Rather than having an MOC per issue, what I would find useful and interesting would be focusing on a layout per issue. Go into details about how the layout was constructed and the techniques used for landscaping. Focus on layouts that have elevation changes and are not just tracks on a plain baseplate. Maybe articles on how the layouts can be broken down for shows. Due to the effort, six issues per year would be acceptable.

Brick-build the transition from airplane nose color to red in the front of the first passenger car.

I don't know much about the accuracy of Lego trains, but I think this is beautiful.

I think the brown wall needs to be taller.

So during a battle it's called bumping uglies.

MOC Modern lakeview house a few weeks after the dark ages ...

I would say you should buy one of the modular sets. You will learn a lot of techniques that way. -
Well my Crimson Permanent Assurance was based on a movie building, which was based on the Lloyds Register, a real building.

So here is an idea that has been banging around in my head for a while. Since this is a train themed apartment building, the developer put a display engine in the glass lobby (I got that idea from the Norfolk Southern building in Atlanta). I used Murdoch17's engine for comp purposes and will replace it with something I design. The tunnel is offset to work with our club's layout so the active trains will be able to run through the middle of the building. Theres a cafe viewing area on either side of the track.

I think it would look cool, and solve the height issues mentioned, if you built an extra brown level. Extend it to the side but don't add the blue part.

So this is my idea. Two of these will span a 32x baseplate. Even though LDD wouldn't allow me to do it, there should be no reason why I can't flip the lime green pieces so they connect the top of the arch to the superstructure.

I think it would be really interesting for you to revisit this each year as your parts collection and techniques improve. -
So the arch attaches at three points on each side?

Can you show a cutaway for how the underside of this arch is constructed. I'm building a 32stud wide one and I wanted to compare against what they did.

I think you should modify the three sided building so the tan line is consistent. Make it a brick tall, instead of just a plate tall, on the right side grey below the two 1x1 rounds bricks.

This isn't a bad idea. As much as I like the modulars, and I do, they are def not mini-fig scale. It would be interesting to standardize the actual scale around minifies and you could easily build three or four of these from one modular set, especially if you leave the sides open. And if you have them arranged in a layout, why would you need sides if its a single structure without removable floors. The main thing to make this happen would be the brick build the windows and doors, because the standard Lego door is not mining scale.

Great design, I think if the antenna were a color other than black it might be a little more noticible.

With the roof cleaned up the gaps caused but the 1x8 tiles are pretty obvious. Mod on folks.

Modulars usually offset the windows and doors half a stud using jumper plates. Interior looks great, but the exterior is a bit too simple. The bar shouldn't blend in with the wall color.

Ghostbusters (Reboot) 2016 sets rumors and discussion

Ten people liking it would make it more popular than GB2. -
If you are planning on collecting the modular sets you should start with the one which will be retired first, Pet Shop. However, if you are collecting them it behooves you to get the previous ones used before they get really expensive.

I just wanted to make sure there was no technical reason why I couldn't add hinged bricks. As far as I can tell, the only reason to not have hinged bricks is if you wanted to remove those wall panels to display it closed. Otherwise Lego could have easily built it with hinged bricks, especially with how they think model stability is important.
