was a bit iffy by Ann Nocenti although I'm keen to hear what any recent writing is like as well as any feedback on other related titles such as Batgirl, Batwing, Red Hood and the Outlaws etc. One other series that I've always liked is Green Lantern. It was actually the first US comic I ever bought and I've liked it ever since. I've read most of the Green Lantern series and I'm up to date with the Sinestro title (Sinestro is actually one of my favourite characters). Would people recommend the other GL titles such as the Green Lantern Corps? And then of course we have the rest of the Justice League and the Justice League Dark that I've barely mentioned (I'm sure we could have a whole thread devoted to just Hellblazer) So there we have it... for any of the DC fans here on the forum I'm interested to hear your views... which titles you read... which you don't (and why). I look forward to hearing all your thoughts.
  21. Probably not. I'd say that was the exact reason. Star Wars is an evergreen theme... the greenest of evergreens. It's become more and more glaringly obvious how much of a hole Cloud City is in everyone's OT collection following the list of Jabba releases to cover Tatoonine in ROTJ as well as the UCS Ewok Village that can sit alongside 8038 (which still actually holds up pretty well as a set). We've had X-Wings, Y-Wings, B-Wings and A-Wings to cover both attacks on the Death Star, numerous Hoth sets including various incarnations of Echo base (which we may be getting a large version of too) as well as AT-ATs, Snowspeeders and even a Wampa cave. We've had a cantina and Sandcrawler and T-16 SKyhopper to cover most of Tatooine on ANH along with a Falcon set that still looks good and the 10188 Death Star which is still alive and kicking. A Shuttle Tydirium is on the way (possibly with updated Endor camo heroes) and a final duel set which could give us a new Vader helmet with Sebastian Shaw alternate face(?). That just kind of leaves Cloud City and Dagobah as the glaring omissions from the fleshie revolution. Rebels and Episodes VII-IX will take up a lot of the waves for the next few years but who knows when they'll give us those elusive sets. I'm also thinking that 4-Lom and Zuckuss might actually make it into the CC set (or sets).
  22. Mine says Tracor and I must say the print isn't that great where the white text overlaps the blue image of the Slave One. The text trapping on the artwork is pretty bad.
  23. Brainiac Attack, Shadow Troopers, T-16 Skyhopper, Micro Snowspeeder, Batman & Super Angry Kitty Attack and a new Chewbacca keyring. Slave One and Green Lantern vs Sinestro a couple of days ago too
  24. I'll message you with the seller's link
  25. Yeah... I agree. Newt Scamander and his adventures have nothing to do with Hogwarts and take place far before Tom Riddle or the Wizarding Wars. Hogwarts would seem to be such a tenuous set when there's potential for a whole new world of characters and places. Even if some of the people from the 7 HP books do make an appearance... which I'm king of expecting they will, especially a young Dumbledore.
