  1. One of my LUG members had to call LEGO Customer Service for a missing package and they sent him another one.
  2. LEGO had resealable bags at one time for their Grab Bags. They did away with that offering several years ago. Unless you bring your own, reusing used plastic bags can have health and safety implications for the germophobic.
  3. Function over form. The rotator crane feels a bit tall. Nice set nonetheless.
  4. As a newbie, it took a few evenings of trial & error and salty pirate speak to get the machine to cut a sail piece. Not rocket science but dark arts and crafts.
  5. Christ, have mercy! Or computer controlled Sword of Exact Zero. One of the steps on the Klic-N-Kut before cutting is to set the origin point (0,0).
  6. Would electric contact cleaner work?
  7. Impressive. Does it pack up nicely to take to events and shows?
  8. The Cricut can cut out the sails and flags to the correct shape. It won't be able to print graphics or letters on the material. Think of it as a fancy computer numeric controlled pair of scissors. I was recently given an old Klic-N-Kut machine. Blimey, it needs Windows XP and RS232 serial. It'll be arts and crafts when I can get it working.
  9. The link returns the following message for me:: The playlist does not exist.
  10. Don't forget the Mindstorm RCX and NXT back in the days. Plus 9V LEGO train tracks. Powered UP works pretty good at a lower price point than EV3 or Spike. I guess it's a do you like building carburator or fuel injection gasoline engine? It could be easier to fix software bugs than rework mechanic hardware. It can be more interesting for the viewer to see mechanical mechanisms in action. Although, you could put up a debug screen to show which part of the code is executing to the viewers. Know your target audience to put on a good show.
  11. You could try the even though we all come in different colours and shapes, we're all still human beings explanation. Children will ask the strangest questions out of the blue. Be creative. Thanks for the review. I think this set is good starter into monochromatic minifigure collecting.
  12. Noah's Ark with every animal LEGO ever produced would be awesome. Every animal is awesome. If LEGO doesn't do Bible, I suppose we can recreate scenes using Star Wars characters like a David and Goliath in alternative ending.
  13. I have similiar deformation with tires on baseplate of my 1980s fire station set. It sat on a shelf for years at a time and only moved when I changed residences.
  14. I have some LEGO in the car as a sunglasses holder on the dash. They seem to be holding up ok in the sun. It is not Arizona hot up here but it can get hot enough to deform 3D printed PLA plastic under load inside the car. ABS has a higher glass transition temperature than PLA.
  15. It could be an easy way to start a monochromatic minifigure collection without a lot of Bricklinking.
  16. Interesting. You can probably recycle into the objects that don't need much strength like PU connectors. You could make multicolor filament if you rough sort the bricks into batches of the similar color.
  17. The V2 PF receiver has different motor driver IC. It allows for more current. I think it has issues when more than one PF M-motor are connected to the same channel. https://www.philohome.com/pfrec/pfrec.htm For my Horizon Express, I made an adapter cable that reverses the polarity of one of the two train motors in the engine. Some people have also rewired one of the train motors as a solution.
  18. Around 10K-ish. All those LEGO® flagship Technic sets aren't cheap.
  19. You could clean them and grind them down. Then melt and extrude into ABS filament for use on your 3D printer. It might be easier to pass the bricks down as family heirloom.
  20. Good to hear that you can still get them through LUGBULK. What was the rumour based on?
  21. Maybe they're thinking spare in case one breaks?
  22. I think LEGO used to give a figure of $250K for a mold or something like that. If you can do the CAD work yourself, you could outsource the tooling work to China, It isn't bad, if you can sell enough units to recover your investment and more. Example of 3rd party train track costs
  23. To connect a PU remote to the Technic hub, I think you have to use the Power UP App on your phone or tablet and code a control profile.
  24. I am seeing Technic pieces like gears used more frequently in Friends sets for functions. I think that is a good thing.
  25. Dark purple with yellow? Have you tried dark purple with medium azure or dark azure? rotary snow plow by dr_spock_888, on Flickr
