  1. Those windows look hazardous! Nice looking tower, and I like the use of their color scheme in those couple of areas. I think I'd have tried to do the railing at an angle at the top of the stairs (at the base of the tower exterior) to eliminate or reduce that 1-stud gap. I like the foliage and the river, and that simple bridge is nice too.
  2. Very nice rendition! I especially like the parts usage and design of the dish.
  3. Looks great! It would take a bit of re-working, but if you wanted to conceal the IR receiver a bit better you could add a hood scoop and stick it in there. But the necessity of that being somewhat visible somewhere doesn't detract from the overall design. One of my favorite little details is the hand crank for the windows - nice!
  4. How wonderful - thank you for sharing! Best of luck on the show!
  5. Interesting scale - looks great! I like the stand too, so long as it's sturdy enough to hold that beast up. NPU on the engines, and nice job with the wing and tail geometry.
  6. Looks great! Nice shaping, color, and texture on the towers, the simple modularity works well, you've done a good job packing in lots of nice details and features into that smaller size, and it definitely has that Classic Castle++ feel to it. Great build!
  7. Well... I like it! I don't know if it's particularly "useful" but it adds some visual interest to the forum and it's nice to see builds that might have been missed... or just to get into the pirate mood before even clicking into a thread.
  8. Looks great in that color and with great brick geometry, plus so many well-integrated functions! Excellent build!
  9. I can't comment on the OP's intended angle on it, but as far as I know folks absolutely have a choice on whether or not to get vaccinated. It's a detriment to society to have so many people choosing not to for no good reason and an insult (and threat) to those who are vulnerable and legitimately unable to receive the vaccine. I don't want to cast those people out, and I don't hate them or think they're evil, but I do think they're foolish. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ That being said... it's a Lego creation. It's not public policy, it's got all of 1,500 views so far, and it's not going to come to life and jump out to get anyone, so I think maybe we should not hijack the thread and just comment on the build.
  10. I would say that overall I still prefer the old road plates, but my biggest qualm with these is that they spend too much of the production budget on accessory pieces and the slopes in every set. If they sold an "expansion" version of this that just had more of the road segments and associated pieces, foregoing the other random stuff in the set, that'd be a more reasonable cost:amount of buildable road. As it stands, you'd end up with a pile of those slopes rivaling our bins of brick separators if you tried to build a whole city worth of roads with these sets. Sadly, you can't do any better on price at the moment buying only the road elements separately from Lego, but maybe they'll be cheaper on the secondary market when other sets that include the road plates get parted-out. I don't have a problem with the design, but at this point I'll stick with SNOT brick-built roads (which are cheaper than these!) or the gold ol' baseplates.
  11. I think it's commentary on the current situation. Taking it as somewhat satirical and not done in a realist style I don't find it problematic, but to each their own opinion.
  12. This is great! As has been noted, the color palette is lovely, the overall building shape/design is charming and well-executed, and the details like those little flower pots keep every bit quite interesting. Fantastic build!
  13. What kind of stuff are you looking to get in trade? Anything specific, or just "stuff" that would be more in the castle realm of parts usage?
  14. Great build! Lots of interesting details, and the modularity is nicely done, allowing easy access to all the fun stuff you've built into the interior. That hidden door behind the rock is all kinds of fun.
  15. What a delightful build! It feels like something out of Sugar Rush - the idyllic candy-coated hillside home just a ways up from the race track.
  16. This is pretty great. I think we're going to need a lot more of those mecha...
  17. That Space Police parking enforcement vehicle is adorable.
  18. Looks great so far! I think you have some options for improvements, but with it at this point already even if you don't change much it's a great MOC!
  19. Personally I'm more interested in the baseplates specifically, but nothing elaborate- just spread them out and take 1 picture if they're handy and you have room. Should be good enough for context on what you have to trade.
  20. What might you be looking to trade for, and can you show the baseplates as well so we have an idea which varieties you've got?
  21. I would agree that I wouldn't call it an Aventador (maybe "Aventador-inspired"?), but it's a great build! I think it looks great - especially for what you've done at that relatively small scale) and you've certainly captured the general Lambo look... and being a 4-seater is fun!
  22. Spiffy! that's a fun and eye-catching build!
  23. Welcome to EB, AgustaGuy! You'll certainly find plenty of inspiration here, and good company with other minifigure collectors and Technic designers. Happy building!
  24. Welcome to EB, Alan! Not a specific separate forum or anything, but plenty of Agents and Power Miners fans here! I thought some of the later Ultra Agents sets in particular were pretty clever and interesting, and while some folks have a softer spot for Rock Raiders, I think Power Miners was the superior theme and still have most of the sets which my kids also love showing that they stand the rest of time with their play value. Happy building!
  25. Welcome to EB, Mara! From what you said above, I would definitely look at the Creator Expert line of sets, especially the modular buildings (Police Station, Book Shop, Assembly Square, etc.). Even if the town you want to build is going to be micro-scale (not scaled to Lego minifigures but more like the big Hogwarts Castle you mentioned), those sets will show you some interesting building techniques and give you plenty of bricks to work with in a tame set of colors. Adding some of the Architecture sets to fill out a micro-skyline could be fun, too. If you're doing more of a medieval/fantasy themed town, I agree that Hogwarts would be a fun place to start! Happy building!
