    always interesting to see people say it's always 'child safety', as the main reason for lacklustre motorised functions.. This set *IS* for 12-16yr olds.. hardly toddlers/infants, and with the price tag so high.. pretty certain TLG know that a large portion of sales will be adults anyway (majority, maybe?) Sometimes I wish they'd just do a 18+ technic set... with no safety limits! I wonder, if, after replacing the clutch gears with regular ones... how much stronger it is.. and how 'dangerous' it is... can you really get a finger jammed in somewhere, or will the motor just stall anyway, due to excessive gear train...

    I made a large GBC module with back and forth slider you might be able to work with this idea.... could even do something where the minifigs rotate, so in one direction, the monster chases the scientist.. and then they spin around, and the scientist chases the monster Having the figs on an axle, with a gear.. and then when the gear goes past a fixed gear-rack, it rotates them? (throwing ideas out here!)

    Do I see an opening for Iran's first bricklink store? ArshialQ's Iranian Bricks :) it wouldn't be the first time someone has started a bricklink store, to fund/supply their need of bricks!

    School holidays at the moment - I'll see if I can find more info next week, when I'm back. I do believe, that with a lot of previous Lego Educational/Dacta stuff, over the years, that you don't get a lot of in-depth stuff... as the whole point, is that the Teacher in the Classroom would talk with the students, and discuss more about the mechanism that they are about to build (real life scenarios) Most Lego EDU/Dacta stuff is not designed to be just handed over to a child to learn/play.. it works hand in hand with a teacher...

    I've recently set this up for the primary school I work at... I just downloaded, and deployed the WeDo2.0 App on all the Science Lab Ipads the software was also available via Lego Education website.. The software seemed to have all the instructional videos, as well as examples, and ideas for the students to think about, when building and programming. Since it's an educational-targeted product, you might be best to contact the reseller you got it from, and find out if they have any extra resources

    funny.. I answered this question to someone else just the other week, in a facebook lego group: Be careful... I bought a 2ndhand 8448 Super Street Sensation, that the previous owner had hung on the wall.. and a few bricks WERE damaged, with fishing-line cuts in them... in fact, I think I recall there was still some line tied around the still-built set, when it arrived in the mail Fortunately, they were only common pieces to replace.. but they were definitely damaged If I were to hang models by line/wire/string, I'd ensure that you either tie it to replaceable pieces... or 'pad' where it touches/supports the plastic (scrap of paper/clear plastic sheet?)

    Looks very good! now.. run it for 3 hours, and see if it holds up! :) on my todo list to build a reversing switch-style GBC

    and although interesting, I somehow, don't think a working model of an Elevator, or Hydraulic press would sell well.. apart from the odd special kid in the toyshop 'Oh wow Dad... I reeeeeally want the Technic Escalator set for Christmas!!"

    every time I see a topic started by uefchen, I know it's always going to be something unique, and interesting! keep up the great ideas! I wonder if this one, if a keel, or barge board, underneath, might stop some of the rocking from side to side...

    ahh.. I've always liked this module... I don't have the funds or time to build every one.. so I'm carefully selecting which ones are possible - and I think I'll try this one.. I'm guessing, since it's just "structure and string", that it should work if you make it taller.. (thinking of a tower to go up to a bridge - over a walkway)

    I'm still slowly working through yours (and Blackbirds) video + PDF on building the ball factory.. and there's quite a few places where I see.. eg: 2 * 1x4 plate, where a single 1x8 plate would do. it's always hard when you build/order parts... until you build it, you don't know what parts you REALLY need, and what can easily be substituted... I was unable to get a lot of 2x2 DBG bricks.... but ended up using a lot of 1x2x2 (tall) bricks, in an || arrangement, and using them where the instructions say to stack two 2x2 bricks. RB

    hand wash in warm soapy water... soft old toothbrush to get any grime out between studs.. Rinse in clean water... spin dry the parts in a Salad Spinner, then dry on a towel. I'll then whiten any old vintage grey/white pieces that need it (in a Napisan-Oxy mix + UV sunlight) Any broken parts are replaced.. trying to keep similar-vintage parts... but if not, I may bricklink order in pieces.. or just add a modern piece Then I'll build, or store away..... favourite sets are kept separately... not so favourite ones go into the big collection (sorted) I'm not a purist... but I do like clean, working Technic.... Oh.. and I usually toss the original black friction pins with newer style.. as I hate using the old.

    8448 was a bit of an exception to the rule - as for older sets. It gave you instructions for a few variants to the main model, but encouraged you to be creative, and design your own Most sets of that era, were straightforward A and B models. The Wing Door model probably uses the most parts.. But I'd imagine that every 'modification' has a lot of parts left over. And yes.. there are more parts per step.. but a lot of us, who've grown up with Technic over 30+ years, find them more challenging, and more rewarding

    I've certainly never seen it before... and only 65 views on youtube.. not many others! looks like someone digitally created (although no idea how accurately) quite a few Akiyuki modules almost 3 years ago!

    what's the application? do you really need all axles driven, or is it something like a large turntable, where you might be fine with just 2, or 4 driver axles, at 90' and 180' (much easier to gear)

    Silver Champ and Power Puller would have been conceived, and designed at least 1-2 years prior to release.... and how long did it take before studless sets really took their stride.. at least 2005-2006.. (apart from 8455 :)
