This is a great concept. Excellent execution as well.

Many skyscrapers in New York were built taller just so they could block the view from the top office of other skyscrapers.

Slowly. Hopefully it will pick up momentum. It seems that all modulars have slow progress on there. I think I'm spoilt by how quickly support for my Apple Store is moving; which is a shame as its chances of being approved are questionable. LOL

I made some final modifications to the roof of my entry. I added an antenna, ventilation exhausts, and a water tower. I also extended the fire escape up to have roof access. I also lowered the technic bricks in the dumpsters so they sit on the baseplate, and I flipped the bike exhausts to the right and chains to the left.

Its going to be much easier if you upload to Flickr first.

You should enter the competition.

What a great concept.

I think its a great entry using a limited number of bricks. I'm glad you entered the contest even though it doesn't have enough floors. I like the tuba.

This might have been discussed elsewhere, but all the way on the left, sitting on the wall above the Death Star, are those two unreleased Alien Conquest sets?

I think the parts of the wing that angle up to the engines need to be taller.

Beautiful logo.

Considering his really was the only post that wasn't overly complimentary I tought you were referring to him. If not then I'm not sure where all of those criticisms you mentioned were since everyone else was very complimentary. Regardless, sorry for the misunderstanding. Cheers

He started out by saying, "While it is indeed a very nice moc".

LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors

Price per brick is used, IMO, because its the best way to get an average idea of value. Some people do factor in the value as to whether they will buy a set, Jabba's Palace, for example, has a lot of figs so using that ratio its a bad value and many people will not spend that much for a relatively small number of bricks. I do not break UCS sets down for parts so what's important to me is how the B-Wing looks rather than how many parts it contains. Obviously there is a limit to this point of view, for example, if they had used half the number of pieces to build out those wings I would not buy it. I don't think the "Lego isn't chep" argument holds water, because the UCS R2 represents a better "price per brick value" while still being subject to the Lucas-tax, as opposed to using the Haunted House or Modular houses for comparison. Other people have suggested we use a ratio based on weight as a more accurate reflection of value, but I don't like that for the reason I mentioned concerning the wings. -
Man, that's a lot of Lime, but your Falcon looks good. There is a good Mini on Cuusoo using those curved wheel arch pieces. Dropping the scale would save you pieces, but those large lego cars are really impressive.

Fantastic detail; love the shuttle and skeleton excavation, but you loose points for not using an Indiana Jones fig in the museum.

Nice technique on those door curtains. I guess this is where the Friends figs get jobs if they're rebelling against their parents.

The Blocade Runner, the Imperial Shuttle, and the B-Wing were the ships that really stood out in my mind from the movies. -
I don't have enough lime, so raher than hitting brick link I'm just using yellow.

I'm just being funny, I love it.

I agree, for those unfamiliar think Moulan Rouge. You used some good techniques working the cylindrical body of the windmill into the rectangular corner of the facade. Great concept, I really like it

That's awful...oh wait, no it isn't.

Going dark green instead of sand green would look pretty good. How picky are you with the colors and details? -
I like that it doesn't feel like the typical "apartment over a business" formula even though it is an apartment over a business. I also like how you used the short stairs to raise your bar level so you could have the diagonal floor treatment. I don't think it would have been quite as interesting if you had a door leading to the outside from that room with the floor being raised just one brick level. As far as your neck gables, how do you have the upside down price of persia arches attached? Despite my entry being a big box, I like how your shape isn't filling the vertical space with a big box. Good parts usage with those rectangular cross-braced pieces (whatever the offical term is) on cafe's covered patio; I like not only how you didn't feel like you had to use them on the left side, but also how you simulated a sliding-widow with the two window pieces. I knew what the posts on the gables were for, but do dutch buildings really use different ones on the same structure (square and round on yours)? I guess in this case it was two individual buildings that were converted into a single business. Very nice techniques here and the bar keeps getting raised. Judging is going to be really hard.
