Interesting, I think you should have him wear gloves before letting him touch your minifigs. I am not a fan of the greasy feel on my LEGO after letting people hold and examine my MOC. I wipe the MOC down afterwards.

You have an uphill battle. It's basically your word against the records they have of "you" in their system. You have to prove that it wasn't you. Perhaps you can get that person to confess in a signed affadavit. I suppose you can also move to another place to have a different shipping/billing address and phone number. Also get a different credit card so credit card number don't match up with past records and new email address..

Using two PF (Rechargeable) Battery Boxes with one IR Receiver?
dr_spock replied to Paperballpark's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Thanks for the 9V wire information. Connecting 9V battery boxes in parallel would provide more current. Probably should have intelligent circuitry to monitor voltage and current and shutdown cells to avoid bad outcomes. -

Technic General Discussion

Someone already patented a multi-leg telescopic linear actuator: https://www.google.com/patents/US6435048 Why don't use some different diameter model railroading metal tubes driven by string like Jennifer's boom? You could probably get 3 sections out of it. It might be easier. -
Kleenex is to help diffuse the light so there isn't harsh bright spots. It might be safer to use something less burnable if you have hot light bulbs.

Clever. The curves and colors worked out nicely. Maybe it should be tied down. Those things can blow over with a strong gust of wind. (Learned the hard way.)

Using two PF (Rechargeable) Battery Boxes with one IR Receiver?
dr_spock replied to Paperballpark's topic in LEGO Train Tech
You may have to make your own PF cable to connect two battery boxes in parallel. The new PF extension cables look like they don't allow you to connect two battery boxes in parallel. I don't know if the old 9V cables will allow it since I don't have one to check out. -
If you don't want LEGO to use your rejected, archived, etc. ideas, you should not be a member of Ideas site and submit a project. Under their Terms of Service you assigned your rights to LEGO. Even if you deleted your project, you still give LEGO rights for up to 3 years. I guess you can think of it like going to venture capitalists to fund your business project, they'll own a good chunk of you. Always read and understand the terms in a contract before you sign. If the terms are not agreeable, don't sign and/or re-negotiate.

How do you maintain your 9V electric motors (10153)?
dr_spock replied to Haddock51's topic in LEGO Train Tech
You should use an ABS plastic safe lubricant. http://machinedesign.com/site-files/machinedesign.com/files/archive/machinedesign.com/common/files/images/material-compatibility-guidelines.jpg -
Eeks. Good job squeezing it all into one unit. Would it have been possible to put the battery and receiver in another car and have the technic motor and gearing in the first car? But then you lose some passenger seating.

LEGO Technic or City
dr_spock replied to Richard Dower's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
They are not Technic, they do contain some Technic pieces but the majority of the structure and build is not Technic parts. 7632 might fit as an old stud build if it had more Technic bricks in the cabin and body. The inclusion of minifigs also puts it outside of what is traditional Technic versus system build. You'll find many other themes now use Technic pieces for stronger connections, structures, motion, function, etc. Those themes are not Technic either. -

Very nice. I used to see the MBTA RDCs from my bedroom window. They were converted to end cab cars by then in push-pull commuter service and didn't run on their own motors. Painting feels un-LEGO, although it is a staple in the world of model railroading.

Good job. Nice voice. Aren't the current limiting resistors also there to protect the LEDs?

Lego Ideas is this a rule fitting idea?
dr_spock replied to Plokman's topic in General LEGO Discussion
You are correct. The FPS rule doesn't state violence, just FPS games do not fit the LEGO brand values. Submit the idea and see what happens. There are a few other Tron Ideas approved to be voted on. https://ideas.lego.com/guidelines: Projects related to the topics below do not fit our brand values and will not be approved for publication on LEGO Ideas. We will decide how a project fits these standards. a. Politics and political symbols, campaigns, or movements b. Religious references including symbols, buildings, or people c. Sex, drugs, or smoking d. Alcohol in any present day situation e. Swearing f. Death, killing, blood, terrorism, or torture g. First-person shooter video games h. Warfare or war vehicles in any modern or present-day situation, or national war memorials i. Racism, bullying, or cruelty to real life animals- 10 replies

Lego Ideas is this a rule fitting idea?
dr_spock replied to Plokman's topic in General LEGO Discussion
FPS game with violence most likely won't make it to the voting stage. I think it is spelled out in the published guidelines. Read and understand them first before even working on an idea. It would save disappointment and wasted time and effort. Put together a "marketing" plan for your project. How are you going to campaign to get 10000 votes? Who are your potential voters? How can you reach them? There are thousand of other projects and possibly some would be similar on Ideas. How do you make yourself stand out from the crowd? Ultimately is it a good fit for the LEGO brand?- 10 replies
