  1. Ugh, seeing as I don't have a Smartphone there's no way I'm competing in this. I'm not carrying my camera around with me for 6 weeks in hopes of winning when there's such as tiny chance.
  2. That's not an excuse. The TV show versions of the 2011 suits had horrendous errors in them. Compare Jay's, Kai's and Zane's to Cole's. You'll see a huge difference.
  3. Please no. Pretty much well every female character that had potential and an established character has been completely ruined after season 4. PIXAL is now a redundant plot device no one ever cares about or mentions, Skylor becomes completely useless after the finale, and Nya is about to undergo a significant (and stupid) change that destroys the "independence" theme she had going. Samurai of water, c'mon, it's not that hard to do. As for more female characters being introduced, PIXAL and Skylor are sadly shining examples of why I hope no more come. I want to see more of them, but if they can't keep even Nya consistent or someone like Misako or seemingly Skylor even relevant for more than one season, there's no point. Back on-topic, I hope I'm not the only one disgusted with how little effort went into detailing the ninja's "dragon" insignias on any of the Winter minifigs. The details were blurry and far inferior to the original 2011 versions, and despite the originals being far smaller they had a higher level of detail than the Winter ones.
  4. It's not really anything special. It's literally the Monastery copy+pasted 10 times in one direction, then 100 times upwards. But, here you go anyway: Apologies that I can't find a better picture, but that's the basic artstyle of it.
  5. Not really. The new symbol looks more like one of the ninja's own symbols, and seems like an attempt to push Nya away from the fire motif she's always carried. I love seeing Nya taking on her roles as the ninja of water but... well, it just doesn't build on prior expectations.
  6. Yes, let's not forget the symbol: They're similar, but not the same (which was my argument all along).
  7. Ugh, I hate Spinjago. The Monastery had its time, and was destroyed because of how unsecretive it was. Spinjago doesn't even make sense, there's presumably still Wu's Academy for training new students, the Samurai Cave for construction of secret projects, the DB Xpress and the DB 2.0. Sadly, that reminds me of the secret location (not in the game, in the lore) where the Golden Armor is hidden. I get that they don't want to bring up that plot thread again and want to have a bit of realism (HA) in the lore, but it's really sad that there are so many loose ends and plot threads never tied up and likely never will be, or even a chance to with The NINJAGO Movie looming on the horizon. There are dumb Golden Bricks they ripped straight out of other non-LEGO games, but no Minikits.
  8. That's Curtis Cheung's account...
  9. I was under the impression that "season 2" would probably be launching in July?
  10. Well... LEGO could always add a pack of unlabeled sugar-free gummy bears to winning boxes. That's more than enough compensation for not getting one to me :)
  11. It's called "Hunt for the Golden Mask/s" so that's a hint. It's probably not strictly a raffle, but it's likely going to be some kind of ARG potentially mixed with a raffle.
  12. Rush has been updated to feature the Morro level (previously "coming soon"). Have yet to play that level myself, but be warned: stats have been reset. EDIT: New level is interesting. It's not very fun IMO, but it's a time-based level. Something to do with escaping a temple filled with Skreamers before the sunrise.
  13. ...I was joking about the VA thing.
  14. If it was a console game, it would be the exact same thing, except with voice acting cut from the TV show.
  15. Uh... I always brought up the idea that we might get another Mask giveaway/competition. And I think it's reasonable to doubt the ninth episode officially releasing in August Anyway, if there was only one building competition, good. They're fun, but they can really divide the community between the have and the have-nots. EDIT: Just bought Pohatu, Protector of Stone and LOSS, completing my Winter collection (except for the Hero Pack ). My thoughts on them: Pohatu: Bit bland. Love the Kakama, love the chestpiece. They did a great job making the burnt orange still feel like his main color despite there being more silver. Boomerang shoes aren't exactly the best, Gali's fins work a lot better than them. I wish they had have made his gear box work for both arms, and that his 3M silver shells had been a more traditional cream. Would have done wonders for his looks, and been a real throwback to his Gen 1 Mata and Nuva forms. PoS: Awesome, fave of the Protectors. Blue eyes are out of place, but give a good amount of pop to differentiate them from the rest of the set. His mask is glorious, and the pepper grinder of death is amazing. His legs have some issues with posing, and like Pohatu he probably should have had cream colored 3M shells in place of silver ones. LOSS: Like him better than I thought I would, he's bigger than I thought he'd be, and not as awful as I thought he would be. He's still my least favorite, and I don't think added posability would change that. Going to mod him once I get enough of the stand-alone ball pieces so he's got proper legs. His mask is out of place, and I actually like his chest-face. Golden mask is out of place, though.
  16. Ooh, this is exciting. Dibs the solid gold MoCr!
  17. Well, it could mean that she was given a proper body again and isn't a more useless and irrelevant Cortana. You're welcome. I'm glad to see my old wallpaper is getting some use now
  18. It's canon but it does absolutely nothing of importance. It's a disappointment, and a cash-in by both LEGO and Warner Brothers. The developer (TT Fusion) is notorious for producing some of the worst LEGO games - notably TLGM: The Game and LEGO Indiana Jones 2. Neither game was truly horrible, but they were both some of the most unoriginal takes in the LEGO franchise. It's clear that the writers were very familiar with NINJAGO, but weren't of enough skill or with the flow of the plot to do anything notable. It feels like The Legend Reborn; the developers were too focused on "making their mark" that they went straight past anything important and/or good.
  19. Not really looking for proof that he's Kai's father, moreso proof that this game isn't an utter waste of time and resources like Nindroids was. What about the brainwashed serpentine? Does that get tied up or is it a loose end? Because his actions affect all of NINJAGO. Apparently he was trying to open the Cursed Realm, but who hired him and why wasn't revealed. If he's gone for good, good riddance. Sadly, it seems like the LEGO Universe content expansion will be the greatest NINJAGO game tie-in we ever get.
  20. If Gen 2 goes beyond its original 3 years, I don't want to see them expanding out the story in a way that "taints" the core material, such as Metru Nui or Voya/Mahri Nui. Both were awesome concepts and places, but they strayed too far from the original concept of BIONICLE. I'd like to see a "soft" reboot of Gen 2 after the 3 year-run, set in an entirely new location with a new cast of characters and some ties to Okoto but nothing huge and gigantic that crossed the borders between the two yet still allowed for an eventual showdown for the fate of both locations when the line reaches its "climax" and LEGO wants to discontinue it. Or in other words, not Bara Magna
  21. Another one already? Stop it LEGO, build this franchise up over time instead of rushing through it.
  22. Did they even touch on Kai's father's "dark secrets"?
  23. So... what was your original point, then? Both the Minisodes and NINJAGO's pilot were/have been of very high quality. Ah, the sweet irony of the situation. I was waiting for someone to point this out Well, what discussion would there have been in place of that had those documents not been leaked? In the absence of that leak, there would have been virtually nothing discussed. Hey, you ever wondered why we're here? I see what you mean, but LEGO has historically had relatively long periods of time without any information on future events. My own example of NINJAGO is flawed because of this, it had a "big explosion" because the story was wrapped up immediately. HF is a shining example of this, and other lines such as Atlantis had the same problem. It's year 1, it's not unreasonable to expect a lack of "serious" news with the story/alternate media.
  24. Actually seven masks are left, but sadly we don't know if they will even be used in a competition. If I recall correctly, 32 solid gold Haus were made and only 5 were given away to the public, apparently the rest are in the hands of LEGO employees. So then exactly what are you saying? How can you compare the quality of one story to another? It rests in opinion and personal view of the quality. I find the art style of the minisodes very high-quality, for the most part. The voice-acting, not so much. And in NINJAGO, I find the art style of its pilot to be very high-quality, for the most part. And the voice-acting was very good as well. People will debate quality. Some people hate, dislike, or are annoyed by the narrator voicing everyone and find it as a sign of less quality than had there been multiple actors. Others find it of very high quality that we have a man who can distinctively voice at least eight different characters. Some find the writing to be high-quality, others find it "kiddy" or cliched, even poorly planned while others enjoy it. "Quality" visual media such as this is subjective, it's not as simple as a comparison between BBS and CCBS sockets where one is undeniably, and objectively better than the other. While I'm comparing total screentime you're comparing a series of short, concise webisodes designed to get to the point of the story with minimal fluff. Have they succeeded? Absolutely. NINJAGO's original storytelling, however, was designed to be a 40-minute long TV special that can and has been divided into 1, 2 and even 4 parts. Comparisons of "quality" don't really work in this scenario because you can't chop a 40-minute special into 25 parts and expect it to work, and you can't glue each minisode back-to-back and expect it to work as well as it does in separate parts. But that's just a comparison between the two main forms of media the story was told in. There was far more content NINJAGO was given, including the most expansive released world in LEGO Universe with more worlds planned for the 2011 arc. There were graphic novels, books, even a Brickmaster kit. Which is a statement that discredits your own words. Hence why I exclude episode 8 and 9 from whenever I state "official" releases. Assuming their release is next month, that still leaves two months of secrecy. I'm not sure if you were referring to the minisodes as "leaked documents" or if there's something I'm not aware of going on, but unless there will be a new competition or a spin-off series telling the tales of the Protectors, is there really anything huge to expect? There's obviously going to be new stuff during those two months, like extra wallpapers or possibly even a exclusive Toys R Us set revealed. But the fact of the matter is, we don't have any reason to actually expect anything to happen. Can it happen? Yes. Will it happen? To be determined.
  25. Well, if that's the case, I've still got questions about the Serpentine Wars and the Masters of Fire, Water, Earth, Ice and Lightning, and how Zane was captured. Sadly though, I know you're not able to answer them. We can assume/speculate quite a bit on these things now that we know the nature of Ronin's powers and his greedy nature, yet I get the feeling this will never be explained canonically. Thank you very much Penkid, we wouldn't have this info so easily without you.
