You can probably use them for operating crossing gates.

Discontinuation of “Grab Bags” in LEGO Brand Retail
dr_spock replied to Bricksan's topic in General LEGO Discussion
There is a topic on this last year in the Embassy forum -> http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=74668&hl=%20grab%20%20bags&st=0 -
For outdoor events our bases have holes to drive large nails through them. Our stanchions get pegged to the ground and stay in place until we yank them out.

Definitely looking forward to getting the dvd or bluray disc.

LegoLand Discovery Center to Open in Boston MA May 2014
dr_spock replied to ShaydDeGrai's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I think the one in Toronto (Vaughn), Ontario, Canada may be closer to Boston than Chicago. My neice came up from Boston to visit it this year. Are they holding a competition to find/hire the Master Builder for that LDC? -
Thank you, gentlemen. I think it is best to keep them creatures contained like in a cattle stock car rather than an open gondola. Perhaps a scary 10002 club car with large windows for next Halloween.

Is this axle 7 is too long in PF train motor set?
dr_spock replied to mikezang's topic in LEGO Train Tech
This is the one I found in the set inventory for the Horizon Express that works with my 8866 motor in my picture. The HE train set came with them. http://www.bricklink...tem.asp?P=2871b -
Is this axle 7 is too long in PF train motor set?
dr_spock replied to mikezang's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Can you post a picture of your motor with the wheels and axles? If 6 is too short and 7 is too long, you may have to cut a 7 to size. But you should haven't to do that. -
Those heavy duty stanchions look like a pain to transport and move around. I think the straps could be too high that little kids can go under. What do your home made stanchions look like? We made our own too.

Lots of building action for this Halloween. Take a ride on the PF motorized Ghost Train with Monster Wagon carrying monsters, ghosts, zombies, ghouls out trick or treating. You wouldn't want these guys getting out and roaming your neighborhood. Spooky in the dark. Ghosts don't seem too happy locked in the back. Contest Entries. Guess which is for which contest. Happy Halloween!

Thanks for the picture link. Very cool MOC.

Happy Halloween! Presenting my Monster Wagon for transporting monsters, ghosts, zombies, ghouls to their Halloween haunt. Ghosts don't seem too happy in the back. With Ghost Train:

8053 is a good set for parts too. You get 8 wheels, LA, technic bricks, gears. I haven't built my copy yet so I can't say if it was fun or not.

Wow, this is looking really good. You'll have to pose some trains with it.
-
Thanks. The M-motor seems to be ok with one or two cars. I ran into trouble with pulling 4 cars on flex track. I'll definitely have to replace the M-motor with a PF train motor and move the receiver if my LUG ever decides to do a train layout at events. Thanks. Here are some more shots of the modified 7710 carriage.

This is my longest train so far. It takes up half my track oval.
-
Nice MOD. Looks like a good set to get curve tracks too.
-
Thanks guys. I had to made a couple of modifications to get the engine around sharp flex-track curve. I replaced one set of driving wheels with the blind drivers. Lego was nice enough to include blind drivers with the ghost train set. I also changed the ball hitch to a drawbar bar setup so that it can negotiate tight curves better. I changed the motor extension to shorter cable and had room to move the IR receiver in the crew cabin by one more stud. I think it is easier with 9V motors. Here is a video of it going around my tight small track.

Looks good. I remember seeing TTX cars in the Boston area. Are you going to build as many as you can?
-
The video doesn't seem to be working on my iPad. Could be Flash. Do you have pictures?

It is there on the Canada shop.lego.com site.

In preparation for Halloween, I've added Power Functions to my Ghost Train. Ghost Train - Power Functions by dr_spock_888, on Flickr Replaced the front boogie with PF train motor: Ran the wire through the firebox. Installed a battery box in the prisoner car and IR receiver in the crew cab. Optional: A magnetic coupler can be added to pull other trains.
