Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Roebuck replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
It looks good! Apparently a very "masculine" part of the modular street I was hoping they would include a gull or two But a new cat is better than nothing! I assume the back alley are rat infested as well?! -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 13 Rumours and Discussion

The new Indian cobra (Naja naja) mould looks excellent -
First of all I am really happy we get a return of pirates, one of mine childhood favourites The blue coats are a welcome return, I have plenty of red ones from 2009! It looks like they have taken the 2009 series and put it in a blender and this is the smoothie that came out. Overall the smoothie was sweeter in 2009, but 2015 is not to bad either 2009 also got more sets, but if this series sells well so will this one.. Shipwreck Defence: This set is in my opinion better looking than 6239: Cannon Battle, but have more parts and will probably cost more=not so good for army building Soldier's Outpost: The raft in 6240: Kraken Attackin is better looking, but there are only pirates in that set= really bad army builder. Here we get 2 soldiers and a cannon, but for twice the pieces and price?! Treasure Island: Like this set better than 6241: Loot Island (with one big island piece). Hopefully the colour of the boat will change= pirates brown boats, soldiers another colour than brown Soldier's Fort: Not as good as 6242: Soldiers' Fort! Have over 100 pieces less, 1 soldier less, no monkey, no crocodile Hopefully the frogs are stand ins for a new animal mould! On the positive side it has a stud shooter in addition to the cannon and can connect to soldier's outpost?! "Pirats Ship" To early to say which is the best ship, this or 6243: Brickbeard's Bounty. They seem quite similar! 2015 has over 100 more pieces, if that is correct (?!) that is good news, but were they are hidden I am not sure 3 soldiers that is positive, no monkey, parrot or mermaid are negative.. Hopefully we will get the big shark like last time No army building impulse sets or a "limited" set like 6253: Shipwreck Hideout this time around?! Still we can hope for a d2c fort or fort/village and at least a great advent calendar like last time

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Roebuck replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
A fishmonger would be great!! Then they can give us a seagull (or more) they "owe us" after removing it from PR -
Hopefully no brick-built monsters!! Probably the usual "pirate animal" moulds, but if we are really lucky a new animal mould
-
If the picture in the "name the pirate ship" contest is anything to go by, it will have at least two firing cannons...
-
I would say the biggest problem with Friends is that the animal moulds are not usable in a minifig setting! Hopefully next years city line will include a new animal/colour mould like this years husky and polar bear

I hope the swamp police line will have a new animal mould, like the forest police line had the bear, but most likely it will include crocodiles/alligators if anything To bad it is no return of the farm line in the horizon

Sounds great, looking forward to see the pictures Do you think that we will get red coats again or return of the blue coats this time? Hopefully the line will be followed by a D2C set and/or a second line with more civilian based sets like the excellent 7189 Mill Village Raid

I was referring to the "minifig" foal in 6404 and 6418, not one of the useless animals from the friends line. Some people call it a pony for some reason, but it is obviously a foal! It is rather frustrating that the equivalent of today's friends series; "the paradisa" back in the days produced useful animal moulds like the foal. When the friends series of today produce many more animal moulds but no one is any good in a minifig set-up TLG pay close attention to what the fan community are up to, and I believe they released the goat to surprise and please the fans A sheep would have been the obvious choice, but before the goat was made I remember several people made very good "castle" moc's including goats in them, and I think they noticed the demand .. Maybe Lego determines to make new moulds like Faefrost and you say, but I still think there is hope for a reindeer mould. No doubt they have noticed the massive criticism against not making a mould of the reindeer's in this set... But since they did not take the opportunity in this set, I think it will be several years before we can enjoy it Ha en fin 17 mai L@go

I am sorry, but that is wrong! First of all Lego produce x-mas sets every year, so they could use a reindeer mould in them.. Second, Lego has in the past released several animal moulds they up to now only have used in 1 or 2 sets, e.g.: -foal, 2 sets -elephant, 2 sets (3 unique moulds I believe) -goat, 1 set -ostrich, 1 set -camel, 2 sets -big shark, 2 sets -seagull, 1 set -Chihuahua, 1 set etc.

A huge disappointment with the brick-built reindeer's!!! I have been waiting now for several years that Lego should make a set just like this with Santa's sledge and moulded reindeer's.. And when they finally make it, they brick build the reindeer's This would have been an great set with 5 reindeer's made of a new mould for the body and one for the antlers... OK they are cute, but they look fake next to moulded animals! Sometimes I do not understand TLG logic Take Medieval Market Village 10193 e.g., they included a all new cow mould and several other moulded animals, but also 3 brick built birds! What is the point?! Luckily they have made a hen mould later, hopefully they will come to their senses about the reindeer as well

I like that Lego include bicycles in more sets nowadays

News LEGO CREATOR 2014 News & Discussion
Roebuck replied to just2good's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I see that it have a new species of bird on the roof, but since it is in the creator line I guess the chances for a new mould or colour print is slim. Most likely brick built -
Did my post indicate that I did not know this? I said you have to look for the udder to determine the sex since the increase in size of horns just indicates a different breed of cattle. I am pretty sure Lego did not make a new bull mould for this set, so then we have cows of three different breeds now Actually there are cows and bulls that are borne without horns, not just have them removed From Wikipedia: “Polled livestock are livestock without horns in species which normally are horned. The term refers both to breeds or strains which are naturally polled through selective breeding and also to naturally horned animals which have been dehorned. Natural polling occurs in cattle, yaks, water buffalo and goats, and in these it affects both sexes equally; however in sheep, both sexes may be horned, both polled, or only the females polled.”

Huw from Brickset : "So, there are 4 sets: The small one with Galadriel and the witch king Lake town bell tower has some important character something like bain? in it Battle of the five armies, I don't recall much about that The Lonely Mountain, the one with Smaug in it. Sorry it's so vague, there's so much to take in and not much time to do so!"
-
Depends if it have an udder or not I guess it still have, so then it makes it a cow of the breed Texas Longhorn or a similar breed
-
Yes, a hole train alone.. Yes I agree, that would have been great
-
Thanks for answering! That was a disappointment I was hoping for four, realistically two, but one is a lot better than none.. Is it a “new” cow or just the brown one with “lone ranger horns”?
-
Yes, it is arctic city sets on the way and if we are extremely lucky they will include reindeer. If they change the antlers and the printing it is possible they can use the same mould for reindeer and elk/red deer, even though not ideal since the size is not a perfect match and they look different. However what Thranduil is riding is a now extinct species of giant deer; the Irish elk! That is a least twice the size of reindeer and elk/red deer. It is one of the largest cervids that ever lived, around the same size as the Alaskan moose and that mould can not be used on reindeer as well...
-
I agree we can use the boar in other themes if they do not make it to big. A fair bit bigger than the pig is OK, since the pig is rather small compared too the biggest wild boars, but not monster big. That’s why I do not agree with your conclusion, and prefer the boar over the huge bear TLC can use the brown bear they have in the set, tough I doubt they will! If Dain is riding a boar in the movie, I guess Thranduil will ride his Irish elk to battle, but that has even less chance of becoming a mould
-
To me the friends lamb and other friends animals are as useless as duplo ones. That is too bad because earlier series aimed at girls, have brought us animals we can use like the foal (I see some wrongly call it a pony) for instance. TLC care about what the customers want, if we make it clear we want more animal moulds, they will give it too us Yes, you are right and that was a nice surprise from TLC
-
You are probably right, but If Lego wanted to include sheep in a set they would have no problems making some buildable stuff to go with it. The other farm animals were also very “late to the party” as well except the horse off course. I believe Lego have understood that we want more animal moulds, but they are releasing them in a slow rate to save money and have us eagerly awaiting the next mould Take the goat for instance; they could have easily released a sheep instead. But in the period before the goat came out, several great moc’s with brick built goats were made. So maybe they wanted to surprise us, because I guess they pay rather close attention to what AFOL’s are doing. Do not get me wrong, I preferred the goat over sheep, because I think it is more likely with a sheep in the future than the other way around We can only hope for a quick return of the farm subtheme! A another matter is molded reindeers with Santa in the winter village series, that is a excellent opportunity I can not believe they have not used yet
