  1. Here's a pic of the good 'ol Jalopy: Apologies for it not being full view, this is from LEGO's own website. I would assume the bends are meant to be done by using Technic click-hinge piece and black tubing. EDIT: Seen the ending. Ronin was apparently in it for money, but I won't go any further into "spoilers" than that. They also reveal what Dareth has been doing with the Helmet of Shadows, needless to say it's hilarious. The ending can be found
  2. That's very subjective. Anyone can determine the quality of the episodes themselves, and it will differ from one person to another. Nearly every LEGO line receives club articles and magazine inserts, and as for "detail" (I'm not sure what you mean, do you mean detail in character bios or as in design?) that can be very subjective as well, relatively speaking. Website updates, aside from official release of the minisodes and PC version of Mask of Creation, have for the most part not carried anything that sparks a lot of discussion among the community. There's already complaints among certain areas of the community that there's been a "drought", so to speak. We have three months to go, and all we have to expect is official release of episodes 8 and 9 in April. If LEGO is planning something big enough that would spark long and meaningful talk amongst fans, it would have likely been announced by this point. The only thing I can realistically see LEGO potentially doing is another "Battle for the Golden Mask"-type competition. My original point still remains, what we know about the first year of the BIONICLE reboot's major media coverage (approx. 30 minutes of screen time, an activity book and a story book, one competition) is that it's very little in comparison to what other lines have received in the past.
  3. In 2001 MNOG had updates each month, and the comics were every two months. We've already had 7 episodes officially published on the LEGO website, and 8 available to view. We still have three months to go at minimum until we get the Summer arc's beginning, no game updates in sight, no comics/similar media to be released in this year, and only one book which is to be released in August. That's a pitiful release schedule, and the book is likely just going to retell the Winter arc in more detail. But even so, if you still want to debate Gen 1, there is also the question of modern-day LEGO. NINJAGO was able to spread 26 episodes over the course of a year with some (short) books (bi-weekly, although the schedule varied), and Chima had 41 episodes in two years and books in the first year. Just last year NINJAGO had 8 20 minute episodes, a video game, multiple graphic novels and a book or two. But of course, NINJAGO had all that after it was a better seller than BIONICLE was in 2001, but even in NINJAGO's first year it had a 40-minute long pilot "season" with [at least] 8 well-respected voice actors, four books (with six special edition variants) and a small series of graphic novels. Awesome character artwork was abundant, and every single location in the pilot was given a detailed explanation in a Lore section with details on species, environment and dangers. There was even a NINJAGO-based spin off of LEGO Battles. It also had six minisodes (all of which were longer than BIONICLE's current ones) and a song that still represents the series in some form today. Heck, it even had its own Youtube channel. BIONICLE's reboot undeniably pales in comparison to that kind of media coverage, and it's even funnier considering most of NINJAGO's stuff came out on day 1. BIONICLE is using an awkward mix of "big explosion" and "slow burn" thrown in with a seemingly small media budget.
  4. We're in March and already we have the entirety of the main Winter plot over and done with. There's still episode 9 to go, which is mostly exposition/fluff, and that's the problem. We've gotten the entirety of the story in to brief a period of time, and now the BIONICLE community is going to go crazy because there's nothing to discuss. Even with the pointless stuff filling up the comics (Rahkshi Kaita), there was still something to look forward to. We haven't even gotten news on the 7 Rings "Golden Masks of Power" since NYC comic con. For a story-based line such as BIONICLE, a slow burn-type story is better than an immediate load of plot like HF had.
  5. They were wearing their 2011 outfits before Ronin went POOF with their memories. Lloyd is probably off accepting awards again.
  6. I used quotation marks for a reason. I was referring to season 4. EDIT: https://www.youtube....h?v=4PZF3glR_-I Shadow of Ronin trailer. I'm dreading this being canon more than ever now. On the bright side (or downside), looks like Ronin isn't Kai's father after all. Not without significant genetic alteration/hair dye, anyway. I'm not even sure how this is meant to fit into the canon, all of the ninja (aside from Zane) and Nya are wearing their 2011 outfits, Sensei is wearing his "memoires" kimono, and the entire game seems all over the place when it comes to the plot. Kai has his scar, the voice actors are completely different to their TV show counterparts (credit due to the guy that does Jay, he's doing a fairly good job). It seems like they grabbed any pre-made stuff from the plot and jammed it in wherever they could, somehow Ronin has control over Nindroids. I'm not looking forward to this one bit.
  7. This is getting ridiculous. Eight minisodes released in English by LEGO themselves? Sure, this episode is a partial exception, but it's still ridiculous that we're not even out of March and the story for the first half of the year is virtually concluded already. Not as huge a stuff-up as what CN did with season 4 of NINJAGO, but considering this is LEGO's own in-house team...
  8. Thanks to Ayliffe Makit for this: I have my own theories on the memory removal thing.
  9. "Stolen Armor", eh? We know that Stone Armor can shape-shift, and Ronin is likely a Samurai, so it would make sense. His ability to steal memories... Lu, Ed and Edna explanation? Would make sense, I'll post it in the TV thread.
  10. Nope. Club Magazine has a history of making stupid errors. We know from the "leaked" (HA!) episodes that that's not going to be the way it happens, at the very least not in full. If you want to respond to this, quote me then copy+paste it into the Culture thread.
  11. Oh. Sorry, thought your post was using Just2Good's example as evidence
  12. Uh, hoplites were from Greece, not Rome I do agree with you though, Kopaka is an awesome set. I got bored of him though and currently he has no arms until I either buy a spare Toa or finish the MOC I'm working on.
  13. Sorry Leewan, that's been known for at least a month now.
  14. That's incredible. Nice work!
  15. Yeah, sure. "Evil Green Ninja". Doesn't sound like "Lloyd transforming into Morro thus making two of them!" to me. Nor does it sound like Morro possessing Lloyd. When I said "Lloyd will not become Morro, and Morro will not become Lloyd" I meant that literally. Unless you're trying to convince me the Morro figure is actually Lloyd, I'm done arguing plot details with you in the set thread.
  16. Hence why I retained the possibility of it happening in my post. But Lloyd will not become Morro, and Morro will not become Lloyd.
  17. Morro's symbol has big bushy eyebrows, and the tendrils at the back of the head have a thinner base and are longer than the ones on Lloyd. Morro's is also rounded and shorter at the bottom, giving it a "Grumpy Cat" look. As I said before, they are similar, but most certainly not the same. Morro's outfit in general is inspired by different incarnations of the ninja, the mouth scarf from Rebooted, the torso from 2011, and the pants are inspired by both the Kimono forms and the Zukin outfits. He isn't Lloyd, he isn't going to become Lloyd, he is a separate character entirely who will in fact appear this way in the next season and does make an appearance in season 4. Whether or not he possesses Lloyd like the Overlord possessed Garmadon, or if Lloyd will be corrupted (and he likely will be) remains to be seen.
  18. There have been no "green ninjas" before Lloyd. And no, he doesn't have the same symbol as Lloyd. It's very different to Lloyd's in many different ways.
  19. What Pohatu's incentive for not joining in while they were bickering is very subjective. There's multiple ways of looking at it. It could be seen as ignoring the others, it could be seen as being mission-oriented, it could be seen as him being a good friend and keeping his eye open in case of danger, it could be seen as staying away from the others because they smell, and it could also be seen as what you said. It could be seen as any of these things, even all of them. Anyway, what's become of that weird 4chan thing from a few pages back?
  20. Still very much a friendly guy? Came across to me more as "Shut up you idiots, we don't have time for this". From what I've seen of Pohatu in the earlier years of BIONICLE he just liked having people around him and wanted to make sure everyone had a good time. Or at least, the most you can when you've got giant red and blue mechanical chickens trying to eat your homeland. Now, he's just shallow. He didn't even join in the banter between the Toa, he was just staying on guard and only speaking when it was of the utmost importance.
  21. I didn't think the fan outcry was that much. Sure, it's only a simple alteration to the audio clips, but still. Well, it shows that LEGO isn't going all la-dee-da about this like they have with NINJAGO.
  22. Probably never. The sets haven't even showed up around where I live yet. By the time they do, I'll have already bought all the new BIONICLE sets.
  23. He actually sounds a bit creepy to me. Something about the slowness of his voice and the way he says things is just... weird. Oh dear... you just opened up a possibility I hadn't considered. Fingers crossed that none of the Skull villains have voices inb4 summer episode leaks Well, LEGO isn't even trying to pace themselves anymore. We're not even out of March yet, and already we have 7 out of 9 minimovies available.
  24. Glad to see I'm not the only one who felt this way. Italian Lewa sounded snarky and sarcastic... English one? Not so much.
