  1. Since you have access to a 3d printer, experiment. I printed some 48mm wheels before. BFF might be pushing it on R40 curves.
  2. I've already bought the late 2000s sets that I wanted back in the late 2000s. I guess no.
  3. Would LEGO Technic pneumatics work as switch actuators?
  4. Welcome aboard, Jeroen. There is a GBC topic in the Technics section. GBCs are a ball of fun.
  5. You would have to use a PU to PF adapter cable that LEGO currently doesn't make or sell. There are 3rd party ones like on AliExpress. It is not as simple plug and play as using all PU components.
  6. I made an adapter cable that changed the ID of the motor attacted to ID of the PU train motor. The PU hub thinks the connected PU m-motor is a PU train motor and the PU remote acts with speed steps.
  7. Fascinating. I rode the Metro every day and never gave any thought to the door closing sounds. The heat generated by the rubber tires is a whoosh of warm air on station platform during Montreal winters. I suppose one could put the Metro sounds into their PFx Brick as a tie-in to LEGO trains.
  8. Assuming you're planning to use isopropyl alcohol, ABS should be resistant to it. You could test a piece of each color you have in the alcohol bath to see if there is any effect on a particular color. http://www.geotechenv.com/Reference_Pages/chemical_compatibility_table.pdf
  9. At one point, we were selling hand sanitizers in hard liquor bottles. Hopefully, nobody mistakes it for vodka or rum, etc. There is should and then there is the hard reality.
  10. Thanks. It has PU and PF. I have a PU hub connected to a PF XL motor through a homemade adapter cable. I didn't want to buy a PU motor since I'm already heavily invested in PF motors. I like using PU bluetooth when running at train shows. At home PF infrared works fine bouncing off the walls in my room.
  11. What do the terms and conditions on the funding page say? Is it up somewhere to read?
  12. For some folks connectivity with your smart devices is a key selling point. Pretty much all new cars now have to offer a feature of CarPlay and/or Android Auto or it is no good to tech savy buyers STEM seems to be a thing with some parents. Maybe in the future we will have robots to build the LEGO sets for us like automonous self-driving cars .
  13. The Emerald Night instructions show you how to add the Power Function motor, IR receiver and battery box. Powered UP may be the better way to go if you don't already have Power Functions. Substitute the PU hub and motor in place of the PF parts. I made a light bluish grey one on the cheap. I did some minor changes to avoid BrickLink orders. https://brickshelf.com/gallery/drspock/3dprint/bley_knight.jpg
  14. Does it connect with the LEGO Powered UP app? LEGO does not currently make PU extension cables. There are 3rd party ones.
  15. Welcome aboard. With LEGO you can disassemble or raid a MOC and reuse the parts in another MOC. Spend once, build many.
  16. They have to supply inventory to their retail stores too. Chances are they have it in stock at the store since ordering online seems more popular than visiting the store. Call ahead first.
  17. Marklin has a HO block train set that you can use your building blocks with.
  18. A little bit of sandpaper should make it work like LDraw.
  19. Aren't stablizers added to the plastic to keep those free radicals from uprising? I guess there is a limit when the stablizers are exhausted fighting the radicals. It seems to happen to non-LEGO plastic too.
  20. Use a tube cutter like the ones used in cutting PTFE tubing for 3D printers. Or use very sharp knife or razor blade if you have a steady hand.
  21. Clone brands can be discussed in the Community forum: https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/forum/7-community/ Clone and Competitor Brands: A Clone brand or competitor brand, is a product manufactured by a legitimate company. For Example Oxford,Mega Blocks. Kreo or Character Building. These are companies that do not infringe copyrights and provide a competitor product, such as licenses and themes LEGO do not produce. It is fair to discuss, compare and share these brands and their products in the Community section of the Forum.
