  1. Some still do. I meet my local BL seller in parking lots to hand over cash in exchange for a handful of little plastic bags. Not that I'm that addicted to BL as a parts source nor old grey with new. I think I can adjust to change. Day 120 of 365: Down And Out by dr_spock_888, on Flickr
  2. Blimey, the referees don't take credit cards.
  3. Made with bits and pieces from CITY fire trucks and CITY train sets.
  4. Not going to peek until after I read Jim and Tiny's commentaries.
  5. Congrats. Interesting that they didn't use your real name.
  6. I used a piece of flex tubing instead of a technic axle for this build. Camelback Steam Locomotive by dr_spock_888, on Flickr It seems to run ok. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FezhdIV6lzQ
  7. I think it is like seeing a set with a good on sale price and you buy it. Now you have to figure out what to do with it as it is not a theme you build/collect. First you get get rid of the stickers because as an AFOL you don't like stickers. Then you try to fit the other stuff into your collection...
  8. Have you checked for air leaks?
  9. Very festive MOC for the season. Good work and Merry Christmas.
  10. I have no preference to which one is better. I enjoy both. Ok, in-house may be winning here. Day 053 of 365: Blacktron Pit Crew by dr_spock_888, on Flickr
  11. May eventually have to apply for permission first with Disney before you MOC anything they owned. http://disneypermissions.force.com/WelcomeIntakePage
  12. I think to protect their brand and limit their liabilities. Risk mitigation of litigation. LEGO® doesn't have quality control over 3rd party parts unless they implement some sort of LEGO® tested & approved goods system. If a 3rd party good causes harm like LiPO battery burned down house, LEGO® do not want to be a party in the potential lawsuit as the enabler for that item to be purchased.
  13. Thanks Darnok. I really like how you named my team members. Great job on the play by play commentary. Go Sea Rats!
  14. It could be done at trains show. Take two identical cars and have one with old wheels and one with new wheels. Take some before pictures and caliper measurements. Run the train all day. At the end of the day. take after pics and measurements. Do the same for every show and then report results at the end of the show season.
  15. I think super glue vapour can irritate the mucous membranes and lungs according to Material Safety Data Sheet. Thanks for the heads up, I am not going to try that when I have to solder the new part in. It's a 2019 Golf Sportwagen 6 speed manual with a 1.4T gas engine. I bought it to carry more LEGO®. There is no more new TDI sold over here after that "Diesel Gate" scandal. Which Euro 6 Diesel did you get? Nice. More money for LEGO? I printed a replacement watering can spout with TPU. It is much more durable being outside in the garden than the one I printed in PLA. I'm thinking TPU might be useful for custom LEGO compatible leaf springs. Do you design your own parts?
  16. Nicely done. What's the tractive effort on the steam engine?
  17. Great job. You captured the prototype quite nicely.
  18. Yoda's head is a licensed part. Depending on the licensing agreement LEGO® signed with the licensor, there may be restriction clauses on how and where it can be used in their products. I don't think there is anything to stop us from re-using it in some weird creative way. Imagination use must we. Propeller Rail Car by dr_spock_888, on Flickr
  19. Nice job on the field. Would not having a line between goal posts help or hinder the team's chances with the referees on the close calls?
  20. Thanks. Thanks. Aye, we're in Corrie land for this tournament. Thanks. My favorite minifig head print. Thanks. How did that rat get in the picture? Where's WTC pest control? Thanks. I look forward to playing in the tournament instead of running it.
  21. Great to see the pineapples return. The market build and story are a winner.
  22. Aye, a fresh start under new management. They might play better if they weren't shackled together. (Although that makes it easier to do a group burning.)
  23. Thanks. I bought the Anet A6 kit printer in 2017. I had to assemble it and fine tune it myself. Print quality is good enough for a PU adapter to 9V DC motor that fits into the PU Hub. I use vase mode for some things. It's fun. Which slicer program do you use? I like Cura. Reliability is ok for a hobby printer. The printer worked fine before the 5V voltage regulator IC on the main board failed the other day. I didn't expect much for an under $200 kit. The failure is an opportunity to learn to desolder SMT parts. I learned I don't like working with SMT. Just my luck, I don't have a spare 7805 voltage regulator. It is fixable when the new 7805 IC arrives. Or I hack in a 5V DC power supply if I am really desperate to 3D print in the mean time.
