[REVIEW] 42024 - Container Truck
dr_spock replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Thanks for the review, Jim/Ted. Great lighting in the pictures. Not bad for non-flagship set. I may get it eventually. -
Does the DVD play in regions outside of the UK? Dec. 12th was mentioned a few posts above.

Thanks. It was a combination. It started as a delta wing jet plane MOC but then I thought it looked like it could be an aerodynamic train car with jet engines. I did a quick search on the Internet to see if there are real things like that. Saw the propeller rail car and decided a propeller would be more interesting than a couple of jet engines in the back. So I ripped the incomplete wings off and added the wheels and prop bits. Thanks. It might be difficult to squeeze in PF. The current shape is too low to fit in a battery box. I would have raise the roof line to fit that stuff in. It would certainly be a fun challenge. It appears that the Schienezeppelin has single axles too. I found the EB thread but it appears that images are gone. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=32894 Thanks. I think there is a $50 million MaxMillions and $19 million Lotto649 this week. Thanks.

Good work. I like your vinyl top idea. Does it work as a non-slip surface? You must be a fellow Canadian if you shop at Canadian Tire.

Theme Month for Technic
dr_spock replied to VKTechnic's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
There was an end of the world theme contest last year in the Eurobrick Action forum if I recall. Maybe a build a Technic clock or calendar month? A Time Tech month? -

Nice working the bugs. (Technically a crab is not an insect.) -

Cool idea. I think this could be used to market Technic to girls. -
Welcome to Eurobricks, Conrad.

I was playing around to make a delta wing supersonic passenger jet and this popped out instead: Propeller Rail Car by dr_spock_888, on Flickr

Great prizes. 1 in 1.15 odds. Thanks CopMike!

I didn't notice the CN truck. At what timeline point in the video did you see that truck? I am not aware of CN operating outside of Canada and the United States. I don't think the video is from Quebec, Canada. The host didn't sound like he was speaking Quebecois. Also the trucks and trailers appear to be European style.

Renovating trains (so far models 4558 and 4563)

Welcome aboard. It would be interesting to see how the restore turned out. -
Opened and built a bunch of Ninjago polybags.

Nice build. Might be fun to add some rail wheels to the pickup truck.

Good work on the Lego implementation. It's an interesting way to load/unload trailers. In the North America, they just lift the whole trailer onto a flat bed with a fork lift. I guess it is not possible if your system has overhead electricity. French video:

Very nice. Cool camera quad-pod.

I think a couple of train motors for my train MOCs.

Tried to get a handle on my ever growing sorting backlog.

[Software] LDD2PovRay
dr_spock replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I have a dual core and it takes hours to render. My son has an 8 core. It renders about 3 times faster than my dual core. I am not sure if 32 vs 64 bit makes a big difference. I do the LDD on my machine and use his machine to render when he is not using it over night. I haven't played much with the settings other than the resolution.
